Join a martial arts gym (e.g. jiu-jitsu) and train often. Get beers with your training partners after class/sparring.

Just own up to the fact you aren't willing to do what it takes. It's a choice you're making,

That's the joke: it all depends on your frame of reference.

I'm no expert, but I would train in an art that matches your weak spots. Speaking for myself, when I started BJJ I thought my strength would really help. Instead it showed me my cardio and flexibility sucked. I would be rolling around with a 120 lb girl, and after 2 minutes I would be so worn out trying to submit her, that she would easily take me at a point of weakness. Whatever you choose, stick to some real fighting (e.g. BJJ, sambo, boxing) rather than some mall karate.

You'd probably want to cross-train BJJ with a striking art (e.g. Muay Thai). That said, you'll get your ass handed to you as a BJJ white belt. The first time you try to bench-press a purple belt who's got side-control, will make you understand your place in the world.

Just look at Louis C.K.'s take on it; where Charlie Rose... Charles Grodin. His characters are apex bitter.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
