Well I would say then, if you are going to officially divorce- then you should be fine if you make no claims on those homes. And it should not stop the process. Being apart as long as you have been, divorce is now a clerical thing - and you could potentially do it yourself

Have you been separated this entire time? More than likely you’ll have no claim on these homes. Is she still “owner” on the first home?

I’m assuming that you earned a lot more than she did? If you need to show your financials, no matter where you put it she’s gonna see it… I would put it in the place that makes you the most stable. If you’re worried about your mortgage payment cost, then lower that, however, putting it into a short term, money market or high interest savings account would be beneficial because it could still say liquid.

What are you most worried about? Losing tax benefits? Or that the Ex will try and seek something more? When you say she is high conflict, why did she get to see your financials every year and you don’t get to see her’s?

Really read what stoicism is about. It’s not just “pressing on” emotionless

Nope. She’s a piece of shit but my child isn’t- my child is worth every ounce of pain that I had... and I’m so happy with my little one in my life.

This is Divorce_Men - it’s cathartic to be able to say this in a space meant for us. Anger is a multi faceted thing and sometimes when I am angry I may, in that moment, believe ALL women are this way... Now, I calm down and vent, using this subreddit to express that anger, then I come back to reality and understand that’s my emotions talking... and not all women are like that. I do hope you let women know it is also #notALLmen or #notALLHusbands Also, you don’t understand crime - generalizations…

I have 50/50 and it still hurts when my daughter isn’t here, but it is what my daughter needs... the courts will hopefully be on your side and provide 50/50 for your kids... Remember, it’s more for them than the parents... My ex wife still tries to attack me with it at least once a month. She sucks. If she doesn’t get her way she threatens court and more. I know we aren’t supposed to bash the other parent... but stand strong... these women are in a society where they are taught they are the care…

How old are they? Also, do your rules state anything about time or frequency? Do you have any custody and can you find away to move closer? I would try and build a consistent schedule which will be part of their normal life.

Anyway you can fight for 50% custody? I have my daughter every other week and it’s the best thing. Maybe fighting for more than she or anyone else expects you to fight for, you have a better shot. At least that’s what I think.

Yeah. I had to fake all through the first Christmas. It was shitty. Word of advice... find a way to communicate it on your terms, not hers. Fuck her

It’s so difficult, but dude... she’s cheating and and you win. It hurts and it sucks... but she’s the loser here

I have my daughter every other week and those weeks without her I miss her so much it hurts, but time has healed this pain. I dedicate the time I have with her to US and the weeks without I communicate as much as I can. I'm sorry you're feeling so pained and sad... it gets better in a weird way... you'll never stop missing them... I cope by staying busy and getting things I can't do when she is around, done. Visit friends and etc.

Make sure you test and explore the possibility you have some version of depression. It might not be overt.

Nice. I'll check it out.

Exactly. I'll never get married again. My daughter is too important to me to risk putting her in any danger... one crazy EX is enough

I'm sitting here angry, too. I wish I had words of wisdom, but I do not. However, I can say that anger serves no good and it really is on you (and me) to defeat it. Anger only causes me pain. She will never see her role in the failure of our marriage. She is blind because of her own anger. The more I defeat it, the more I see my role and what she did... and then I can learn and never make those mistakes again. It's done. Do not stay angry.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
