I think all the points are true. Ego is wounded, there's a lesson to learn, and I am angry at myself. If I had to do it again, it would be better if I wouldn't be so thirsty for validation and attention. The biggest drawback I have had is the need to prove myself. To others. That's what got shat on by almost everyone in my life. I find it hard to blame myself for the behaviour. I didn't have the necessary mental/emotional instruments developed to navigate social game in an ideal way. And it does…

OYS #2 Stats 29M, 5'7", 62kg, Married 1.25 Years This is turning out to be an effective way of holding myself accountable. I look forward to every Saturday where the first activity is reflecting on the past week and measuring my efforts against my goals in life, talking about them, and getting honest feedback. Swift decision about hiring a new web developer in my team Hiring is a pain. I am a one man shop and not the most attractive place to work for in the city. Candidates keep taking offer let…

Food is a big part of the social life here, which drives weight up. I tried getting wife to lose weight in the starting days but it was always a big struggle. I grew tired of policing her so much and I started doubting myself if being fit was really important - because her entire family (extended family included) is a bunch of laid backs but are pretty happy, jolly, and have a secure life because of the fortunes inherited from their parents/grand parents. Leaving wife behind won't work because o…

What kind of changes do you mean/recommend? And what kind of discomfort? What's waah? Seeing the world for what it actually is - in what regards/sense?

OYS #1 Stats 29M, 5'7", 62kg, Married 1.25 Years Problems Stuck with a dysfunctional and abusive family - beta/enabling dad, bitchy/bipolar/paranoid/narc mom, bullying siblings. Low on energy - Was irrationally confident and idealistic in my early-mid 20's - doing startups, growing business, building a bigger home, etc. Late 20s became more practical, got married, started behaving responsible and thinking about the future. Care-taking for ageing parents and stay at home wife. I feel tied down. S…

BTW, I and others can give you several recommendations in this regard -- books that you will both actually ENJOY reading (no "book report" needed), and you will also LEARN a shitload about life from (or at least begin to have an inking of things you've never really considered or thought about before, etc). This would be awesome.

Not sure about that, but you can call me ignorant and I will accept. That's why I am trying to figure out things by asking more experienced people.

You said you got family support in the first case. Wife is a part of family, isn't she? after marriage?

Yea it's an option, but very difficult to find such people.

A bit confused. aren't the MGTOW actually going to die without spreading their genes? And the ones who are weak do the opposite through marriage?

Let's say a person wants to move from the kind you mention in the first paragraph to the kind you mention in the second one. How to accomplish that? That kind of self confidence is a must no matter what the relationship status is.

Okay, that really was hard to swallow. But I guess the patient needs it.

Doesn't this sound like some form of ego stroking? Is it wrong to live in communities or with others?

Facing up to our own mortality is part of growing up I really like this line. But do you think it's easier to do it with a fulltime-friend by your side? Don't get me wrong, I am in my mid 20s and the threads I read on various subreddits here about happy marriages makes it sound very very happy and satisfying. They call their SOs their other half with whom they share their lives. It really sounds amazing.

Doesn't that feel like a worst case scenario? Women might be wired differently, but are they that cruel? And are all of them that cruel?

What do you think of cultures where society is very conservative and divorces are stigmatized. The social structure forces the marriage to stay intact and prevent branch swinging. Do you think in such cases the marriage might have better prospects by eliminating the opportunism for women?

Does the realization really work when you are down. In my experience it just feels like a mental hack for peace of mind. But when the chips are down things could go ugly.
/r/MGTOW11/10/17 11:32 AM

A lot of it revolves around the consequences of divorce for men. Don't you think a simple prenup solves that?

I know someone who just had a really invasive surgery and lives alone. I can't imagine how once can go through that. The person had a real bad time going through that alone. The doctor also disapproved of not having someone with him.

I agree that fear shouldn't drive relationship decisions and that I need to know how to take care of myself. But I feel that you assume that a wife will be emotionally unstable, etc?

Don't you think that facing such a situation specially at a young age could bring a lot of regret making you feel as though it was a wrong choice to go on your own way? Seeing friends being supported by their families when they are down could make you question your unconventional choices. Do you get scared by that thought?

If you ask your friends and neighbours repeatedly for things that the society assumes is a family's responsibility, doesn't it feel bad or obligatory? Everyone has their own issues in life and seem to be busy dealing with it. Whats a red state/blue state?

I am less tired, less distracted, can focus on work and health. Also I feel that there is a pattern behind fapping: Discomfort because of health issues, specially digestive. Bored and got nothing better to do. Mentally overwhelmed. Porn seems a better choice than reading a book or talking to a friend I mostly integrated healthy habits in my routine which makes me forget about fapping. I feel freedom and lightness staying away from fapping. Fapping leads to tiredness and feeling of guilt that I w…

The feeling of accomplishment in the gym does give me satisfaction and an ego boost. But isn't that different from self love?

I would add that you need to be careful not just from women, but also from BP men specially the ones who have been in relationships with their frames invaded by their SOs. They can really really distort your thinking.

Gymming is the #1 advice on this forum. Does it really bring that kind of benefits? Can it change the attitude and mindset of a person from beta to alpha that effectively? It almost feels like a cure-all thingy that's thrown around in this forum.

How do you recognize winners? In the mid twenties like me, it's hard to evaluate if a person is a winner or not. Any ideas?

I can relate to the loyaly angle. I feel the same towards my friends. Even though I recognize that people (not just women) can buy your loyalty by using nice words and appreciating you, it's difficult to break that conditioning and make sure that your loyalty is not in exchange for a few sweet words. How would you deal with that?

I really feel guilty if I have refuse to help someone. It almost feels like a crime. I know that the issue will be resolved even without my intervention but in the moment that 'knowing' doesn't help and I give in. It's hard to act based on what I know.

I do stuff like solving problems of other people that should be and can be solved by themselves. I have a hard time saying no, because they always start the conversation by praising me. So I guess it's similar to buying dinner for girls for calling me a good guy. I don't value other people's opinion too much. Some friends have casually called out on me at times, but I still feel good, because that's some attention I am getting. I think of it as a joke and laugh with others.

Woah! didn't expect such a philosophical lifting related response to my question at all. What's 1 RM? I go to the gym 5 days a week and have a personal trainer. My lifting capacity has gone 3 folds in the last 6 months. I don't know whether thats good enough. But yea, I am kinda plateaued at that level.
