I’d start by seeing if her place is an option - she may even prefer that. Be subtle but clear. For example, say you’re texting and she mentions she’s watching something, say “ah I’d love to watch that show! Mind if I join you? I’ll bring ice cream.” If a motel is your only option then that’s going to be difficult. I’d start by going out for drinks and if it goes well then suggest the motel.

Exactly this. Remember, she’s not stupid, if you’re asking to hang out 1-1 last minute, especially late at night, and she says yes, then she’s at the very least curious. The most desirable people are incredibly sensitive to your insecurities, and if you’re just following some script from a dating coach they’ll smell that shit and disappear. Come back to this when you’ve discovered that you’re inherently valuable and worthy of the kinds of people you want to date.

That no matter what I did, I was just destined to have a ceiling on the types of people I could date. I’d even “made my peace” with it and was mostly okay with my “place in society”. Then a few things happened in the space of about three years. First was that my father passed away from cancer when I was 25, which was the fir…
