I moved into my four bedroom house a month ago. I've got a master and a guest bedroom, a sewing room and a gym/office. It's great! For the first time in my life I'm not compromising on all the things I want to do in my home.

I keep my nails done with at home Shellac polish. I used to go to a salon regularly and my nails were longer wearing after that but I still get at least a week out of an at home manicure. I work with my hands a lot so I wear gloves at work, and when doing housework. It's still takes effort and awareness but I feel so polished and put together with my nails done. I've joined a not-America military and it's actually been the best. I've had incredible experiences and the self growth has been something else. My unit is by far the most diverse workplace I've ever been a part of and has exposed me to so many new people and new perspectives. I love the challenge of it. TL;DR This might be an American issue.

How do I rewire my brain to expect better? I totally would have been like "oh yeah that makes sense for sure I can come meet you" but it's so obviously low effort for literally the very first date. And OP when you push back he scrambles to make it more equitable (though still not really much more effort). How do I make my brain have any level of expectations at all??

Be warned: this article is heavy on the statistics and light on the argument. My takeaway is that across populations women are seeing less that's marriageable among men and the logical end result is less marriage occurring. The comments still speculate heavily on "what are women thinking??" rather than the audacity of men feeling they're owed marriage without self-development. Tell me again how falling marriage rates are a women's issue?

I really like the term "caring responsibilities". It's difficult to phrase all the things that women do around the household that don't even get noticed until they're not done. I think this term captures the nature and burden of all those things.

Sometimes people are just looking to vent. I know I do that sometimes to the people around me that I'm close to. I usually let them know when I just need them to listen and sympathize. I try to figure out what they need from me when they come to me with their problems. I don't go looking for pity often though...

It just drives me crazy how all that trp drivel is all about the goal of fucking, of consumption, of control. This place? This place is about PROTECTION. There are similar words said about self-respect and personal value but the one spreads harm and toxicity through communities while the other builds people up.
