Thanks, just read a similar response down there. Short+playful is the answer, just like it usually is for other parts of gaming. Last year I used to make jokes about what I do but since I started working in the real world, I felt the need to actually explain my job. Girls, of course, love talking about themselves and what they have going on, so I would reciprocate and it can come off as dry. So that's my mistake. That last story is hilarious. A few years ago, I picked up a girl in my POS beater …

Yeah, it's best to keep it at a minimum, a lot of times they just can't relate. I've been working on gaming girls older than me, though, so great point

You're right, it's that provider mindset. And I definitely feel like a small fish in a big pond but the plus side is there's plenty of options. Appreciate the reply. Probably best just to focus on the interesting parts and let my passion show, that's a good tip in general I think when talking about your career if people are prying.

I'm going to be working in a portion of real estate investing. I usually say real estate and then they have some dumbass follow up question and I feel like I lose their interest because I like rambling about the industry, lmao. I think I'll try to keep it short and say it's in real estate investing. I work on closing deals and have a big dick etc.

I can sympathize. You sound more advanced in your career than me (I just graduated college) but I know that feeling of dread and running in place all too well. I grew up in a minority household where mental illness isn't "real" either. I went through periods of ups and downs with my motivation in schoolwork/work and it only regulated when I sat down with a therapist. It's not cheap, but I'm lucky and don't need medication or further help. I realized I was burning out and I got tips on how to act…

Late reply, but thank you! Would love to contribute and learn more. I didn’t amplify the way I should’ve which was a slight loss in frame. It’s something to work on.

It is; I actually had a dude come up to me bc I was banging his girl before she dated him (yeah, that contradiction makes me scratch my head too). I dropped her after a few months. He said he was “this close” pinches fingers for emphasis to kicking my ass a year ago. I couldn’t help but just laugh in his face. All me and my boy could say about that one is why say you were about to kick someone’s ass if you never actually did it? Lmao. Like you’re just admitting you were too pussy to do anything.…

Super late reply but thanks for the response; definitely the most concise and accurate advice it seems like. Appreciate the confirmation on how I’m trying to handle things, although there’s always room to improve obviously

It was to actually her sincere wish for me to get stabbed, so it’s all in the same family I suppose.

They just DM’d me a death threat. So, that was pretty interesting.

Yeah I mean we kissed and in between she’d pull away and say all this. We were outside for almost like 20 minutes.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
