There's no system here except biology (can't be changed) and the marriage contract (unbiased, you both made the exact same promises to each other). This FBI report has the number at 8%, which is about 1 in 12. Not as high as CrossHook claimed, but also four times greater than the normal false reporting rate of 2% for other crimes. It's on page 20 of the PDF page counter, page 24 by the numbers written on the actual document. That report is from 1996 though so its numbers are a bit outdated. I can't seem to find any more recent source (although admittedly I didn't Google for long) so perhaps CrossHook is referring to newer information.

I've seen the boy-girl advert a couple of times on TV, and yes the ones they show are pretty one-sided, but the website itself is actually very good. It has a whole massive section in the FAQ about male victims of abuse which deals with it very well IMO, especially the second paragraph, and there is another bit about women as perpetrators. I would like to see an advert going the other way though, with a woman as perpetrator. It would have a huge impact I imagine.

Ask what the rules are on warnings for poor performance. There is probably some system where if you are underperforming you should get a verbal warning, then a written warning etc etc before being pulled from a team. If there is no paper trail (which there won't be) ask why you were never informed by the supervisor or your boss before being moved. Department of Justice: 17.6% of female rape victims are raped by strangers. Almost 1 in 5 is not something that "doesn't generally happen". It looks good if companies can say "look we have this woman on our board of directors, we're so diverse!" Why would any group want to put themselves at a disadvantage? Women also being required to sign up for SS would not be putting themselves at a disadvantage. It would be removing the advantage they currently have. It would be giving them the equality they usually say they want.

The catalyst for victims of Savile coming forward was his death, not his public naming. He had been accused several times while he was still alive. In March 2008 the Sun linked him to child abuse in a children's home. It was very well publicised, but none of the other victims came forward. Then, when he died, they all emerged. I agree, but the phrasing of the question is important, crucially the last three words "as males do". It's not asking whether you agree with SS at all, it's asking whether you think women should have to do it the same as men currently have to. I could rephrase the question like so: Given that males are required to register for SS when they turn 18, should females also be required to do the same?
