| 13 | Scrolling Reddit is downright depressing: women with no dignity or self-respectExactly, it’s the societal gaslighting. I stayed in unhealthy relationships when I was younger because I didn’t know that there were better men out there. I thought, “this is just how men are” because that’s what we are taught from a young age, to give the benefit of the doubt as you said, even if it makes us deeply uncomfortable.
