Because the conservative option, at least politically, calls for a reduction of the apparatus that is inherently anti-men. Less handouts to women (IE taxes) and a general leave-me-be attitude are perfectly good conservative opinions. As for the societal part of the conservative thought, I couldn't give a shit.
