Hey man, whatever works for you! I don’t want to diminish your path. I just wanted to add that to the conversation in case someone feels lonely with that prospect! I just am not about that life hah

Most of these questions were just directed at the parent commenter so I don’t really have a response to some. I tend to go by statistics for things like #1 for instance although the gap in cheating timelines is interesting. Hmm I think either one on their own would qualify for me. They don’t need to physically want someone else if they’re sufficiently emotionally dependent although that’s a good way of filtering out responses like “what about their parent that they’re close too??” Yeah again thi…

I guess I just feel for the men who are like me and find it tough to have romantic feelings without first being friends with someone who see this message and think it must be followed absolutely. I don’t see that helping them find someone they’re compatible with.

I don’t know a ton about their lives but from a perusal of Wikipedia, it seems like they met and moved in together before either was rich or famous. But I mean that’s just one example I’m sure you could find some other couple that fits the point better....

I’m going to work backward on these points if that’s okay. Mainly because I believe 7 to be most important/debatable. In my opinion and, albeit limited, experience, literally no relationship can exist without sacrifice. As my SO puts it, being in a good relationship is better than being single but being single is way better than being in a bad relationship. Sometimes I want to take over the entire bed when I sleep but I can’t because that would be rude to partner. But to me, those 99 other times…

Obligatory, how dare you say that about Danny DeVito, even if they’re only after him for his magnum dong. But also his wife was in the same line of business as him and isn’t exactly a head turner— were they that mismatched?

In America? 57% vs. 54% lol To be fair, when it was legalized nationwide that was sitting at 39% but, just like abortion which did not have 50%+ support, gay marriage was legalized by the Supreme Court and I can’t see any way for there to be a Supreme Court ruling that you must have sex with someone you don’t want to haha Aside from that, the analogy also doesn’t work because it is a lot easier to get people to be okay with two other people doing whatever they want vs. forcing them to join in. T…

Heads up, I’m a woman if you want to stop reading here since I’m sure my view won’t really have much merit to you. However, I would like to have an authentic dialogue with you about these views. I think I disagree nearly universally with you but I would really appreciate it if you could clarify your views on a few points you have made. Do you truly believe women cheat universally? What is your definition of cheating? Can or do men ever cheat (before a woman does.) Is a relationship that’s genera…

I would have to disagree as I do not think you’re looking into the causes of either and also most “moral atheists” (however you want to pin that down) absolutely diverge in beliefs from doctrine. Christian morals are simply group survival rules. Many of these are no longer important for survival but are enshrined in the religion (no premarital sex, for instance) so the moral atheist would be open to it if given a good argument for it whereas the Christian would not. However, things like murder w…

First of all, pointing out legal regularities present in certain places in a certain era cannot invalidate the concept of marriage as it exists outside those bounds as well. Aside from that, though, the point of marriage (to me) is a partnership. The point is that you’re committing to one another... through thick and thin, poverty and wealth, sickness and health— you know, the common vows. Guess what! A spouse getting cancer (let’s say lung cancer and they smoked so you can assume they had a han…

That’s what they said... if someone needs air they’re going to leave the ocean floor even if they’re having a sweet ass kumbaya with Ariel and Sebastian. That doesn’t mean they don’t really super enjoy the company. They’re just drowning. For the record, I’d disagree with the above commenter. A quick look around r/deadbedrooms would show how the men (and women) are so upset with a lack of sex in a relationship because it makes them feel unwanted. Because of course plenty of men (and women) don’t …

The amount people strongly agreeing with this is humorous to me seeing as I would never date someone until I was quite good friends with them
