If you perceive that they have truly repented and it shows in their behavior and way of life, then I wouldn’t think twice about it. It’s hard to find a virgin in this day and age, but, if you find one, that’s good too. It really depends on their heart and their character at the end of the day.

It’s about self-control alongside God’s will in humility/love/obedience. What do you mean here when you mean “self-made religion”? 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 2Pet1.5-7

I tried to find this at first but couldn’t. Thank you.

Wow. I didn’t know Sirach had this knowledge. I’ll have to read it all the way through now.

I’ve been struggling with the “authority” of the RP beliefs too. But, if empirically validated in Christ’s life... then I’m fine with it. By “empirically valid” I mean tradition and scripture (scripture comes from tradition as it is how we interact with Christ). Tradition also includes the Church Fathers.

Thanks for the verses! I didn’t know the 10 commandments were like that. Thanks for enlightening me about this.

Ah, this makes sense. The Greek really helps! Thank you.

It seems that you’re saying that statements and leading questions should be used in text mainly. It should lead to communication in person, at the end of the day, eventually. That makes sense. Play to my strengths, not my weaknesses. Thanks!
/r/RPChristians13/05/18 10:39 PM
1

Interesting. So it seems like “less is more” is what you’re saying here. More so that you can confirm your certainty that they are the person you want to marry without the cloud of attachment that more physicality creates.
/r/RPChristians13/05/18 05:06 PM
1

Oh, obviously I don’t engage in “emotional dumps” nor “important convos” over text. I was saying just random communication and keeping in fun, etc. I like phone calls too. But, texting can be beneficial for certain personalities I would say. I guess it just depends on the type of personality I want to end up with tbh.
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 08:55 PM

Yeah, I try to keep a low level of investment and not respond too quickly. This makes sense though, texting shouldn’t be in place of the face to face contact obviously, but it can be a tool if used correctly. I’ll keep all of this in mind. I was too strict on my using texting only for logistics and it felt as if it was a detriment to my game (in a way). I can see how it differs from person to person though.

Lol
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 08:45 PM

Haha, sometimes I wish arranged marriages and romantic love weren’t necessary. The multitude of options is actually a detriment to choice happiness at the end of the day (especially for women). I hear you though, I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks.
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 02:17 PM
1

Oh, I did it know that, but I should have, haha. Makes a lot of sense!
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 02:15 PM
1

I see. So it’s all about digging deeper into the values and character of the woman at the end of the day. That makes sense. I think I’ve been putting too many “rules” on texting and really just need to focus on the fun, teasing, etc. alongside the other important factors. Thanks for this. Very insightful.
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 04:10 AM
1

Awesome! Thank you. Makes sense in all honesty. If you are able to see the other without the “cloud of attachment” then you can spot the yellow and red flags easier. I’ll keep this in mind.

I feel ya dude. I appriciate the advice nevertheless! Yeah, I’ve been trying keeping texting only for logistics ever since taking the Red Pill and it hasn’t been the best outcome. It really doesn’t seem so black and white considering texting is so ingrained in our age group’s relationships compared to the older generations. Definitely don’t want to take secular RP advice on something (texting) where the goal is to have multiple plates to have sex with (as we are looking for a singular woman to m…

Ah, I misread your comment. That makes sense. Sounds like the “on-ramps” are to be avoided most definitely.
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 01:26 AM
1

This makes sense. Staying busy and being driven on mission/vision is top priority, I agree. I’ve always felt that logistics is too contricting for our age range in all honesty. However, yeah, the “short, playful, and flirty” rule is something I’d agree with for sure.
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 01:24 AM
1

Ah, yes, I agree. The “on ramp” kino’s that you mentioned sounded like one only had the option of a “u-turn”, haha. No problem man, glad it was helpful!
/r/RPChristians12/05/18 01:20 AM
3

This makes sense. So there’s room between “beta” and “only logistics” it seems here. Pretty much, just stay busy and keep abundance mentality. Thank you

Ah, this is great advice. So pretty much “use discretion” and don’t escalate too far. However, it seems that hand holding and kissing are okay. Thanks

To add on to some of these responses so far: I would say that some should marry and some shouldn’t marry. It all just depends on the person. 1 Cor. 7 doesn’t translate to today considering Paul was speaking to the people that were being persecuted and were recommended not to marry considering the “present distress”. I, personally, want to be married. But, I want to be comfortable single before I pursue marriage. https://carm.org/does-1-cor-7-say-we-should-not-get-married
/r/RPChristians10/05/18 03:31 AM
1

I guess we can agree to disagree on the “issues” as I do not see them as issues. If you consider the “institution of marriage” = to sex. Then yes, the “institution of marriage” is pre-fall. This all comes down to how one operationally defines marriage. In this “issue”, I see your idea of marriage quite different than that of the author’s. On another note, I don’t see how you can respond to a post coherently if you have not fully read it.

I’d read the entire anthology before making any judgements.
/r/RPChristians06/05/18 05:58 PM
1

Hmm, interesting. When man sinned communion was broken, so yes, I would have to say that the social institution of marriage was a result of sin and falling out of a communion with God and others. “Marriage” wasn’t needed before sin came into the world. Does this make sense? Of course those who stay single have no real impact in this world. If one is “single” in this case (in this anthology) they are referring to non-Christians. As a single man myself, I am currently devoted and married to God un…

Nice, those are all great things to be doing. You’ve got a good foundation. Just know that the temptations will still be there, but God is there to help you through them. If you happen to mess up, don’t beat yourself up about it either, repent and get back up and conquer the next time. I’ll try to find some prayers from some saints to PM you if I find any that could help after Divine Litergy today! No problem! It’s always nice to meet a fellow EO inquirer. I’m in the same boat dude. What I’ve come to think as of now (still learning and taking it a day at a time, mind you): channel my sexual desire (eros) into devotion to God through prayer, reading scripture, cultivating the gifts I’ve been given and giving them back to God. work out 6 days a week. This helps me channel my energy into something productive. Prayer is a major help for me. Maybe some older people in this sub could enlighten us some more as I am right there with you. You aren’t alone …

Falsity here is a reference to something that is untrue. From what you say after, something could certainly be "pure" in motive yet still untrue. I don't suppose you are arguing that every Orthodox priest who ever preached from the pulpit has only ever spoken truth and has never had anything false come out of his mouth during a service. So, while I acknowledge the purity from which they preach (although even at that I'm sure some preached from false motives, which Paul in Philippians 1 says we s…

I'd be interested in seeing how you reached that conclusion. I don't see much about any apostles saying much about a particular branch of the faith other than that we're all believers and should view ourselves as in fellowship with one another. Orthodoxy seems to draw a clear line and says, "Sorry Paul, but we don't agree with you. We're the one true church and if anyone is outside our bounds, we're going to draw a hard line and not embrace this whole unity thing." I've had many Orthodox people …

I love this! Thanks for fleshing repentance out even more. Very helpful. Repentance, Prayer, and Humility are the road less traveled, but they are the narrow path.

Much of Scripture was written before the church. Its codification came from the church. That's a big distinction. The Church began on the Day of Pentecost after Jesus' resurrection, so I would have to disagree with this on the grounds that much of the NT was written after this day. However, the OT, if that is what you are mentioning this mainly, was written before the Day of Pentecost, so I would agree with that. Then again, the OT has always been "Christian" even though before Christ, the veil …

That's a great way of explaining it! I personally let them ask me questions if they are interested and I speak the "truth in love" depending on the circumstance. I don't think one story fits all situations so I try to tailor the "gospel" to the talk that I am having with the other person. I also try to get to know the person I'm sharing the gospel with before I share the gospel with them so that it doesn't seem forced. The gospel to me starts with Christ. So after I tell them who Christ is to me…

I agree, one is to "preach" the good news. Actions speak louder than words though. I would say that one should work on the heart before the words flow forth. However, to answer your question, yes. I do "preach" with words. However, I am more focused on my "heart" before my words so that my actions "preach" the gospel just as much as my words.
/r/RPChristians01/05/18 08:19 PM
2

I would say so, yes! Sharing the gospel by becoming more like Christ through theosis and living as he lived through the virtues and becoming “truly human” ourselves through that process. He didn’t say anything about it, but this is something I would say from experience (not that I have much, but still some).
/r/RPChristians01/05/18 07:59 PM

He pretty much said that we as men are to "lead by example" by exemplifying virtue (acquiring the virtues and relinquishing the vices), prayer, making sure the family goes to church, etc.. He said that one can only know how their role(s) if they know what a Christ-like life is (emulating Christ) first. Essentially, our mission is internal (virtue) and then leads to external (fruit). I guess the "practical way" is just striving towards the virtues through those actions of prayer, church, etc. by …

I think it comes across that way due to your flair and the fact that you only post from Orthodox sources. I've really enjoyed our conversations, but there's a part of me that gets a little perturbed when I see a constant stream of Orthodox sources - not because there is anything wrong with being committed to the Orthodox Church (though I certainly have my disagreements), but because it makes you seem linear-minded. If you're getting 90% of your information from one source (the Orthodox church), …

So, in a lot of your posts from orthodox sources I see individual quotes that you pull out that sound red enough, but when I read something like this, everything in the paragraphs after what you pasted is a litany of "love your wife this" and "love your wife that" and "she's one with you, so you should love her." That's not to say he's wrong; it's simply to say that his emphasis is no different than any other theologically-sound, yet philosophically blue-pilled church leader today. But maybe tha…

Ah, okay, yeah. I’ll post these sometime following those guidelines. I didn’t know that it was mandatory to do that. Thanks for letting me know! No problem man. Hope you are doing well!

By “be the man” you mean become more like Christ in the virtues he exhibited and how it is described in 1 Kings 2:1? This makes more sense! I wish I was taught these things when I was younger, oh well though. No time like the present. The social skills aspect is the one I really need to work on. Any links or posts on here that help with that or is it all just experience in that realm? Ah, okay, interesting. So “courtly love” is worship of women instead of God. However, the original meaning of ch…

This makes a lot of sense. It’s all starting to click now. I agree with all of it. So you’re saying that the striving to cultivate strength, confidence, courage, independence, decisiveness, etc. as well and dressing well, working out, and being charismatic are the passive “game” we should use, not the active game. All of this “game” is a distortion of the true antidote of biblical marriage. It seems as if chivalry in its original form wasn’t bad considering it was built around Christ. However, c…

Ah, interesting. It seems that I may have understood frame wrong then after all of the time I've studied it. This makes a lot of sense though. So it's a mindset (that example) that translates to your actions; a "visualization of alpha", in a way. "Assumed attraction" sounds like something I need to cultivate some more and grow in to just "being it". I'll remember this is all my interactions now. It seems like it can be generalized to most interactions, dating or not.

You’re right, I did feel myself focusing too much on if I did a specific thing right or wrong after reflecting upon the date. However, I was kinda in a flow state during it. I do need to keep developing that abundance mentality though, I agree. Thanks for the advice here, I always have room to improve. Good example as well, I’ll implement that. One question I would have to that is how does “seeing others greater than ourselves” factor into that mindset/example?
/r/RPChristians22/04/18 04:36 AM

No problem! That makes sense for the person that isn’t a good fit for me. It doesn’t hurt to have another person in my social connections at the end of the day. That makes sense for the person I’m interested in as well. It seems like making plans in person is ideal (I didn’t do that today on the date; we planned to text each other for future plans), but texting plans isn’t terrible... just not ideal because of the implications of them forgetting or flaking. I’ll keep this in mind (inviting her t…

From what I can gather from this verse, it seems to be calling us men to become more like Christ in that Christ is that apple tree. By doing so we become “better” and more virtuous compared to other men and become more like Christ in becoming more truly ourselves. This all leads the faithful women that we would want as wives to us.
/r/RPChristians21/04/18 04:58 AM

Awesome! Thank you dude! Hope all has been well in life for you.
/r/RPChristians20/04/18 07:56 PM
1

Interesting. This is making much more sense now. So, active game essentially starts after marriage, but passive game is the foundation for that active game. Do you mean “the Christian man should not utilize kino”? So if passive game is the ideal, how would you define “passive game” and some tips to build those skills from a Christian RP mindset?
/r/RPChristians20/04/18 05:21 PM
1

This all makes a lot of sense! So it’s mainly about just pursuing God and knowing who I am rooted in Christ; “becoming truly human”. If the right woman comes alongside me during the time that I’m utilizing these RP self-improvement and awareness concepts to pursue my mission/vision, then that “passive game” is the ideal? Would you say passive game is more ideal than active game if this is the case?

Ah, I see what you’re saying now. Thanks for this. Makes a lot more sense. I must admit that I wish I sent a different text to her and that I shouldn’t have used the emoji, but I guess that’s besides the point from what you are saying here. I guess I wasn’t attractive to her on the first date, but I was just being myself, so I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on myself and just look forward instead of to the past.
/r/askTRP14/04/18 03:46 PM

I was thinking this at the beginning. So you do think I should text at all in 3-5 days? What promps a hard next instead of a soft next in your opinion?
/r/askTRP14/04/18 03:02 PM

I see. So you would reccomend responding with something (this something being “ok”)? Wouldn’t that be going into her frame by texting her back? Yeah, 3 days is a good time period.
/r/askTRP13/04/18 03:30 PM
1

I agree with all of this. I actually have another chick, so I wouldn’t say oneitis is something I’ve got going on, but I totally understand what you’re saying here. I’ll definitely look info abundance mentality though, probably would be good for a refresher!
/r/askTRP13/04/18 03:29 PM

Interesting, I see. I’ll try one and then maybe utilize 2 when I wait a few days. Waiting would probably be best so that I can get in the mindset of withdrawing emotional investment (didn’t have much in all honesty). Yeah, the “maybe” was a sign for sure. Oh well! You’re right. Kinda sucks I don’t know what that was so I can improve upon that, but no big deal. Thanks for the advice.
/r/askTRP13/04/18 03:12 PM

May I ask how this is oneitis? Just trying to learn for the future. True, so no message back and just move on with the mission/vision? New to this, so just trying to learn as much as I can.

Good advice. Yeah, I mean that would be chill, but they are pretty new plates, so that would be kinda “going fast” (unless it isn’t, and then correct me if I’m wrong) if I invited them to my hometown. I see what you’re saying here though!

Interesting. Didn’t know that. That’s kinda weird tbh. Makes sense as I think about it though. We are kinda screwed over within our law system. I’m contemplating it! As of now, being single, I’m going to live this out though. It seems like the best option as of now.

Interesting that you’re married and come to this sub! I’ve found quite a lot of great information here is mainly why I asked and have come to the conclusion that not marrying provides he most freedom at the cost of no sex (as I am a Christian). But, maybe self-control is a virtue after all, lol. Yeah, I guess I was just wondering about the perspectives in this sub rather than someone selling me on it (considering I question a lot). Essentially, I want to be on a mission that doesn’t involve purs…

Thanks for sharing a TL;DR of your story. I came from the same kinda past and am finally realizing that what you said is true. Your advice sounds like a major pro to the MGTOW way of life as well. “Educate” meaning read and study? Where would you point someone in that direction? Yeah, exactly though, I am having a hard time swearing off women, but at the same time there seems to come so much freedom once I would do that. Great advice, thank you.
/r/MGTOW30/03/18 02:53 PM

“True for most of us”? What are you saying this in respect to? True though, I agree that freedom is preferable to living under someone else’s thumb. It’s definetly something that I think is beneficial from what I’ve seen so far. I just wanted to hear more specifically “why”. But what you say here makes sense.

Bahaha, to not be chained down sounds like so much more fun and free compared to the former. You’re right though, I have to make it an internal (instead of external) motivation and find what true freedom is to me. Thanks for this, interesting stuff to ponder.

I see what you’re saying about the icons. I guess where we differ is that I believe scripture is a part of tradition. I’m not one for “sola scriptura”. There was a lot that wasn’t written down that was still passed down (2 Thess. 2:15), and icons were have said, by tradition, to be one of those things from my research. However, I love hearing the other perspective as I am subject to being wrong. I still believe that icons aren’t against the 10 Commandments, but that’s just because I believe that…

Ah, yeah, I meant what you thought of things specifically, but you said that in your edit. I’m right there with you in all honesty (in referencing your “IMO” in your response). That’s what I believe as well. I think it’s really the true biblical way to look at things. I think things should be left up to the couple as well with prayer at the forefront.

I see! Yeah, I see the points you were making. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree though. Interesting thoughts on the allowance of three marriages (even with the RC perspective being sort of the same with “annulment” of marriages that I didn’t really feel the need to talk about) and sexual acts within marriage. The sexual acts within marriage thing is still something I’m pondering myself still, so it was great to talk to you about them! What do you think about sexual acts within marr…

I hear you! I disagree. But there’s no arguing your opinion. I would have to say that the goal in life is to become like Christ through His essence, which does kind of call us to put off the passions of this world (pride, lust, etc., etc.) and “put on Christ”... but to each their own! Technically, the Priest is an “intermediary”, but that’s only because I’m no where near knowing everything on my own. I’m always subject to being wrong and coming into prayer once again to see where I have erred. I…

“Economia” is something that is quite important here. We could talk on this for days giving hypotheticals for right and wrong, but it’s not the the EO church preaches that divorce is “okay”. It’s not the ideal whatsoever. Interesting hearing your perspective! I love diologue with RC’s.

I don’t think I am, but I hear what you’re saying! I’ve researched this quite a bit actually. Thanks for the link! The only thing that is dogmatic is that marriage is between a man and a woman. There isn’t an allowing of contraception as well. But ultimately, the Priest is to be talked to about matters like that. Not saying that it’s their personal interpretation, but that nothing in this life is “black and white”.

Technically, they don't. They recognize that there are circumstances that cause a breakdown in the relationship. Things such as infidelity, abuse, etc.. In that situation, the couple would ideally be excommunicated for a time (meaning they will not be allowed to take communion). If they remarry, and that's a big if, the wedding service is not sacramental like the first one. I think sometimes some priest are too lenient about this, but the canons are clear about this. the first marriage is the sa…

I’d be wary of Fr. Josiah Trenham. He also says that it’s not good to kiss or hold hands before one is married. Most of these things in his quote are up for debate and to be talked to with a Priest. I see what you’re saying though! Thanks for the thoughts.

This is a perfect example of where philosophy disguised as theology leads to incorrect answers. The author calls humility the "mother of all virtues" and then references several passages that say humility is a good thing. He very marginally makes an argument for why other virtues are derived from humility, but doesn't ever actually make his case - he just kind of says it. At best, he's using conventional thinking to amp up humility as the highest virtue. Orthodoxy isn't very juridical in how it …

This part conflicts with “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. Thanks for this post. Very enlightening. I always pursued women in the past and am still transitioning into a RP mindset rooted in Christ. So it seems we should be seeking after Christ and The Kingdom Of God and let women pursue us as we pursue our vision/mission. As of now, I’m on a combo of steps 1 and 2 (as it seems they can sort of overlap). Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, reminds me of Romans 8:28 a bit tbh. I agree, mission must come first. It seems to all be coming together now. Ah, this all makes sense a bit more now. Maybe I was mistaken pulling that word into this verse. After some reflection I think that I thought that “denying ourselves = emptying oneself”. I may be wrong in that assumption, but that was my thought process. So it’s more about aligning our lives with Christ’s purpose/mission/vision and abandoning our own set of ideologies and being transformed and renewed in our mind and to make deciples of all nations?
/r/RPChristians06/03/18 04:57 AM
1

I wasn’t saying that this is something that was to be taken literally, definetly a hyperbole or allegory. Doesn’t it mean to turn away from “the flesh” and pursue “virtue”? I could see it as to follow your burden, challenge, calling, and follow him for sure. To be fully vulnerable and to live in freedom on ones vision and mission rooted in Christ seems to be an interesting idea.
/r/RPChristians06/03/18 03:14 AM

But isn't taking up your cross and emptying your ego and following Christ's frame/life by following his call to bring others to Him through how we live the same thing? Doesn't Christ call us to empty ourselves of our ego by saying "he must deny himself"? Yes, Philippians 2:3 is a passage I find that links to this one pretty well. I see what you are saying here, but didn't Christ call us to "kenosis", and in turn, come into union with us as Christians so that we could follow him? (Kenosis, meanin…

So pretty much these are all subjective boundaries that I would set in place using the "If you want to follow me or be my disciple, you must _. If you don't do _, you can't follow me or be my disciple." framework of what Christ taught? It seems like one builds these boundaries depending on what they personally feel are right. Does that make sense? Christ seems to take suffering on and says about his life: "No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it do…

Nah, I mean "boundaries" in a way of not letting others walk all over you. Not in the way of making myself more holy. Ah, maybe I wasn’t very clear on what I mean by boundaries. I mean moreso “boundaries” in the sense of what “No More Mr Nice Guy” by Donald Glover says about healthy boundaries and establishing them. But Paul and Jesus seem to be clear enough that we should not be actively pursuing a spouse. We are to be actively pursuing God. Yes, exactly. I read the sidebar, but talking to girls and game were something I feel like we're more translated into a "develop your frame and keep on your mission and girls will come to you". Just trying to learn from experience. Thanks for the advice here.

I hear you. This makes sense. Thanks for the feedback. Mind if I ask what the best resource you know on how to approach/meet other girls is? I read through the sidebar, but I guess the answer would be "keep developing my frame and my mission and girls will come to me", but any other advice? I know this is going off of the OP, but I like to learn.

So ... you've got an ex who knows you're not interested, but wants to get the benefits of your time, attention, and affection anyway. AWALT. Yeah... I know... but part of me is interested in keeping the option open for the future if that makes sense. That's a reason I considered texting back (I haven't yet, nor will I until I'm adamant about something that would bring her into my frame). I see though... AWALT. Agreed. What do you want to do? I want to keep the option open potentially in the futu…

So she wanted to be friends, but then she didn't want to, because somewhere in the middle of those two sentences you told her you couldn't...? I couldn't be her friend right after the breakup because there wasn't enough time to readjust to that mindset right after breaking up with her. She wanted to stay friends throughout this whole period, but I said I couldn't at the moment. What exactly did you/do you need to "heal" from? I more said that so I could transition from thinking of her as a partn…

Yeah, in the future it seems that saying that I need time to heal is a big “no”. Thanks for the advice about ghosting and moving on with abundance mentality. Agreed. I see. Yeah, I haven’t messaged her back and have ignored her so far. If I do send a message I’ll send something along those lines though. Good advice, thanks. So, just to learn, entering her frame would be responding to her text and answering her? Just trying to understand that idea. I agree about AWALT. Thanks for sharing truth wi…

It does feel that way. It sounds like she’s asking me rhetorically about me though, not someone else. Essentially she wants to tecconect and talk with me even though we are long distance and my agenda is wanting to keep it open-ended for potential connection in the future, but not right now considering long distance.
/r/askTRP02/03/18 02:53 PM

I may send that message. I see what you’re saying here though, very smart. Yeah, my agenda is more just keeping the option to connect open firvtge future, however, there’s no way to connect with her now because of long distance. Yeah, don’t want a pen pal. Lol...
/r/askTRP02/03/18 02:50 PM

Essentially I want to keep it open-ended for the possibility of connection in the future considering I can’t be close to her (because of long distance) now.

It's all good. I see. This makes sense. I guess I'll send something like that and then just not respond. It feels weird not responding, but I know why it's better to not respond. Thanks for the advice here.

Interesting. Do you mean a phone call by "catch up then"? I don't live near her, so I'm just trying to clarify what you mean by this. New to TRP, so I appreciate the advice.

Ah, I see. How would you say one should approach that in the future instead of saying "I need time to heal"? I'm new to TRP recently.

I guess I was just caught off-guard by the text. Hmm, I really can't think of a "win" considering she is 10 hours away from me. I wouldn't really get anything out of the conversation except "friendship" (if that makes sense). But, I can't see her purely as a friend, so that may not be a good idea. I'm new to TRP, so I don't fully understand what you mean by "win". But what I would be getting out of the conversation would mainly just be the conversation itself considering she is long distance (10…

I’ll add what I gleaned from it as the whole thing really just goes to show that the image of God is more along the lines of “virtues” rather than anything segregated by “male” and “female” qualities.

This is exactly what I came to when I researched the word “porneia”... that’s why I still question it. Consensual sex doesn’t seem like a crime to me. That’s also something I was questioning too... Solomon did have so many concubines and if they were a “blessing” then what is the implication for us in today’s day and age? I definetly want to date someone (eventually a LTR) with the same beliefs I have so I am “equally yolked”. u/Red-Curious

Interesting. Yeah, in my last relationship I started out this way and then gave into temptation (unfortunately), but I saw that it did create more desire towards me now upon reflection. Thanks for this. What do you mean by don’t “DEER”? Isn’t it good to explain why to them?

I can’t control them, lol. If that’s their idea of the goal of a relationship they definetly aren’t future thinking. It’s only one aspect of a relationship I’ve found.

But if a woman wants to have sex with a man, she usually does. Exactly. If he says no, she will get it elsewhere or - she HAS gotten it elsewhere - because honestly, I have never seen a good christian girl act like she wants sex first ( within the couple) while not already having had some experience with it. That is kinda why I asked this question as well. This is something that I've thought about and wondered about too. What if they go somewhere else for it?
/r/RPChristians29/01/18 09:04 PM

I was more asking this question because I want to know for the future. I just broke up with my ex (just for some reference to why I asked this) and we did have sex in our relationship (I have also had sex with 2 other girls prior in LTR's). This is all new stuff to me, so that's why I'm asking all of this, to build a framework for future success. I definitely want to avoid shame and guilt, as there is no fear in love, but this is also something I'm wondering too. How does one avoid this shame an…

Ah, yes, this makes sense. As my goal is to be a Marriage and Family Therapist, it’s been drilled into me that emotional connection is the way to create a foundation for dating. This all makes sense though! I appreciate all of this. I really do want a woman that can help me on my mission alongside me. Ah, this makes sense. It sounds like communication is key. I’m 22, so it’s a difficult period in which a lot of the girls I’m interested in and just looking for ONS’s and I’m all like “will I ever find a woman that wants the foundation of the emotional connection (pre-marriage) before sex?”, haha... that’s why I asked this. I agree with everything you say here. I just would be wary in slipping into pride. I don't mean to say that you are prideful, I would just say that I've thought something like this before and it created a pride within me. Interesting. I was having a convo on r/OrthodoxChristianity the other day and they said that Fr. Josiah was very hardline and wasn't really seen as someone to follow 100%. The BJ to completion thing is new to me. I don't see how that is unbiblical considering Song of Solomon has oral sex in it. Never done anal, so idk about that. Absolutely - we're all here for a purpose and we need to figure out a life's mission to pursue. For those of us that are Christians, that mission needs to be congruent with our faith and beliefs, and also pursued in a manner that is consistent with our values as Christians. That is absolutely not compatible with Feminism as Feminism seeks to subordinate men so they serve women as their first priority, and not God's purpose for us (or for those that don't believe, not whatever other mission they …

Premarital sex, then, would be akin to God trying to generate spiritual life by uniting himself with a non-believer. It just doesn't make sense. 1 Cor. 6 and 2 Cor. 6 both make it clear that God is not to be united with an unbeliever - that light should not become one with darkness. I have no idea what this means lol. Sounds like bluepill nonsense, no offense None taken, I meant that it creates an emotional attachment that is harder for my brain to detach from, or something along those lines that makes me see them without their flaws. Yeah, I like that there are different interpretations. It's always good to hear all different side imo. That makes sense though, I'm thinking the same thing after just getting out of a relationship with my ex. You're right about the "not a sin" doesn't equal "ideal". Yeah, I always thought this was the truth and still kinda think it is. Coming from being an atheist this is all new to me as well, haha. Ah, my bad, I misunderstood. I’d guess just by how they answer questions. It’s hard to know on the first date. I’d say after two dates you’ll have a feel for if they are.
