A general rule of thumb: men and women cannot be friends. Oh, how I cringe at the thought of men who were my “friend” during my college years. Focus on yourself and nurturing your female friendships!!

Once you have the baby, you won’t want to return to work and you’ll be so happy you have the blessing of the option to stay home. Best to plan now for the transition! I will also add — it’s impossible to understand what I’m saying until that baby is in your arms. ❤️

You didn’t get here overnight and you won’t get outta here overnight. I have definitely gotten into funks like this in my life. My best advice to you, something that you can change today, is to go for a walk after dinner and pray before you fall asleep. Start these practices today and do them every single day. Dedicate 30 minutes per day to this. The length of a sitcom. It’s something so small, but so kind to yourself. I bet it will lift your spirits and perhaps give you the motivation to tackle…

I want to chime in to encourage you to come up with a plan for what will happen once baby comes. You said you’ve been working 6 days a week between two jobs — I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that you are in the US and that those jobs do not provide any kind of maternity leave beyond what the government requires which will be 6 weeks. I think when we are pregnant with our first, 6 weeks sounds reasonable and we picture ourselves going back to work no problem — that is so not the case. Pl…

If a man wants you, he will move mountains to get you. You’ve made contact. Time to sit back and let him pursue IMO.

You’re married. He’s right. Who in their right mind would DTR with a married woman? Get divorced, then you’re free to be in a committed relationship.

Do you have access to a working device with internet connection or a public library?

Alcoholism is a progressive disease. Binge drinkers are alcoholics. If you are serious about him and your relationship, stop drinking with him and stop keeping it in the house at all. What’s more important, your glass of wine per day and his binging or your future? Signed, almost 10 years sober together with my husband and happily married with children.

My dad passed away during the height of Covid lockdowns and we were denied access to him in the hospital. I watched his anointing of the sick on FaceTime. This changed my world view in a way that I can’t greatly explain, but so much for the better. I love who I am today and consider this new vision the last gift my father bestowed upon me.

Eat less! That’s honestly all there is to it. Sometimes it’s hard for us to wrap our brains around that but I promise you it works.

As a woman (30F) who went through this exact scenario a few months pre-wedding, including the loss of my dad, etc (very similar)… I can confirm after losing 30 pounds (5’6 from 165 to 135), that losing the weight is a huge part of the solution here. No amount of talking about the elephant in the room solved the problem for me in my marriage. It was a true case of “actions speak louder than words.” Good luck and stay strong & motivated! I know how awful it feels 🤍

I was in no way accusing you or him of not properly caring for your child. It’s simply not the norm for new parents to be going off on separate vacations to go partying. That mindset is not indicative of family life. I think this is a reap what you sow situation. If you are not ready to give up that lifestyle, then we couldn’t expect him to be either as the leader. It does not matter what the intentions are for the respective trips, it’s all about actions. It would be in your best interest to ha…

At 28 with a newborn, I think that you are both in the wrong here. Taking trips to places to dress up & drink do not fit into married / family life IMO. I am surprised new parents are planning separate trips like this 2 months after their child was born. Does he have intentions of marrying you?

They are venting out to him because he allows it. Put yourself in the shoes. Say you have a coworker who likes to chit chat and over-share. It is really bothering you and you don’t like their complaining nature. What do you do? Allow them to steamroll all over you OR stand up for yourself and your physical / mental space? Your boyfriend has the same choice.

A leader says “I don’t want to talk to you” A follower says “my gf doesn’t want me to talk to you.” This man is treating you horribly and you do not deserve it at all.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
