Knowing you fucked up, admitting you fucked up, and taking responsibility for your fuckup are different things that may or may not overlap in any given situation.

It seems like she was trying to provoke a reaction. It could have been that there wasn't actually a "look" to begin with, she was just hoping for and projecting some kind of response.

Aside from the basics, everyone is going to want something different. Even within the basics, different people will be satisfied by different levels. Explore your interests. Find new things to do even if (especially if) those new things make you uncomfortable.

Easy fix for that. Don't get married.

It's not their fault. It's that patriarchy thing or something.

That's how she justified it after the fact for the benefit of her audience. Her story has holes you could drive a bus through. She knew what she was doing. She was (clumsily) maneuvering for leverage in the divorce she knew was coming. Lucky for the husband, she's not as adept at scheming and manipulating as she seems to think she is.

She's not impressed by the car you bought for yourself, she's impressed by the car you bought for her.

I totalled a car once but it wasn't my fault. A woman blasted a stop sign and stopped right in my lane. After I made sure my kids were okay I climbed through my window and checked on the woman. She was sitting in her truck talking on the phone to her husband. She later told me she had just passed her driver's test after her 4th attempt. She was found to be 100% responsible for the accident. My (ex) wife showed up shortly after the Trooper did. She lost her mind about me "destroying (her) car". A…

You don't have to think, people more knowledgeable on the subject did the science and OP cited it. Haselton, 2007. Consistent with the inverted-U hypothesis of masculine traits, men with moderate muscularity are rated most attractive. http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0146167207303022

I was exposed to stem my entire life. Vaccinations, cars, clean drinking water, buildings... all designed/developed by STEM majors.

In theory, prior debt/assets are exempt from distribution. In practice, I hope he gets a good lawyer.

I agree. Putting a clock on your progress isn't necessary or even helpful. If you finish your workout early, you don't stand around for 30 minutes because your calender says so.

Guys get fucked hard in court a lot, but I'd be surprised if his state didnt have an exception for secret debts like this, especially if her and her family actively covered it up.

Not necessarily. <50% of women haven't been diagnosed. Assuming that >50% have been diagnosed is a reasonable assumption.

Diversity of thought is a great thing. My former profession (military reconnaissance pilot) had former mechanics, truck drivers, students, infantry, engineers, explosives experts... Whenever there was a discussion about how to approach a problem, we always had someone that was able to bring a fresh perspective to the discussion. Notice what I didn't say. I didn't say we had black people, brown people, white people, men, women, liberals, conservatives... We had all of the above, but none of those…

I sort of almost agree, it depends on your situation. If you can live without one or have cash on hand, cash is best. If you absolutely need to have one and don't have the cash, stay well within your means and take the shortest loan period you can afford.

At this point, it's more important for him to value (and seek) your opinion and advice than it is for you to give him knowledge. 'That thing dad taught me 5 years ago' is going to be have much less effect on his life overall than 'I should ask dad's opinion.' The two aren't mutually exclusive, but try to prioritize earning his respect and trust above imparting knowledge. Source: Father of 3 boys (21, 17, 15).
