6	Double Standards And removing the clitoris is only a small portion of FGM. Some types are less invasive than male circumcision. Either way, if the World Health Organization found that cutting off a girl's clitoral hood "reduces the risk of UTIs! Is more hygienic! Wow!"... guess what would happen. If hospitals started removing any amount of genital tissue from girls, for any reason, people would lose their minds. There would be riots in the streets.
