That was a bit of a rhetorical question but yes that's the answer!

No sir. I respect the court's decision. That is all. You can disagree about a ruling, but you must realize you did not have all the evidence to make the ruling. Furthermore, not all rulings by a judge or jury are correct. Having a good lawyer can make a huge difference. An example would be the current state of criminal courts in the United States. Lower income individuals cannot get access to good lawyers because of financial reasons. This can tremendously effect the outcomes. A good lawyer can …

There were a couple cases. The latest one Luke suing Kesha and her mother in New York for trying to break the contract. (This is what I have gathered from what I've read over the last two days) So the thing with case was she had to prove that she was being exploited by Luke. That was why she believed she could break the contract. However since she could not provide enough evidence to prove he did that, she has to abide by the contract. She also tried to say the contract victimized her. That's wh…

True. Let me explain why I think the Bill Cosby case has a little bit more evidence than Kesha's. For starters a few cases were reported soon after the events <1 year. The police did not open the case then because there was a lack of evidence (this is based on my understanding of what I read, so correct me if I am wrong). One case was sealed in 2006, so it was a while ago. What Cosby did to the accusers was apologize, give unilaterally offer generous financial assistance. This is the weird part …

could have I'm not saying he is guilty. The outcome was from a lack of evidence and that's why he's innocent. It doesn't mean he necessarily committed the act. He could have, he could not have. There's only the word of someone to go off of, which is one of the weakest forms of evidence.

Well here is my understanding of the situation and I maybe wrong, so if anyone knows more than I do, please feel free to correct me. So initially Kesha sued Luke for drugging and "forcing himself" on her, and using his position of power to take control of her career. The issue is that any reliable documents or reports are hard to find from this trial for mid 2015. Most are TMZ, Huffington post, US weekly etc with extremely vague sources. All I can find is that it was filed in California and she …

Remember the court sees all the evidence provided and makes a legal decision based on that. We do not, so we cannot make an informed decision. The media outlets tend to take a very pro "victim" line when talking about rape and sexual assault. I'm still trying to find a transcript of what the judge said, but I believe it said that the late nature of her allegations and lack of evidence to support her claims. We must remember, EVERYONE is innocent until proven guilt. That goes someone accused of t…

This helps. If you leave a Fitbit on the ground at the scene that's different from the police coming to get your FitBit data. This video was very misleading.

Media wouldn't be a good idea at this point (they'd probably side with school as that's probably the only evidence they have). Asked the OP for his school district and was going to see if you could all email or write to the high school he attends to reexamine their decision. If I get it, I'll put it into another thread. In the meantime told him to get a lawyer and make sure his witness' story and his are the same, and that he should go to his teachers, friends and other individuals at the school…

To a degree: UVA is trying to lose all liability for something like this on the future. Banning parties at frat houses will make the students party off university jurisdiction and they get off easy if this ever happens again. Very sneaky.
