Just good Chicago Fire Department discrimination and you’ll see all the articles. I’m a paramedic in Chicago and a person of color at that. It’s not dependent on us to change it as plenty of black and brown folks as well as women want to work for the city. Every time I applied it seemed like they preferred to hire 21-26 year old white men from outside Chicago and there was even a massive lawsuits that the courts ruled in favor that has made the city pay out in over 100 million for discrimination.
