As Lannister Sr. taught us, if you have to say (or assert) you are the king, you are not the king. Asserting inserts hierarchy. It's not a competition, your value is relatively the same regardless of what hers is. Just walk upright, laugh, smile, be authentic. Fail fast and move on. Trust the process. ;)

I disagree. I don't know about PUA, but I absolutely think of myself as the prize, have even used the phrase in conversations about dating. To me that means I intrinsically value my own value, not that I compare mine to hers or others'. The worst I can do is match with someone who thinks of me as barely passable choice. I have been using Bumble since 2016, with say a hundred dates, a fair number that progressed, three year-ish long relationships. The women that sent only short, lazy, or delayed …

In a limited way, we all have some. Jokes we repeat, statements that have worked for us, etc. It's good to have some such material to fill in gaps or brain farts. But pre-planned PUA material should indeed never be a thing.

These are the meetings that can change the trajectory of your career, speaking from personal experiences. Crisp flow and deep preparation pays off.

You are right, it is simplistic, but the emphasis I read was to avoid the upward that sounds needy, which stands alone as a point. Your comment creates another point.

What's worked consistently well for me is a compliment on something real but not obvious, something they didn't expect. A woman with beautiful eyes hears about it every day so don't - notice her hair or the grace of her movements and she'll be intrigued. It shows you are really looking at her while indicating equal status, the opposite of a banal compliment.

I have a friend/acquaintance, 30's, very good looking, ivy league educated, owns a string of upscale hotels, drives a Ferrari - and he is needy. I don't know why, but he is unmistakably needy, his seduction game outright cringy. Weird.

If it didn't happen the first time, it won't the second.

I have spent upwards of $300 on first OLD dates multiple times. What you spend on a date has little to do with succeeding, perhaps even a negative correlation. Now, I go with a 20' walk in the park instead. It's not the money, it's easier to connect with someone than sitting across a table in a static room. Forget about withdrawing tho. My best walk-in-the-park first dates became half-day, some even multi-day. You know when you hit it off. If you have to play games on timing, you didn't.

After my 20-year marriage ended, I very much wanted to show myself and my ex that I was capable of going out with pretty women. This mattered because I had married an 8 when she was 18 and we were poor, who became a 10 not that long after. There was always an undercurrent of her thinking she was much better, as the male attention she received all these years was everywhere all the time. I had gotten a girl out of my league then but couldn't replicate the trick, I was way too old to be looking fo…

Υour opening thesis is money on this. At the same time, over my long dating experience, I've observed a strong direct correlation between the strength of the initial spark and how far it got as well as how good it was. Where you draw the line (strength of early spark) depends on what you are looking for and the opportunities available.

My favorite for a first (online) date is an afternoon walk in the park. Set it up for a short 30 minutes, but keep your schedule open for afterward. The dates without chemistry painlessly wrap in 20min, the promising ones much longer, eventually pivoting to dinner, ice cream etc.

Well said, and yes, my definition of orbiter was broader, as in hidden attraction.

I don't disagree the way you put it. I also think many orbiters aren't even aware of themselves as such.

You're right, but I wasn't referring to her specifically, but more generally. I will stand by my generalization on orbiters, though. I have been discussing this extensively with two women friends who collect orbiters (it's not just the orbiter's fault). I've come to believe most men are, whether they know it or not. My closest of the two is my orbiter, after a short fling seven years ago. Last year her bf read her (current) texts to me and broke up with her over flirting with me. I wasn't even a…

Most male friends women have are not friends, they are orbiters.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
