Yikes! That Dead Bedroom sub has 50,000 subscribers, and it really is a window into the American marriage scene. I'm a lifelong bachelor because marriage and children always seemed like a trap and a recipe for misery to me. I started seeing things that way from my late-teens on. Life experience and watching pretty much everyone I've ever known fall into the wasteland of marriage has only solidified my views on the toxic desert of marriage and children. I have four brothers, all married in their …

"This person hates disabled people!" Yeah, that's a clue to this guy's character. Then going after someone's job because they hurt your feelings is, as you said, a dog act. Pretty low.

Our point here is that the OP's behavior wasn't MGTOW at all. Seeking vicious revenge against a perceived slight is not a man going his own way. It's a man going the same female way.

Naw. I just try to act like a dignified man. If you want to be respected as a man, you have to act like a man. Going to war against a grumpy old lady clerk is beneath my dignity as a man.

Now you're just being silly. There's this simple concept where two things can be true at the same time. The clerk could well be a complete monster. But the OP's reaction shows FAR less character than anything the clerk did. There's a clerk at my local Rite-Aid who is a complete pain to deal with. Do I get triggered and flipped out by her? No. I just avoid her line. There. Problem solved. One of my local Safeways has a deli department full of rude, unpleasant a-holes. Do I go into a narcissistic …

Your rage-filled ad hominem attacks don't address the issue. Was the OP's reaction more like a woman's, or more like a man's?

I'm a troll for stating that your reaction is what I'd expect from a woman with Borderline Personality Disorder, rather than a stable, mature man?

Can you really respect a man who reacts like a woman? Everything about the OP's story reads like a woman's reaction to being scorned.

Wow, you are a complete fucking asshole. Just a thorough douchebag. Was the cashier an asshole, too? Sure. But you're a bigger one. A more complete one. And anyone who has worked retail or restaurant knows exactly who you are and what you're about. You pulled a chick move. I'd expect that kind of vicious reaction to a bruised ego from a woman, but never from a man. Not a real man.

I live in the S.F. Bay Area, which does make everything pretty expensive. So yes, you can always go cheaper, but at some point you have to get some kind of pleasure from food. Chicken is cheaper than beef, but chicken gets old quickly without a lot of herbs or butter or something to make it palatable. I can eat $6/pound beef just plain, every day, but inexpensive chicken doesn't fill me with much gusto. For me and my situation anything less than $12 a day leaves me feeling a little down about li…

You have it right: doable, and NOT healthy. When I've been in broke-ass mode, I've gone with Shredded Wheat and Grape-Nuts cereal for a week at a time. That combo will fill you up and keep you alive until payday, but oh man, the BLOAT! Living that way too many times taught me how to manage my money better. Money still gets tight sometimes, but I hate being THAT broke. I really hate it.

As for Spartan eating... For years (decades, really. I'm 54), I went the home-cooking route, buying the basics and spending all that time on meal prep. Get it all cooked and prepped and packed in a small cooler for lunch and dinner. The best I could do came out to $12 a day food budget. Of course you can go cheaper by eating nothing but processed wheat and corn products, but that's no way to live. Now I eat some almonds and raisins and maybe an apple or orange in the morning, and go out for one …

That MGTOW.com website is a real mess. The layout and UX would have been bad back in the 90s.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
