You realize it's not your job to reconcile her lying. You were devoted to the image you had of her, a fabrication of her lies. There is no reconciling that. She played a role to get what she wanted. Now, I'm not a redpill fanatic, but seeing the posts on here and various videos, makes you realize that there is a large population of women that really do treat men as nothing more than a wallet

Same boat. About 7.8k a month in income, $500 alimony and $1600 in CS. Healthcare covered through my military service. Ex makes about $3.5k a month

If you don't want to date, then don't. I would suggest getting in to speak with a counselor or therapist, though. Definitely helped me organize my thoughts about things

Cause it's easier to see someone else's faults than their own. But I do feel the term is being overused by many people. Of course, I do think my ex has many several narcissistic traits. Mainly because of everything is framed as how it affected her and she's the victim in everything. Today she was complaining that she had no money and it was so bad because she had agreed to move out and had "no help". In fact, she cheated and the court had told her to move out and that I needed to pay to help her…

I would do it all again to have my kids, but I definitely would have gotten a pre-nup, even with no real assets at the time.

Just take it as them meaning, "Sorry you had to go through the crap to get to a better place."

They expect some over the top reaction. You should have been worshipping the ground they walk on and been devastated when they left. We've used media to sell this picture of love at first sight, happy ever after, fairy tale romance. Movies and shows don't really show the work that goes into a relationship with another person. So when the end comes with someone that's expecting these grand gestures and things, they can't reconcile the relief some partners feel at not having to walk on eggshells o…

Learn to be comfortable with yourself as a person on your own before you look for a relationship. If you can't love yourself, why expect someone else to? Work on yourself, you are more than just half of a relationship.

She's trying to drag you down into her depression. I don't know if she sees you as doing better or just doesn't like the fact that you can exist without her. Either way, what she's doing is toxic. It'd be better to just tell her that she made her choice and you've moved on.

You already have your answer. If you don't feel like it, then that's the right choice for you. Keep working on you, your health and healing. When you feel like getting back out there, that's when it's a good time. I've enjoyed chatting with new people, but I've come to realize it's not because I'm ready and looking for a new romantic relationship. I miss having a close friendship with a woman. And once you start dating again, if you're not looking to date someone with kids already, that's fine t…

And if she is like this after you work so hard to provide, then you're better off without her. It may feel like you're losing this love, but doesn't sound like she's been giving you love in a long time

Oh, no, my ex definitely doesn't care about anyone but herself. She's just realizing she's not going to have the same quality of life without me.

I understand. Was married 11 years when I filed. My ex spouting all types of things claiming I kept her from being able to work by not allowing our kids to be put in daycare (they were, and she worked). She's now beginning to realize how much the bills are and has started trying to be amicable. She can kick rocks. I just wish this process moved a little faster.

Same situation. May have to start branching out in what I cook. When I'm just cooking for me it's been pretty basic.

No advice, just letting you know I'm in the same boat with you. Going through my divorce now. She is still in the house while looking for a place (though I think she's trying to delay this as long as possible). She's not really around much, though. So that helps my mental health. We have 2 kids under 10, and are trying to be amicable for co-parenting. She has said she wants us to be friends. However, I don't see this ever happening. Right now, I'm just working on feeling nothing towards her.

How often are you talking to her? Don't talk to her unless it involves the kids. I made this mistake trying to be amicable with my STBX, and she apparently took it as us still being best friends. While she didn't try talking to me about this, I ended up letting her know that I did not care to hear about her day, the gossip at work, etc.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
