If the situation was reversed I would assume the guy is not serious about me. However it seems he gave her no indication of how serious their relationship was. It is admirable that she did not fall into the usual trap of thinking of others first and got what she wanted. New coworker admited he waits for women to go wash their things in the work kitchen so he can drop his cup or etc in the sink so they wash it for him. God I pray this mom sees the light. His excuse is pathetic. When I turned 18 and started working my stepdad also started to treat me like a grown up, but in a proper and real way: helped with budget and how to handle my money safely, what to care for in the car or at home, even talk about politics and issues with his company. I dont think this is about age exactly. I mean, yeah ,10 + years is definitely an older man. But what I think really matters in this age gap relationships is the stage in life each person is. For example, an 19F and a 24M. Not a big age difference however she is just starting college or work meanwhile the guy is already finished studying and looking for good jobs and considering moving wherever his good job may be... Now a 40yo and a 50yo I dont see much difference in their life stages.

Oh yeah, I try not to think so much about that part. Cristian is just a sperm donnor in that situation. He was useful and then he wasn't anymore. And about Lily's leaving, she went to San Francisco to pursue her dream of being a painter, for 3 months. 3 months is nothing. 3 months after I broke up with my ex and moved out I was still learning to live within my paycheck. I actually can afford to buy nice things for myself. All bills are paid on time. Doing the dishes never takes more than 15 minutes, when before it could take more than half an hour. I do every task in the house and somehow I am less tired than when I was living with my ex. Also no part of my house smells like cigarretes + No one eats whatever I bought for myself and left in the fridge for more than 30 minutes.
