Talk to her again after all this? Are you crazy or just stupid?

I never said anyone was bad, I said that anyone who thinks there are military jobs that will never put them in danger is acting foolishly.

You're missing my point; all jobs in the military support the military's mission. You're correct, not everyone goes door to door with a rifle. But the entirety of our military is focused on achieving the mission. Even if you're not the one directly in danger, your job supports someone who is. IT specialists build networks that carry defense information - everything from personnel data to financial data to battlefield signals intelligence - that support the mission of the soldiers in the field. C…

going into the military can be a terrific, fulfilling, valuable decision to a graduate ... so you could get a position that you could construct a career from. The ONLY job of our nation's military - an all volunteer military - is to defend our nation and our nation's interests. Our military's job is to fight war; to find and subdue (and kill, if necessary) the enemies of our nation. Anybody who joins the military thinking that they will avoid the horrors of war because they chose a desk jockey M…

If war was ever so severe that a draft was issued, all military jobs become dangerous jobs.

everything the person you're replying to said was true No, it isn't, I know from first hand experience. There are obviously people who put varying levels of effort into the tasks of being a stay at home parent. But generalizing and saying that every parent's job is as easy as /u/ChaosOpen is making it seem is not only wrong but disrespectful to everyone who doesn't fit that nearsighted mold. I agree that it isn't the hardest job on the planet, but then, I never said it was - put the straw man aw…

when you throw in kids That's the part everyone seems to be missing. Yes most people can do these things when they live alone. But we're not talking about living alone; I'm so tired of that strawman argument.

"Inventory management", my ass, you seem like a person who would buy Amazon Dash Button. Who do you think makes sure there's toilet paper in the bathroom before you plop down on the throne? Who makes sure there is food in the cabinets? Who makes sure there is laundry detergent, household cleaning chemicals, light bulbs, and the other things that a home requires on a regular basis? That's called inventory management. I don't even know what Amazon Dash Button is, but thanks for making assumptions …

As someone who has both a career outside of the home, and a very good set of optics into what it's like caring for 3 kids at home, you're really out of line here. A stay at home parent (whether mom or dad) actually does a lot more than you're describing: Meal planning (packing school lunches, planning home meals, accounting for preferences and allergies of not only your own family but all visitors) Meal preparation (actually spending the time cutting, mixing, forming, cooking and serving food) H…

Implants fail too. In fact Condoms have a 98% perfect use success rate which is as good as if not significantly better than the average use case of most respected female contraceptives; only CUD or LNG IUD has more success, by 1.1% to 1.8%. Again, condoms work.

They have. It's called a condom!

Agreed, its awful and should not be tolerated. But the man ultimately (in consensual cases) has the choice of where to deposit his "work product"; in a device which is designed to PREVENT pregnancies (a condom), or a device designed to SUPPORT pregnancies (a woman). One party's actions do not absolve the other of their own responsibility to act with prudence, at least not in this case. Yes condoms fail, but not all that frequently. I have had sex countless times, and yet I have only 3 children. …

In this case ("I did something that I knew could make a baby, but now I don't want the baby"), I don't believe in the abdication of parental responsibilities .... part of my staunch belief in the right to life is the idea that nobody should ever be FORCED to care for a child they can not love (an important part of a child's upbringing) (...) So in my perfect world (...) Note the added emphasis, I get the cognitive dissonance. My primary concern here is the welfare of the child. Therefore, in our…

Sorry, I didn't know that was what we were discussing. But it doesn't change my opinion. In this case ("I did something that I knew could make a baby, but now I don't want the baby"), I don't believe in the abdication of parental responsibilities. Sorry bucko, everyone knows that sex (especially unprotected sex) makes babies, don't have sex (especially unprotected sex) if you don't want a baby. Because when the baby comes out, it doesn't know or care if you wanted it, he/she still needs to be fe…

Dad here. Never got forced, never knew anyone who was forced. Yes there are crazy girls out there, but please don't act like men are being wholesale forced to create and care for kids they don't want, its just not that common. In the vast majority of cases, the deed (and not using or defeating protection) is mutual. edit: "She told me she was on the pill" does not count IMO; it was ultimately the males choice (in the majority of circumstances) to wear a condom or not. Yes that's a horrible thing…

So, since the man has money, the woman's only motive must be to steal from him? That's not a men's rights argument, that is sexist chauvinism. The facts of the case don't support what you're spewing.

Pass the salt, please? I think you're salty enough already.

Have an upvote. I did some (mild) research and was also unable to find a single mention of her "trying to take half his stuff" (I assume she would get some from the divorce but there was no explicit mention made of it), and I was only able to find one mention of her having an affair; and it did appear that it had happened after they had separated. I also found stories mentioning that he has apparently become kind of a scumbag in the way he treats her, trash talking her in front of friends and fa…

Good on you that you didn't hire the unqualified women. Unqualified people. Gender never factors into a rejection. Wanted to make that clear.
/r/MensRights28/12/16 09:57 PM

I can't (and won't) discuss my company's hiring process or policies publicly. But I can say that the most technically qualified applicant, who meshes well with the team (team fit is almost more important than skill level), will get the job every single time. This is true regardless of gender, ethnicity, or religious or political beliefs. This is the way an ethical person and an ethical company hires for their team.

IT Manager checking in here, running a group of system developers and system engineers doing devops type work. We have no females on my group, but only because out of the literally hundreds of resumes I have seen, I can count the female applicants on one hand. (Unfortunately, they were - just like their male counterparts - unqualified.) One of my other peer managers is a woman (our storage team, and she and her team are well respected). I work with several software development teams on the other…

dumb feminist cunts I think I can see why they might not be inclined to listen to your side of the debate.
/r/MensRights21/12/16 07:16 PM

Since OP didn't link the source article, here you go. It's ... pretty awful. This is apparently an article from their "The Cut" series, which is described as: Whether exploring understandably conflicted feelings about culottes or entrenched social issues like the wage gap, The Cut delves into a woman’s world with intelligence, sophistication, and a dash of humor. So at least their bias is stated fairly obviously up front, at the top of the article. The article draws a thin connection between Tru…
