My life outside work is a total mystery to everyone I work with and I keep it that way on purpose. I do go to work functions and socialise but I always treat it still as work in my head even if everyone else is letting their hair down and getting drunk or whatever. Just keep work and personal life completely separate if you wanna be safe is my advice. I would never "hang out" with any co-workers outside of work or official work functions, male or female.

I've never thought about it before but signing up for a military draft does seem a little redundant. Drafting or conscription is supposed to be compulsory, if you say no then you go to jail. In my country you don't sign anything, they just enact and repeal compulsory service laws when they've needed to.
