Scrolling through /new , seems like it just means unleashing one's misogyny more so than usual. Perhaps the aim is to purge out the female posters?

True wealth is mostly invisible Perhaps it's better to say it's not loud, but if you are observant, you can definitely identify and classify different types of wealth just by watching people: dress, bearing and interaction style. This isn't certainly isn't foolproof, and it's limited to a certain pool of wealthy, but the aim isn't to be a universal wealth detector, it's just to pick your targets.

Certainly around these parts the negativity and aggressive magnitude of that negativity are vastly amplified by online anonymity. I do think occasionally the converse is true too though. Being disconnected and not having to follow through can lead people to be more honest, open and compassionate than would be safe in real life. Even around these parts in PPD, at least here being nice to angry posters won't translate to unwanted romantic interest, or at least not anything that can't be solved by …

Quite often in this place, you are the sole voice of wisdom, and deeper truths (as opposed to superficial realities), and so it is again today. Intelligence, wisdom, insight and the generous hope for a better, greater world for all of us has its own clear accent, and is easily recognisible. For all that though, looking around at the ruins of my tattered life that I tried to sail on the raft of hope for the world done better, I think I will choose the path not-good, but not-alone. Especially as t…

In some parts of the world, money + race (white) + big frame fat brings in the glammed up gold diggers far more than abs when you're older. It's all about congruence; people want other people to fit a certain template.

Indeed, indeed. Even more so when you haven't got your life together to the extent expected for this age.

You cant have it both ways. I think this is the way that a lot of people want to have things in their life, these days, not just in relationships. The combination of a wealthier (overall) civilization, the multitudinous impacts of technology and a predominance of individualism has created this sense of being able to elude reality's obligation. It's a treacherous path to walk, but we like to imagine that we're somehow exceptional. Mathematically speaking, with nearly 8 billion of us, someone's go…

But I wish I could show you all the men I know who did follow the same path as you and did get into a decent relationship, just to let you see the other side of the coin. That is a very kind thought of yours. Musing a little further, even if you could, I think it's worth noting that some people are predisposed (some quite heavily) to overweighting negative inputs in their cognitive style and takes a lot more in the way of positive references. On top of that, people also put a lot of weight on th…

That what they were told their whole lives was a lie and that they wasted so many years doing the wrong things all because people in their lives lied to them. I'm old now, and I still have little brief bursts of negative emotion towards that broad idea. I've essentially moved on, but not absolutely and not completely. However it's not negative emotion directed at any individual, just pangs of regret over lost love and lost opportunities for love that I was really invested in.

As someone who has been hanging around this sub for 2 years now I used to participate a fair bit more in the past and feel like a lot of the top level posts have become increasingly awful and devoid of any attempt at exploration of topics. Instead they seem more and more about increasingly narrow-minded and rigid interpretations of the topic. However, I'm not so sure it's this: logical conflicts and unrealistic expectations by men regarding women, when it comes to sex and relationships in isolat…

You don't actually ask that. The idea of people actually asking it on dates and expecting things to go well afterwards is rather terrifying.

Very much the truth. Perhaps the hard thing to swallow for some people is the degree to which the "or" is an "exclusive or", and how compromise just results in achieving neither.

In every endeavour in life where I have had to go from a state of no-confidence to confidence it has required: A baseline of internal self-belief A framework to do the required task/job Sufficient support and validation from peers and instructors (NOT from the target of the confidence) The third has sometimes been substituted by peer pressure or peer expectation ("in this industry if you don't shape up, GTFO"). At no stage does feedback from the subjects of the task really help, as clients/stude…

If it helps, you can reframe this from the TRP perspective in that "accepting rejection with charm, grace and good attitude" is just about holding frame, not giving a shit about a particular plate possibility and leaving the door open for her to come back through when FOMO hits after her seeing you charm some other woman. Same set of underlying mechanics, just a different way of perceiving them. The trick, of course, is truly holding frame and not being at all bothered by it, meaning you are tru…

This sub underestimates, or basically ignores how far social skills I'd also say that different people have very different ideas about what social skills actually entail, including the concept that shifting rulesets apply depending on the circumstances.

If you want a rephrase, then developing confidence in your life in general means you will manifest it naturally in your pursuit of women. You can't shortcut this. If you are only confident in your sexual/romance approach and lack confidence elsewhere whilst not having the looks to distract, the facade quickly collapses. Thus becoming a confident person in general is what is truly being advised here, and thus the dating focus is simply self-defeating.

Being able to identify some obvious misogynists is not the same as being able to identify many or all of them. No mind reading is required for the most obvious ones. Indeed, you will see plenty of people in this subreddit with massive misogynist tells and they have no idea how giant the red flags they are waving are.

My parents grew up in an era and area where oversized and baggy clothes were king. I don't think that trend benefits me much. Never liked it. Ah, well that definitely doesn't help, especially if you don't even really like the stuff you wear. so I just need to find a style that will fit me. I just really don't know what will though. I feel like if your brain is stunted in the body language department, getting women to go out with you is still going to be supremely difficult. Worth noting that not all woman are equally talented in reading body language. There's a lot of fake it until you make it, and algorithmically driven stuff you can do with body language, as well as checklisting for go/stop signs.

5'7 150lb. Used to be 130 It's possible you haven't updated your wardrobe for your new frame. A lot of thin guys tend to wear baggier fits. This is great for comfort but means your physique has essentially remained unchanged, and if anything your clothing probably looks even more ill fitting if your shoulders have started to fill in. Also, if nothing else, being able to wear well fitted clothes and check yourself out is a great reward for the hard work, no matter what else anyone else says. Also…

But sure, she’s not going to set up her friend with a guy I mean, she's doing it for her friend's benefit, and will work more for the benefit of the better friend. That said, there are some people who just like playing matchmaker and they get secondary gain from setting people up. When those personalities are involved, all bets are off. One thing that the Red Pill gets right, although neglects to apply in equal rigour to both men and women, is that individuals' decisions revolve largely around how they feel about their partner, or more specifically the set of feelings said partner elicits from them. The inputs for those feelings are numerous, but different people have different weightings on those inputs. Thus resources, safety and material freedom can trigger genuine feelings. However that does tend to lead to less stable attr…

It's a topic with no absolute answers, only answers with utility to the beholder. One "useful" answer is that "being a real man" and "being a real woman" is often very much the same thing, just in different flavours. Real wo/men take action, real wo/men don't back down from their convictions unless there's sufficient contrary evidence. It's just the manner they do so, and the subjective style in which they do so which gives things more feminine/masculine sensibilities. And once you start to scru…

How do we know gym and cash grindset is the way why not join the monks and sit on our ass singing kumbaya all day. This just means you don't know what you want, and are too busy looking for specific truths in generalisations. The specific truths that are available to you in this world are your personal truths. As you can see from the endless disagreement in this subreddit, there is little power or consensus to be had from the generalisations. Both of those paths can lead to fulfilment of certain…

Masculine men get laid, unmasculine men don’t I think you're muddying the issue. Whether or not you have high masculinity or low masculinity for a given cultural context doesn't correlate whether or not you get laid. There are certainly some masculine men are just too fucking busy to be busy fucking.

Women just take longer to decide things and take a hands off approach to more things while sitting back and observing. I don't even know if that's necessarily true, as a statement about women, having known plenty of women who excel at snap decisions and rapid, decisive action. Especially in the surgical field. I think what starts to happen with many of the ideas that get discussed on PPD is that there is some truth value in the concepts when they remain nebulous and are allowed to contain inhere…

But in reality it’s a coping mechanism. Might just be a circularly reinforcing system. Females tend to underestimate: forces males to over-demonstrate their "fitness". Males tend to overestimate: drives males to make more approaches, get confused by the rebuff, more dominant males persist, weaker ones desist. The above dynamic is strongest in highly competitive mating pools, whilst the remainder in less competitive mating pools still manage to pair up due to other mechanisms.

There's a difference between "I wish/I want/If only" and "YOU have to". This is easy to see as it applies to both Person A and Person B.

The "some" in this case seems very hard to quantify in any meaningful way? No doubt some people with a high degree of entitlement (of either gender) feel entitled to get whatever they want out of other people, but they would also score very highly in narcissistic traits.

have a sense of entitlement to having those men as friends. If they were genuine friends prior to the declaration of romantic feelings, then I feel like you're not putting yourself in their shoes properly. Taking the genders out of it for a moment. Person A and Person B are friends. Person B develops feelings for Person A and declares as such, and would like the relationship to change to match their new emotional state. Person A has had NO change in their emotional state and their personal prefe…

I feel like this is also what happened to me, although I think maybe a deeper rummage in the memories might be warranted. Also, I do wonder about the subliminal sorts of messaging I received from my parents as a result of their interaction, dynamics and relationship. When a girl is into a guy, this stuff is secondary. This is true. This hygiene talk is often bull shit Often, but not always. Some people do have higher standards for certain things, and it's those people who tend to voice their opinions about it. Additionally, for a different group of people, the "filth" element can be a secret and/or subconscious part of the appeal, but unless the rest of you fits that whole picture, it's going to be a turn off. After and before work, and during non-working lunch/dinner breaks? The premise of your filter is that they need to text you back within a certain timeframe, not whether or not they communicate at all or not. That said, lifestyle match is important. I would hazard that your lifestyle runs at a very different speed, and so would not be a good fit regardless. However your post is trying to be generalised advice, not just for your specific situation.

It accurately describes the vast majority of my social circle in management across different fields, health care and education. Your "text back" filter is just a good way of filtering out committed professionals or people who focus intently on their jobs for whatever reason, including safety, creative focus, etc etc. These sorts of people tend to make excellent partners. There are better filters out there.

It's pretty typical for certain professions and once you get past a certain level in management. It's not about the overall % of women, it's about the fact that high performing women and men usually have these sorts of commitments.

Nobody is ever too busy to take 2 mins out to text back Most of my working life, in each of my various professions, I have NOT had time to drop things and text back for sustained periods of time. Teaching, presenting, meetings, hands deep inside someone's abdominal cavity. Even in low paid mechanical turk sort of jobs outside of professional work where you're paid per task and have to meet key performance metrics based on per the minute productivity thanks to modern software tools.

The bar in question is usually the "long term relationship"-worthy bar and not the "one night stand/FWB"-worthy bar. The former is usually measured in things like: Gainful employment Self-care Home-care Emotional and social self-maintenance Financial and time management Future planning and future proofing, including insurance, 401ks etc For properly self-sufficient women, they take all these things for granted as they do them all without too much thought. I think it is also the inertia. If you already have a girlfriend and already have social experience, life becomes easier. Like a job. And like a job, if you conduct yourself well, you build up networks that make acquiring new jobs and unadvertised jobs easier, even to the point where you may get headhunted through your network.

I think you're missing what is actually happening in-between the No Action and the Big Action. Mostly it's a matter of Go / No Go signals. If you don't know what those are, then finding out about them is the first step. People who are doing it well aren't "just going for it". As for what you do with those signals, some men will only act if there are "Go signals" others will act if there aren't any "No go signals".

And these are usually the same type of guys that can't figure out why they struggle with women to top it all off. Two sides of the same coin, perhaps. The lack of sufficient empathy with the plight of others causes a very narrow focus on their own needs, wants and perspective, to the point of tunnel vision. This same lack of sufficient empathy results in very ineffective attempts at socialisation and interpersonal connection, not surprisingly causing them to struggle with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 06:33 PM

And I as a woman, and my mum, are ones to try to solve problems instead of just listening. Do you listen patiently, actively and with empathy before offering solutions? It's this step that men often miss, as in a traditional masculine framework, offering solutions is the empathy, not something that comes after.

tangible benefits of marriage, for men, enumerated. With women of a certain mindset, being willing to get married offers a deal-breaker competitive advantage over other men who are not willing to get married. You might ask what benefit that is to the man specific, but the point is not so much a benefit per se, it's the cost of entry into that part of the market.

being so aggressive and hostile about it It's this part that is the real turn-off, and these sorts of things from either gender tend to be red flags for well-adjusted people. Compromise, adaptability and interest in the other person's perspective are the green flags the well-adjusted have an eye out for. It's great to have a thoughtful approach to what one does in life, but if when people are angry about things out the gate, then they're likely just trouble down the road.

No not all men can command respect. I’m in the medical field, been in for years. I’m surrounded by female nurses. Well it’s too late for me. Individual experiences will not always align with population data, especially with broad social science trends. Being the exception rather than the rule can be difficult but not impossible. In many parts of the world only the top 1-2% of students will become doctors or lawyers, but we still have plenty of those floating about. This is perhaps a little presumptuous in tone, but perhaps it's a message to myself as much as it is something for you to also ponder.
