I don't think you are a monster, bufedad, and I don't think you want to be a monster. You may be right that monsters are noticed... that they aren't ignored. But I am not sure I agree that "people question how monsters are created." People say that, sure. No matter who we are or what our circumstances in life are, no matter any injustice done to us in any point of life, we shouldn't be advocating for or making light of suicide. It is sexist for a journalist to (seemingly, I haven't gone and read it) flippantly treat the suicide of men as a passing statistic and only take notice of or express concern for the deaths of females, sure. While I can see this being representative of the larger pattern (which is a disturbing, disappointing, and damaging trend of giving women more lenient sentencing), there may be a slightly relevant factor in these cases where the man's interaction and communication with the "girl" online was presumably in a text format, and so the communication barrier of one party being deaf likely didn't actually matter in the exchange.
