Yup, she was definitely rude and entitled. Anyway, I guess I'm probably old fashioned, so if my girl asks for small amount of money like 10 or 20 I'd probably just give it without too much thought. If this situation happens too often, then I would have a conversation with her at another time after I give her the money. The thing is her wage won't be garnished as she doesn't have a job. I suppose they could do a bank levy, but that seems unlikely since she could've simply tranferred her funds to another family member. The only other thing I could think of is they could put a lien on her properties, but who knows what that's worth? Basically, her punishment is a lot of inconvenience and attorney fees. Hopefully, she's loaded and the Colonel gets some money out it even though it might not be in the millions.

How easy is it to get the garnishment judgment from the courts in NY? She currently doesn't have a job, so this will need to wait. Also, if she changes jobs then the garnishment on wages for that particular one is moot. Either way, the point is getting the money is through garnishment is an uphill battle.

You would need a separate judgment for garnishments, though. Judges don't usually give that out in civil lawsuits if not involved with the IRS or other government agencies.
