More of the world's population has been intact throughout history than circumscribed. The vast majority of intact men have never had an issues with being intact. Being circumcised can cause a number of issues too, like my friends son had skin adhesions and others have bridges, or were cut too tight, loss of sensitivity, etc.

She was undecided before circumcising her 1st, but she did because her husband (who is a nurse) was pretty insistent on it. Afterward, she made some comments about how traumatic it was and how the doctor said that ‘it was normal for the diaper to look like a crime scene’. I also found out that her 1st had skin adhesions, so I am sure that helped too.

Thank you. In my state, around 90% of babies are circumcised. Even more adults. So, I don’t have many people I can ask about these sort of things.

I am a 25 year old woman. I don't know if I would consider either situation 'rape', but I think they should both be illegal. Maybe under the name of 'entrapment' instead of 'rape'. Unfortunately, it is much easier for a women to lie about birth control than it is for a man to lie about wearing a condom.

That is true. Though, I don't see the benefit of reporting him... Would I press charges against him? I don't have any sort of proof. And, if I didn't press charges, why would I bring it up? Would the police search his house for child porn if he last assulted me 15 years ago when he was 14? I would be ruining his whole life, and I have no reason to suspect he is attracted to children now.

Okay, so you are totally off base here. I have 4 brothers, and I know what is 'normal brotherly fighting' and what is 'sexual abuse'. I should have been more clear in my post. He was a young teenager at the time…so just a child also. He found out about porn too young and I was the only female around him. It was quite a shame really. It has been 15 years since it happened. I can honestly say that I don’t think he is a pedophile or a threat to todays society.

Oh, for sure! I have no doubt that men get assaulted just as likely, and are even more likely not to speak up about it. My comment was directly in response to the OP about women’s assault though, so that is why I didn’t bring it up.

I am honestly not sure what % of women have told others about their sexual assault. I would imagine those that had it happen to them as children would be less likely to tell. I am sure a lot of women (like me) are fine posting about it anonymously, but they don’t want to tell people they know. You are correct in that it will always be impossible to get an accurate statistic on this sort of thing.

I am a 25 year old woman. For starters, I do not think that those statistics are even close to accurate. But, with that being said: Just because you don’t not know of women being harassed, raped, etc. doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. My brother, who is now quite well adjusted and successful, molested me for years when I was a kid. He tried to get my cousin in on it too, but thankfully, that didn’t happen. Guess who knows? No one. I am sure that many deliberately choose to be stay at home moms, but I would argue that a lot of families don't really have a choice like you are implying. Daycare in my area is ~$20K. If a spouse is making an average income of $40-$50K/year, and they have 2 children, it only makes sense that someone stays home. Because women usually make less than men, it is more often that they would stay home (on top of the fact that they can heal from labor, breastfeed, etc.). Maybe it is just where I live t…

You are 100% right, though I think it happens with adult male/child male relationships as well. It is the same reason that some people get uncomfortable with a male working at a nursery or daycare. Its quite sad really. I am a married woman, and my husband will probably end up being a SAHD one day (he has the option to work weekend shift, so it just makes sense). It upsets me to think he might have issues watching our children at the playground or calming our screaming toddler in a grocery store…

I disagree...they seem extremely comparable to me. So, it is okay for the shop to discriminate against women, because you need a specific skill set to work there? What if qualified women have applied in the 20+ years and have been denied? Is it discrimination then? I work in an office with all University educated people. If we all of a sudden stopped hiring men because our men's restroom was closed, it would still be discrimination.

I (24F) wouldn’t necessarily think this is a telling sign. I was molested many times by my older brother as a child. No one, including my husband, knows. Though, if it was out, it would definitely be something that I would disclose to my husband as early as possible. Some of that stuff gets more awkward and difficult to share the longer you wait.
