No problem! One thing I took away from it is how cheap, for a lack of a better term, the point was made that Spopovich is a monster. That quote Gohan mentioned, “He’s not the kind of person who’ll go easy on you just because you’re a girl,” drives home the fact that Spopovich is so evil that he’ll brutalize women, even a woman as strong as Videl, thus taking a realistic lens and applying it to what is largely fantasy violence. In other words, the difference between what kind of beating is accept…

Awesome analysis. Touches on a lot of media for their gender biases, including some I like. On the Gohan-Videl situation, there is this video by one of my favorite youtubers, which touches on the topic. It’s a long one, but it’s a great video that addresses why the scenes from the fight might be seen as the most violent. It even points out that before Spopovich got the upper hand against Videl, she kicked him so hard his head literally turned the other way, which is more violent than anything he…

That is both the epitome of Reddit users being pieces of trash that peruse others’ post history and the continuous bashing that a man risks facing if he posts something that challenges the standard “girls rule, boys drool” narrative. That’s why it’s always a minefield to post advice on Reddit; these confrontational thoughtcrime officers are everywhere.

Identity politics, in particular this whole battle of the sexes, has ruined the discourse around pregnancy, causing stupid memes like this. Our entire society, including the concepts of family, child care, and labor rights, was built on the fact that one gender has a babymaker. Nothing would fundamentally change if a different gender had it. But because “mEn HaVe It BeTtEr,” it leads to stupid Harry Potter-like fantasy world-building like this. The entire abortion issue is painted this way, and …

Only point of including the article is to show the phenomenon of young men using steroids. Not to send a message. Look, I don’t what you think this is, but I’m genuinely curious about a phenomenon that impacts men particularly. I don’t care about the nuances of abuse or not because it’s all the same: young men are looking for some way to increase their hormone levels. That’s it.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:59 AM
1

There are ways to take steroids without being an abuser, though. After all, what I meant by overuse is someone who works out a lot, so they need something for them to recover from injuries. That is legal and can be prescribed by a doctor. Overall, I’m looking for insight from anyone who’s ever used any form of testosterone. My wording might be unclear, but that’s because there are a lot of ways people describe it.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:27 AM
1

Doesn’t legal TRT share the same health consequences as “illegal” steroid use? Either way, someone is changing their hormonal imbalance, which can lead to detrimental effects.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:19 AM
1

Sorry to hear you feel that way. I feel there’s absolutely nothing wrong with your frame, but it does provide a reason to look into using them.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:09 AM

True, it’s just like makeup and other enhancements for women: a way to stand out from the pack.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:07 AM

11?! Damn, the pressure is freaking real. I guess they’re realizing they’re in intrasexual competition to get a partner.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:07 AM

Interesting, so you didn’t participate in the sport? How did the others do, and did they face any punishment from a committee for taking them?

You got me. Y’all are arrested for the crime of getting a legal medical procedure. I hereby sentence you to Reddit jail for a day. (AKA having to read TwoXChromosomes posts without laughing or having an aneurysm)
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:04 AM

Maybe, I was considering for a time. I do have a boyish look myself (I am 20, so I might be too young), so I might consider myself. Still analyzing the risks though
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:02 AM
4

Yep, the deaths were a huge deterrent from me using it. Used to love watching bodybuilders too, so knowing that they’re dying really turned me away from even thinking of getting their physiques.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 02:01 AM
1

Damn, that’s my age. Guess it’s eerily too similar to women using enhancements to stand out. And of course, there is only immense pressure to eliminate one gender’s enhancement. (i.e., women don’t need makeup!)
/r/MensRights06/10/23 01:59 AM
1

Weird, especially since you’re close to the age to take them and it wouldn’t harm you apparently. Perhaps this trend is even too new for the medical field.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 01:57 AM
5

Interesting that it can also be used as an antidepressant essentially. Makes me wonder if the root of the problem is their anxiety and depression, and testosterone is somehow more effective than something like Lexapro or Xanax.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 01:56 AM
1

Thanks for your reply! Believe it or not, there was a brief point in my life where I wanted to take them (I wanted to be a wrestler). It’s interesting that the age to take it is 40, makes me think that younger users are rushing to judgment here.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 01:55 AM
3

Wow, thanks for your insight! Answered a lot of questions I had. Only thing I have to ask is aside from your friends, how do others think about your use? Do you face stigma from people like your family?
/r/MensRights06/10/23 01:45 AM
1

Oh yeah, definitely. That whole movement of self-improvement ultimately leads to the goal of finding a partner. Says a lot about our beauty standards for men, which, funnily enough, is what serves as a constant reason from feminist as to why women aren’t truly free.
/r/MensRights06/10/23 01:43 AM
11

That makes sense, actually. I never considered the dropping of overall testosterone count into steroid use. That does call into question if the harmful effects of steroid use would thus be less detrimental to younger folks because of lower amounts. I’ll have to look it up.
/r/MensRights05/10/23 07:35 PM
16

That reasoning is what I expected. It’s an enhancement they use to attract people. Of course, I don’t think using such dangerous methods is worth it, but like people noted, it’s like women who use Botox and implants. Dangerous, but sadly effective.
/r/MensRights05/10/23 07:01 PM
1

Curious, what are those reasons?
/r/MensRights05/10/23 06:57 PM
3

From my understanding, the difference between those enhancements and steroids is how the latter affects one’s hormone balance. That is to say, they fuck them up. Badly. The body has a set amount of testosterone and estrogen, alongside other sex hormones. There’s a feedback system where if one is overcompensated, the other hormone is rapidly produced to even everything out. So, if someone injects a boatload of testosterone into themselves, they will find themselves later with a tremendous increas…

Always appreciate these updates on Title IX! Big news, they’re probably delaying the Obama-era regulations again, which at some point should make people ask if it is even worth implementing. They got over 240,000 responses (or some number like that) to their horrendous proposal, someone without a culture war to feed would look at this and say, maybe we screwed up.

There’s nothing wrong inherently, some just want to have one. And yeah, it might not be the best case given how many relationships end poorly, especially for men. I agree there’s too much emphasis on sex, and paradoxically, it’s that focus that leads to people using incel as an insult. Thanks, btw! I had to undergo so many English classes in college to make it work!

Yeah, not often. They are basically the vocal minority, but their loudness rings around the media to terrify people.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:39 PM

Hikikomori culture is the trend of young people in Japan, mainly men, withdrawing from society. They are basically recluses who choose to be isolated, mainly due to cultural factors. They are a major drain to the Japanese economy and population, since they rarely have jobs and procreate. This video explains it in more detail: https://www.bbc.com/reel/video/p0dj0n68/hikikomori-what-drives-us-to-withdraw-from-society-
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:38 PM
2

Often, yes. I might be becoming more empathetic towards their plight, but violence is never an answer, which is what self-identifying incels often resort to.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 08:43 AM
7

This exact hypocrisy further alienates people from the parties that engage in these double standards while also praising identity politics. Why are some communities protected when others can’t be? Even the majority suffer, regardless of the issue.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 08:43 AM
9

Exactly. We had an entire era where we tried to say that condemning an entire belief for the actions of a few was wrong, yet we still do it. Especially for Islam, which, depending on the interpretation, can be even worse for women than inceldom.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 08:41 AM
12

Yep. The “woke” love to throw the LGBT+ community under the bus. I remember an image from The Late Show that painted Trump and Putin as romantic partners, and that was supposed to serve as a gotcha against them. I wished people called him out to the near point of cancellation, especially those who are a part of that community.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 08:39 AM
1

Exactly, and then they have the unmitigated gall to call out the pursuit of that, even when the person doing it is doing so earnestly and carefully, as “toxic masculinity.”
/r/MensRights03/09/23 08:37 AM
2

I have not either, usually they keep to themselves or don’t go around gallavanting the word. I agree! The violent ones represent a small minority of incels.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 08:35 AM
4

I’ve noticed that I could technically be considered that too! Even if I had a prior relationship. Mental health for men is the primary factor for why incels gravitate towards extremism, because society constantly shames them for their loneliness. And that leads to the violence which further causes shaming. It’s a vicious cycle that obfuscates the real question of male loneliness.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 08:34 AM
1

I love that analogy, and I would love to delve into the Trump victory someday. That in and of itself should have been a lesson that shaming is a terrible political tactic, and we see it here too. And, I fear we’re going to need to learn this lesson again. This time, not with Trump being in office again, but an eruption of violence like at the end of Joker. Empathy really goes a long way, and I can’t believe we have to say that to a group that prides itself on how virtuous it is.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:55 AM
1

You got it right on the mark! Andrew Tate and the manosphere are able to sucker them in because no one else wants to help them. It’s this lack of empathy that encourages further violence. Anything, from lower costs to therapists for young men to more education/employment opportunities; anything can help incels possibly by filling the gap of a relationship. Otherwise, we get hikikomori and Joker impersonators.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:52 AM
2

Nice! I was born in France, even though my language has been a bit limited. You got half of it right, the other half of incels are essentially those who struggle with even finding relationships. Those who did and suffered, though, is interesting. You notice how when a woman says “I hate men” after a particularly bad experience, they don’t face nearly the same condemnation when the shoe’s on the other foot? Those double standards are infuriating as hell. And I agree, they might have the best expe…
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:49 AM
3

I’m sorry you had to go through that. They can be terrifying. I hugely regret the fact that they became this way, because I don’t think it’s inherent. It’s just like 2019 Joker: society pushes them too far.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:23 AM
3

Yep, and that’s why feminists LOVE to lump the violent incels with us. To show that we are not to be trusted. At this point, we ourselves should be more open to inceldom, as no one else will co-opt them. Perhaps we can change their violent behaviors into passionate advocacy for men’s rights, including societal double standards.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:21 AM
9

Oh yeah, I do understand. More and more I’m realizing this from the comments. It’s the shaming of people that leads them that path. Nobody becomes a violent incel out of nowhere. Again, leftists especially should be tolerant of this, but they are the ones most responsible for this shaming. Side note, I think I recognize your username from stupidpol! Liked and saved a bunch of your comments because you definitely bring a more nuanced perspective to issues like this!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:19 AM
21

“bUt MuH ToLeRaNcE!” It always amazes me that the same people who preach tolerance, inclusivity, and respect are often the ones whose actions show the opposite to whom they deem “unworthy.”
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:16 AM
2

There is a weird obsession with widespread shaming, especially against men, white people, straights, Christians, what have you. It’s that entire thing that is causing the very turmoil we see today. I guess that’s what they want: for people to be so pushed over the edge that they can get tangible ammo to shame them more.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:14 AM
8

Precisely that! It’s all to the point that incel as a word will be as useless as nerd, especially if loneliness becomes our dominant culture.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:12 AM
3

Good point, hell even feminists have had their issues. Valerie Solanos and the people attacking Erin Pizzey come to mind immediately. At the end of the day, people just don’t want to evaluate the nuance of certain categories, unfortunately
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:11 AM
6

I would love to! It’s so interesting because the concept was originally the purpose of the term, but then it involved into those violent viewpoints. Nuance is extremely important, and I’m glad someone else has that thought process to remember that!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:09 AM
2

Exactly, even though we go through struggles, we shouldn’t channel it into literal shootings.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:07 AM
2

Facts. People who use that term derogatorily don’t even know their target’s sex life. And isn’t that bad to even mock it? Wasn’t the sexual revolution against all that? Rules for me and not for thee, I suppose.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:06 AM
2

Exactly, it’s virgin shaming but now tying it to a word that has some violent undertones
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:04 AM
11

I actually need to look into femcel violence. Just curious, because either it was silenced by the media or just never discussed as fervently as Rodger. Are there reported incidents?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:04 AM
1

Ooh, thanks for that! The title is actually right. Now I’m liking the idea of investigating dating, I guess I have been told that only extremist incels do that.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 02:02 AM
13

Damn, that’s a funny one-liner. Shows how on its face calling anyone incel is ridiculous!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:02 AM
7

Yep, couldn’t imagine what would go through the minds of people who’d say they are incels, but they need to shame, I guess.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:01 AM
25

Exactly. I do think that Hikikomori culture will essentially dominate men’s livelihoods, and then we as a country will have to endure the consequences that it had for Japan. We could have avoided this, but we instead encouraged further shaming. It sucks because especially, leftists should be co-opting them. If we allowed the extremists to channel their violence into activism, we would have a solid leftist movement devoid of the dividing identity politics. Instead, we have this.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 02:00 AM
4

Totally agree. Now that I think about it, that actually relates to Joker from 2019. Haven’t made that connection even though it’s right there. Arthur is a clear example of an incel in this sense, and he wasn’t the only one in the film. It’s only a matter of time when the powder keg erupts, when it all could have been tempered or resolved.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 01:57 AM
3

Thanks so much for linking this! Haven’t seen this before, but it actually explains a lot of datat manipulation that is getting increasingly common with the misandrist agenda.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 01:51 AM
7

Exactly, and it’s another form of identity politics that keeps those men down. Leftists especially should be more tolerant of incels, as their issues perfectly showcase the shitshow that is modern American capitalism.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 01:51 AM
3

In theory, I can see why. I myself will not condone violence for the reason of “they did it first.” I think we can be better than feminists. But, I can’t argue with you that this is caused partially by feminists using the term as an insult.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 01:49 AM
16

Yes! The extremists who commit violence should be condemned, but that shouldn’t drag down an entire population of people who find trouble in relationships.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/09/23 01:48 AM
2

Yep, at this rate, people might even forget the term exists. The misusage has been damaging to the broader image of men.
/r/MensRights02/09/23 10:53 PM
3

That may be true. I am still skeptical if one is predisposed to love, as it does encourage hopelessness, but it’s hard to argue with science. I guess my contention with the research is that it makes incels prone to violence because of the hopelessness. If there’s a way to address this without any harmful intent, that would be perfect.
/r/MensRights02/09/23 10:47 PM
5

Exactly. Thank you. This comment is another that deserves to be pinned. Incels definitely present a problem of empathy, as without being too accepting of their views, we need to understand where they are coming from.
/r/MensRights02/09/23 10:45 PM
5

Exactly. If I can make your comment pinned, I would. Perfectly summarizes my thoughts, and I never even considered incels who actually suffered abuse from men. An article for another time, definitely!
/r/MensRights02/09/23 10:43 PM
2

I agree definitely. Even the ones who are too far gone, there’s a chance that a better economic situation can help them. I mentioned this in the article, but TFW No GF documents some who hold pretty despicable views but still have more of an economic struggle than a relationship one.
/r/MensRights02/09/23 10:42 PM

Are you aware that Wikipedia notably has an anti-men slant when it comes to men's rights? If not, here you go. https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/search/?q=Wikipedia&restrict_sr=1 Again, I do not sympathize with those who take the mantle of incel themselves. I am talking about the millions of lonely people (men and women) who are misconstrued as such due to some weird virgin shaming and need to find a way to solve their issues rather than facing constant insulting. Remember, a queer Canadian wo…

Love this post so much. As a STEM major at a private university that prides itself on research, I never could believe that women were underrepresented. I attended large lectures with upwards of 500 students, and most of them were women. Most of my study buddies were women. I have even found myself being the only guy in many recitations. Now this shows that not only was I not crazy in doubting the stats, the stats have been manipulated themselves! They are literally changing the narrative to dimi…
/r/MensRights02/09/23 04:44 PM
6

Exactly! I have heard the theory that self-professed incels don't usually call others incels (because of the heavy implications of that word), so it's most likely either projection from insecure people or from those who are indoctrinated by current discourse to use it as an insult. At this point, we need to bring back older words for those who want to find new insults if need be, like clodpoll. I guarantee less people would be using incel consequently.
/r/MensRights02/09/23 03:37 PM
6

Oh, yes, social media and dating apps have made issues much worse for relationship planning. Especially after the sexual revolution, the crosshairs have made it difficult to navigate finding love.
/r/MensRights02/09/23 03:31 PM
4

That actually can be plausible, and I can see that happening at some point! Otakus are interesting because not only did they go through this reclaiming process, but it's basically apt to say that most people today are varying degrees of otakus, even if they don't express it outright. Since loneliness and bachelorhood are becoming more common nowadays, I genuinely see it going the same for incels, and, weirdly, people might be conditioned to be happy being lonely. At least most of the shaming wil…
/r/MensRights02/09/23 03:28 PM
12

It legit is crazy. Now you make me think about this: are people who have sex and then don't for a while considered incels too? If so, that is a way broader category of people! It's conditions like this which make "incel" a horrible way to insult someone. It deviates from the main point so much that I'm surprised no idiot came up with something like, "You may not be an incel, but you have the incel mindset." Like, what does that exactly mean?
/r/MensRights02/09/23 03:24 PM
12

Yep, and not only being against feminism, for simply being a man! Worse part is, this shaming avoids solving tangible problems like loneliness, depression, and financial/education woes and instead resorts to baseless name-calling
/r/MensRights02/09/23 01:20 PM

Hey! I’m glad you felt better reading this! This is all created with keeping men’s spirits up without going insane. Misandry is an issue that people tend to avoid discussing, so the more people call it out, the more we force it into the mainstream. I’ve always wanted to be the person who says the harsh truths that no one wants to say, because trust me, I was in your position too, and it ate me up for a while. Thanks for your kind words!

Exactly! We have always been capable of exhibiting these traits!
/r/MensRights12/08/23 09:46 AM
4

True, for instance this platform wouldn’t exist if people didn’t take risks, and men are more known for risk-taking, for good or ill. Also on the point of nerdiness: Einstein and Aristotle, among many others, used their curiosity to deepen our collective knowledge!
/r/MensRights12/08/23 09:37 AM
6

Agree with everything, especially art and creativity! Mozart, Beethoven, and da Vinci all come to mind! And totally relate to the point of self-sacrifice!
/r/MensRights12/08/23 09:34 AM
4

No worries! I know it might seem like I’m being a dick asking, “what are men good for anyway,” but it’s all in the name of empowerment!
/r/MensRights12/08/23 09:24 AM
4

Eh, a bit more elaboration would be preferable. We do want to promote all of our positive traits, so being specific reminds even the “average Joe” knows he has some value!
/r/MensRights12/08/23 09:20 AM
2

That is a good start! I know it’s a typical response, but it’s worth something!
/r/MensRights12/08/23 09:14 AM

And don’t forget, bring an entire society to support their shaming of you. Honestly, that’s what Hill should have done. If Brady asks, don’t explain, because it could be misinterpreted in context like this.
/r/MensRights12/08/23 03:42 AM
1

Oh, definitely. I completely understand that perspective. It does have the unfortunate effect of cutting the person loose, but it is understandable why they do it. Confrontation can be scary, after all.
/r/MensRights12/08/23 03:31 AM
2

Exactly. We should all be empowered to set boundaries, as it protects everyone. They should not be leveraged to advance gender issues.
/r/MensRights11/08/23 11:10 PM

Please don't let this become an attack on how I am trying to be a pseudo-intellectual.
/r/MensRights11/08/23 09:00 PM

That is one definition of the term. The other, which is what I am using is this. From Merriam-Webster: To analyze the nature of by examining in detail
/r/MensRights11/08/23 08:50 PM
2

Exactly. It's frowned upon in this culture. And, the weak enforcement of boundaries is often why men are susceptible to abuse in potential relationships.
/r/MensRights11/08/23 08:49 PM
11

Yes, and his situation explains why men often don't have that many boundaries set up for their own relationships. Any inkling of a standard that they set for themselves is regarded as draconian and sexist.
/r/MensRights11/08/23 08:32 PM
3

I am partially anti-natalist, so I think I can speak on this a bit. In general, yes, but not pursuing any relationship with a woman would do the same thing. Since many issues regarding men's rights revolve around divorce court and child support, it would help not to have to deal with the extra pressure and slant towards mothers that these situations can cause. As for the other topics, concerning sexual assault and rape, I wouldn't know how helpful it would be considering that sex is nowadays les…

You fuck off, transphobe. LGBTQ+ people have much more in line with us than you think. The “alphabet soup,” as you put it, have suffered nearly as much as cis men (in regards to the issues we face). Trans women have struggles being accepted because of TERF feminists and assholes like you. Gays and lesbians are ignored when they are abused like straight men, and trans men are often floored when they have to face the issues we do so much that it makes them regret transitioning. Why the fuck are yo…
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates08/08/23 06:25 AM

Awesome!! Here’s something to include since this is an LGBT march: Trans women are women too! A lot of people (conservatives, TERFs) don’t believe this, so they think they’re just men in drag. Unfortunately, trans women get similar flack to cis men.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates07/08/23 06:52 PM

Thanks for that insight! I have rarely heard stories of underage boys having to pay for child support, that is an incredible idea for another article!
/r/MensRights07/08/23 03:14 PM

Just want to say, thank you for doing this. It takes a lot of bravery to write such a thing.
/r/MensRights07/08/23 04:54 AM
2

Yep, that’s the unfortunate reality of the social conditioning to believing the model.
/r/MensRights07/08/23 01:19 AM
1

You’re right, never really considered that. I do my best to give feminists the benefit of the doubt and believe their values were made in good faith, but the more I see their actions, the less I think so. That does explain how even when something screws over an entire system, like tne Duluth system, they defend it vehemently instead of trying to fix it for the better.
/r/MensRights06/08/23 11:58 PM
1

Looking back at my article, I see I’ve said what you are saying, that women are more likely to weaponize children. I think you’re referring to this line: “One will show that mothers are nearly as guilty of weaponizing their children as men are…” That’s more or less a throwaway line. I haven’t fully looked into the research of that area, that’s for part 5 of the series! I just said that line in case I get blowback saying fathers are more likely.

Duly noted. I'm just saying that I think they were one of the first to do it at all. It's debatable whether it was better than nothing, but having something to address DV is a good stepping stone. It's like a faulty theory: it helps to try answering the question, but it should be changed based on new information.
/r/MensRights05/08/23 09:52 PM

Case in point: the fact that MensLib hosted Chuck Derry. Shows how much they want to enforce the religion.

/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/08/23 04:51 AM

That is true, and it has proved effective in those fronts for men in the program. The only thing that stuck out to me when considering other nations is the fact that, like I wrote in the article, the rate of female abuse seems to be higher than male abuse. From what I know about many cultures around the world, like what you said, that should not be the case; in fact, male abuse should be higher.
/r/MensRights05/08/23 04:50 AM
3

Exactly, if we spread awareness, we can beat so much of the misinformation about DV.
/r/MensRights05/08/23 04:47 AM
3

I am sorry you had to go through that, friend. You are right, the UK laws have been heavily based on the Duluth model from what I can see. It’s a shame how it propagated to other countries.

Thanks for your help!!
/r/MensRights05/08/23 04:45 AM

Exactly! It’s almost like an indoctrination campaign, and it has had disastrous consequences on abused men. It did damage that only recently with places like this and Depp v. Heard are trying to solve.
/r/MensRights04/08/23 09:58 PM
7

Thanks! It is a shame that with more abuse being on the other foot, not many people are noticing. It also doesn’t help that when it comes to woman-on-man violence, it doesn’t tend to leave a scar, so it’s effects are easier to brush off
/r/MensRights04/08/23 09:33 PM
7

That is true, unfortunately, especially considering what it was made for. I do commend the people responsible for making it because they tried to address DV, they were one of the first to do it in the US. But not only did they go about it in such a gender-exclusive way, but they also bury their heads in the sand when offered evidence literally showing otherwise.
/r/MensRights04/08/23 09:05 PM

/r/MensRights04/08/23 08:29 PM

That’s one thing in general about this culture of raging against the authority I’ll never get: not many of us are responsible for doing any of this. Especially if you’re not as high of a social status to influence change
/r/MensRights04/08/23 08:28 PM
1

Gotcha, like “men and females!” I’ve heard that rhetoric before from more… unsavory sources
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/08/23 08:27 PM

I totally understand that! It does take a lot of work to mask, so much that I myself often suffer from burnout. But, like you said, it is a very vast spectrum that shouldn't be ignored
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/08/23 03:55 AM
2

Yep! And trust me, I will talk all about that in the future, the notion that men (and white people... and straight people... and cisgender people... and Christians, etc.) can be fodder for all the jokes and abuses because either "they've held the power for so long and abused the rest of us minorities" or "they can take being trodden upon all the time!"

I am genuinely sorry for what you have been put through. I am glad that you found a support worker to not only get you through the day, but also process your trauma. I hope that stories like yours will be more prevalent, especially for the public discourse on women-on-men violence. After all, you’ve given me a bunch of ideas from telling yours! How abusive women are able to take advantage of men who face mental struggles (autism comes into mind for me), the struggle in finding proper support for…

Totally get it! That actually sounds like a better title, I will use that! In my planning for the series, I do intend to research lesbian abuse, so that title should be all encompassing. And like you, I don’t get it either. I think it has something to do with incels, but I don’t know why “female” has to be a bad term.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/08/23 03:53 PM

Gotcha, thank you! I don’t have Discord, but I’d love to chat with others about these sorts of topics! Update: Just made a Discord account and joined it!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/08/23 03:22 PM
5

Thank you! My overall aim is to show examples of abuse of all sorts by women tend to be minimized, as well as showing how we got to this point through the cultural norms we have today. I’ve set up a few parts that I’ll be covering myself, and on that list I’ve included double standards, censorship, politicization, and the phenomenon of the “nice girl,” among other concepts.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/08/23 03:19 PM
6

Hey! A lot of it will be discussed! In fact, I think my second part will include notes on teachers who commit sexual acts with boys. One of my larger parts will focus on how women hide not only IPV, but other forms of abuse like child abuse, including pedophilia. Hope this answers your question!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/08/23 02:54 PM
9

Thanks for letting me know that! I’ve always heard that using the word “female” is not particularly embraced, to say the least. So, I tried avoiding that, but it might not come off well. I’ll change it. Update: Changed on Medium! Unfortunately, can’t edit titles on Reddit :(
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/08/23 02:51 PM
21

Exactly, and it’s true in the reverse too, but it isn’t called out as much. Advocating for men’s rights would make me an incel, while feminists who call for men’s heads face no issues. I don’t think it’s extremist to say that there should be fairness across genders, but that is the case today.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates01/08/23 10:46 PM
41

Yep. It’s why you see many people in spaces like these! Trust me, you’re not the only one. Feminism has been always used to push the rights of women forward, and it’s admirable in that goal. However, recent waves have made it so that in order to accomplish that, they need to run over men in the process. It’s one thing to advance a minoritized group’s freedoms; it’s another to try to remove another’s. That’s not equality; that’s just sexism.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates01/08/23 09:56 PM
3

Unfortunately so, it’s part of the pretty privilege where if you look attractive, any awkward attempt would be written off rather than labeled as harassment.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates31/07/23 11:15 PM
3

Exactly! Like I’ve seen from other people, too many first attempts are perceived as sexual harassment. Such a thing is also ableist, I feel, to autistic people whose social functions are already at a disadvantage.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates31/07/23 11:00 PM
2

I love your definition! There isn’t much ambiguity that I can find with such a sentiment, and with the fact that it has to be insulting on one end, that indicates to me that there should be proof. Not only that, but what is considered insulting is a lot less arbitrary based on the person. Might only be radical for those who are used to using sexual harassment as a weapon for their own means.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates31/07/23 10:59 PM
2

Naturally, as the west is aspiring to be “egalitarian,” which basically means only women’s concerns master. The power they wield over the narrative and law would be concerning to those foreign to our social issues.
/r/MensRights30/07/23 11:18 PM
1

Jesus, I’m sorry you live in a country like that. And all for an air kiss? Seriously, sexual harassment at this point is only a tool for people to just abuse the law, especially because of it’s “he said, she said” nature.
/r/MensRights30/07/23 09:04 PM
2

Totally agree with your comment. I didn’t want to include this part because I didn’t know how it would come off. But: that lady from the catcalling video was in NYC. I have lived there for about 10 years. I have been greeted by strangers (yeah, some New Yorkers can be nice lol) and by homeless people asking for change. Those are unwanted advances, but aren’t nearly on the same level of charge as sexual harassment. If I were a woman, can I claim it was? As for your point on the gendered issues of…
/r/MensRights29/07/23 06:21 PM
2

Yep, and with the range of behaviors people are trying to push as sexual harassment, who knows wha will be considered “normal” or “usual”?
/r/MensRights29/07/23 06:18 PM
1

You got it, thanks!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/07/23 12:06 AM
6

Thanks! I do agree, pretty privilege plays a huge role in how we perceive sexual harassment. I will say, even that might be more gendered than we think. I’ll have more to say about that in the future!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates28/07/23 08:26 PM
1

As I’d imagine. It’s like watching a mouse desperately gasping for air while being strangled by a boa constrictor. I’m making a follow up on Mr. Spacey very soon!
/r/MensRights28/07/23 08:03 AM

Thanks so much!!
/r/MensRights27/07/23 10:12 AM

He did, but compared to the others, I felt his wasn’t shared enough. I appreciated that a man would speak out, because at least it showed that not only women can be abused. Again, like you said, it’s all about who has the power.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/07/23 09:28 AM
3

I had completely forgotten about that. That’s another thing too; the Internet leads us away from men’s stories. If you google the phrase “Mariah Carey MeToo,” alongside links to the bodyguard’s lawsuit, you’ll also find interviews of Carey speaking up about it. They know how to play the victim and signal boost to drown out whatever goes against their narrative. Like you said, it boils down to power, not necessarily gender, as to who abuses who. Conspiracy theory: this is done to further hide the…
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/07/23 09:26 AM
1

Thanks for letting me know about that! I’d have to look into that more. I genuinely hope he’s doing okay, but if it’s misinformation, I’ll happily take it down.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/07/23 09:11 AM
2

I bet they don’t. I genuinely bet they don’t. If I say Asia Argento to anyone in the public, I suspect that it would not have the same visceral reaction as someone like say, the recently exonerated Kevin Spacey. People also rarely discussed the men who also stepped up to share their stories like Terry Crews, who I think was more impactful in what he shared.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/07/23 09:09 AM
2

Exactly! I think this stems from our overall cultural expectations of good vs. evil. This case shouldn’t be celebrated from either side as good. I have to say, some of us in this subreddit are too prone to that as much as the feminists who defend Heard. That is one way I hope we can advance our progress: very rarely should we expect anything to be blanketly good. We need to be litigious and use our capacity to think critically instead of following a narrative. Otherwise, it’s the reason why gend…
/r/MensRights26/07/23 10:54 PM
6

Thanks! I tried to be impartial, as I have been seeing some pro-Depp sentiments too. It would hurt to see any of these two as heroes. They’re both in shades of gray, just like in reality. That’s the thing with toxic relationships; the victim might not be clearly one person.
/r/MensRights26/07/23 10:10 PM
7

Unfortunately so, but the entire atmosphere of the MeToo era is no more thankfully. They used to cover for people like Asia Argento and were successful in 2018. They tried with Heard, and no one (except for feminists in denial) bought it.
/r/MensRights26/07/23 10:09 PM
5

Yep, it’s sad, really. It’s been hijacked to the point that everyone forgot that not only men in power are abusive. What was more of a way to combat the privilege of the upper class turned into another fruitless gender war. And I can bet my bottom dollar everything in Hollywood is back to its abusive, disgusting ways because of this distraction (well, albeit the strike, thank goodness).
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/07/23 10:07 PM
1

That qualifies more like hearsay than actual definitive proof (although I’m not a lawyer). The fact that was brought up as proof in a “case” shows how fucked up Title IX courts can be
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/07/23 08:33 PM
16

Oh, this has been an open secret for years. Like you said though, the truth has been hidden purposefully. But no truth could contain the calamity that was this case!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/07/23 08:15 PM

Lol, thanks! Thankfully, I haven’t faced much outrage yet from users there, which is surprising to be honest! Still get some comments, but you gotta take them head on, you know what I mean?
/r/MensRights26/07/23 08:14 PM
1

I am sorry that you had to go through that. So they accused you of discrimination because of... comments that you said? I've heard people say worse things and they never got reported. That shows how horribly exploited Title IX can be; if you even appear or say something out of the ordinary, they can use it to worsen your life. It really is comparable to the Red Scare.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/07/23 07:21 AM
7

I remember reading a reddit post discussing that. If I find it, I’ll link it to you, but it basically confirms that a school will not put women through the same things as a man, such as say, interim suspensions. Edit: Here it is, it was Rice University. Such a shame. https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/wg2vku/in_court_deposition_rice_university_flagrantly/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

Yep, that is the fallacy of #BelieveAllWomen. It made any accusation credible without evidence, especially in the court of public opinion.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates24/07/23 10:36 PM

Facts, especially considering that the administrators are more likely to have disposable income for lawyers, I don’t think they would dare to put them through what they do to students

/r/MensRights24/07/23 09:00 PM

Thank you. I understand that you are commenting on a particular aspect of the issue. It just irked me that it the way you wrote it, the article as a whole was described as outdated, as it assumes that injustices in how men are treated in these situations are things of the past, when it has not been the case in many people’s experiences.
/r/MensRights21/07/23 07:29 PM
2

I respectfully disagree. What inspired me to be involved more in what is apt to say “egalitarianism” was a recent incident in which a friend of mine was expelled for accusations of abuse when in fact he was abused. The office did nothing to investigate his counterclaim and tossed out any witness testimony, including mine, to levy the case against him. Looking at this with a narrow view is not my intent when it is a by and large societal issue. And it is that I refer to in this article.
/r/MensRights21/07/23 05:10 PM
1

Is it? When Title IX policies will be reimplemented to the Dear Colleague era, I don’t think so.
/r/MensRights21/07/23 04:45 PM
2

Hey! Firstly, thank you for noting her experience with facing abuse herself, that completely adds an entire new context into the article that I will add into the article once I look into it. Secondly, I do have to respectfully disagree with your point that I said she only stands up for men’s rights. I don’t say that in the article, and I mentioned that she continues to establish more refuges for victims of abuse to this day. That wouldn’t constitute being shallow or self-centered as you say.
/r/MensRights21/07/23 12:11 AM
4

Unfortunately, that seems to be the case. The closest I can think of this situation is the accusation that the Nation of Islam killed Malcolm X. Even if it wasn't true, it is vocalized that the NOI isn't a good group, so much that the SPLC and ADL deem it a supremacist group. Here in this case, there has been no consequences for the group that targeted Pizzey, at least that I know of.
/r/MensRights20/07/23 09:38 PM
6

Unfortunately true as well...
/r/MensRights20/07/23 08:44 PM
5

Facts! It’s one thing to be around the world, it’s another to do so to set up shelters! She’s practically an underrated Doctors without Borders. This makes the fact that feminists would hunt her down all the more devastating. And they say that MRAs are the violent ones? Some of the feminists Pizzey worked with were literally terrorists!
/r/MensRights20/07/23 08:23 PM
4

Whoa, that’s cool!! What can you remember from your interactions, she seems like a lovely person!
/r/MensRights20/07/23 08:02 PM
3

Yep, sadly. I honestly can’t believe a movement with the basic idea that women should have rights can be corrupted to just a few people at the top and take out everything else.
/r/MensRights20/07/23 08:01 PM
5

Facts, learning about her was so astonishing. She also went through so much and been to so many different places, she practically has a well-rounded perspective of different cultures!

3

Yes, I will! Thanks!
/r/MensRights20/07/23 07:58 PM

Thanks! I’ll definitely be digging in to your post, there’s even a lot about Erin that I didn’t include!
/r/MensRights20/07/23 06:44 PM

Just finished reading the article and… Jesus Christ. I was just starting to work on my next blog about how feminism attacks men’s rights, and after reading this, everything makes sense. Feminism is a totalitarian system. After all, for all the virtue signaling they do of equality, they sure love decimating other marginalized groups’ efforts. Much like how women can be covert abusers and pedophiles, feminism is covert authoritarianism.
/r/MensRights20/07/23 06:26 PM
9

Thank you for your reply, the more I am learning about Pizzey and feminist censorship the better. Also, I am sorry that you were a victim of abuse. Doesn’t matter if it’s physical or not, it’s inexcusable, especially when society wants to practically erase your stories.
/r/MensRights20/07/23 05:45 PM

To me, it was, especially with the virtue signaling about how feminism is about equality. Especially when it comes to TERFs, that took me completely off-guard

You hit that point right on the head!

Might have been so, unfortunately... :( There are many who have made great strides in progressing women's rights, but they mostly come from the communities that are marginalized, partly by mainstream feminists (Blacks, LGBT, working-class, etc.)

Oooh, yes! Jonah Hill! Great example, I’ll have to make a piece on that! It proves your point exactly: men are dictated by social pressure to adapt to what women want, while they are encouraged to be liberating.

Thanks for sharing your experience, as it does lead to a question that might be interesting to think about: so men have agency in picking their relationships at this stage? There are many limits to what we can do: many good, like not being angry at being rejected, and some bad, like facing backlash for rejecting someone

I do agree with your statement, even if I don’t care much for my bloodline. A man does have more to gain from a relationship, hence why he would be more pursuant.
