I think it's interesting this collage of ideas: The man naturally will get prominence and power, thus he becomes The White Knight, thus is the unequal defender of women, thus is not respected despite his prominence and power, and cast away to work and war and an early death.

If you discount the struggle of women everywhere to get consistent equal treatment, you've already misunderstood what I said. Feminism plays a crucial role for women everywhere. That you discredit the importance and in fact condone the abolition of Feminism alone, you've already misunderstood what it means to have rights as a man. Women are still treated like less across the board (even occasionally but blatantly at my job), but inversely men are expected to behave, think, feel a certain way (an…

I disagree. Why is it still presumed here that men naturally have power and women are naturally always apt to just challenge that power? Are we hung up on the physical aspect? It's unclear to me how women are presumed to have the better hand. I do think we should always work toward an equal and just society, but I think presumed trains of thought like this do the most destruction. As it stands by your reasoning, men are thrown to work, war, and early death; and women are left to clean house, ? g…

I was in a relationship with a guy for a year who was actively Men's Rights and it definitely spawned an interest in what it means to be a Feminist VS Men's Rights Activist. He often said both poignant and ignorant things, but mostly I had never considered to think of Men's Rights or give much thought to what it means to be Feminist. Thanks to Reddit I can explore these things fully, getting a solid snapshot of many different opinions.

I will; thank you for suggesting this. I haven't been on Reddit for long (less than a year) and I forget the limitless ways you can connect with others in any subreddit on here.

If my words without the I Am A Woman still ring true, it doesn't matter that I prefaced with my gender. Gender isn't the problem. It's how we proceed to treat each other because of it as a result.

I was catering my post to this idea that only men are MRA's and women are Feminists based on some of the sexist comments I saw in /r/mensrights. I don't think enough women make themselves known as MRA's, and it's important to know that women aren't selfish feminists and are willing to investigate the other side. I hear more about men being Feminists than I ever hear women being MRA's. And I think it's important to call it out when I'm making commentary, constructively, on MRA especially when I a…

I think it's easy to assume that each cause is an exclusive club where The Other is NOT ALLOWED and Wouldn't Understand. It's easy to marginalize when you're feeling victimized, and it's easy to write off people who wouldn't "naturally" associate with your cause based on what you feel they "probably would" associate with. So when someone says, "Hey, I'm from the other side and that shit's BULLSHIT." it's eye-catching.

Many women/feminists think feminism is about women being right or first always while disregarding men (and about how men owe women more based on past historical transgressions), but it's about acknowledging a woman's strength and abilities as a person. Edit: i said "people" at first, but i think it's easy for women specifically to say they're feminist just because they have vaginas without really understanding what they say they believe. Edit: extrapolation.

In my opinion, sexism, feminism, and men's rights are a waste of time. Ultimately, [sexism and] the presumption of someone's behavior harms everyone. Sexism begets feminism begets men's rights; and everyone is slaughtering everyone else in a hurry to prove they are more oppressed; everyone forgets what it means to connect with other people as equals and no one wins. People continually lose the ability to see strength in each other.

Isn't sexism about stereotyping and prejudice based on sex? So presuming a woman will complain is sexism; just like making a man "take it on the chin" and hike for a piss is also sexism.

This is the first time I've heard of unisex bathrooms that host more than 1 occupant. Just did a little Google search and it's interesting to compare social "norms"; and it's interesting that it's not something I'd even considered a thing.

Isn't the expectation that women will complain just as egregiously sexist as forcing men to accept inconvenience because of the "Women & Children First" idea?

I definitely see this with many men I know.

Are these restrooms designed to host 1 or multiple people?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
