I've worked in a few different malls, and was around for their heyday. American malls typically do not have a grocery store attached. They're generally arranged around 2-3/4/5 (upwards depending on size of the mall) "anchor stores" (stores designed to get people in the door). Then they'll fill it with retail of various sorts. Stores like Walmart mostly replaced the need for malls. It wasn't until somewhat recently that they've started adding grocery stores. This is from memory, so I may have fud…

It's what's left. It's the major enemies of Dany's major enemy. Shit at this point what great houses are left south of the trident? Off the top of my head there's the Frey's, Tully's, Tyrell's, Baratheon (I don't think Gendry was ever legitimatized, but since everyone already knows, if Jon and Co. survive they might overlook that small insignificant detail. It's also important to remind ourselves not to look for problems. We're all to some degree activists. My end goal is to not be an activist. If I'm not an activist then all this shit has been figured out (at least to my satisfaction). If you want to look for problems, you'll find them.

I hate those kinds of people. For me it doesn't matter if it's a drug or something else. We're not one dimension creatures, your identity shouldn't be wrapped up in one single thing. It should be treated with respect. It's a drug like any other, and can be abused. For my crohns it has been a miracle, but it isn't the only treatment I get. Marijuana and humeria are the right way to go for me. Better than a cortisteriod, and narcotic pain reliever. But it's a drug like any other and deserves respe…

Mentally addictive is a whole other animal than physical addiction. A mental addiction could be literally any object manipulated in a certain way. Eating couch foam, fucking inanimate objects, typically a specific object like a car. It could be food, it could be literally anything. So saying marijuana is addictive mentally is true, but so is food, and fucking cars, and eating couch foam, and eating your dead husbands ashes, eating hair, and so on.

Very Bad Things worked because the cast acted as the straight man to the plot's zany wacky wildcard. It also helped that each person was pretty fucking awful in their own right so you don't feel sympathy with them.

So the other day I found my high school yearbook. I hadn't looked at it in like 20 years. After looking through I realized that the girls who were good looking didn't seem so good looking now. I can't be sure, but I'm willing to bet we take the best of what we've got right now. I think this is probably the first time in my life that comedy of some sort isn't part of the box office regularly. I think it's kinda sad, we need comedy more than ever right now. This reaction should be the norm, not the exception. I've been told for most of my life that boys have it easy, boys are the trouble makers, boys are inherently violent, boys are too good at school, and so on. And the thing is, I don't really care all that much. Hamstring me all you want, it just makes me desire and work harder. However I do take exception when words become actions. It's not a side, it's an issue. As politically incorrect as it may be, you can still be a feminist or consider yourself on and be against this. Thinking the whining about this is stupid, doesn't mean you're throwing your hat in the ring for every anti-feminist or conservative issue out there. That kinda polarized thinking is why our political fights are getting nastier and nastier. Besides they're assholes and radicals in every movement/group. They tend to be vocal

Jesus what a mess. The first thing that strikes me is this is a very unhealthy relationship in terms of sex. And it may rest totally one the woman. Sex isn't a weapon and it suggests to me that she doesn't really like sex, is getting sexual gratification elsewhere (everything from emotional cheating, masterbation, to actual cheating, we don't know and it's pointless to speculate), doesn't value sex, or has been so satisfied as to forget what it's like not to be so it doesn't seem like a big deal…

It's a housing bubble and it's going to have to pop eventually. We were doing the same thing a decade ago. It was easier to get a housing loan (to increase homeownership rates) so there was more competition. So people needed a larger loan. In our case those people couldn't afford the loan, defaulted and got foreclosed on. Then everyone realized the houses were overvalued due to increased competition and the banks couldn't get back a lot of that money. There was a bunch of other fuckery but that'…

It is the only solution. When any interaction with a woman becomes a legal liability to men, the smart men will simply not interact. What's the penalty for soliciting a prostitute? Is it less than rape? If so just hire a one and move on. It's safer than going to prison.

I'm not a MGTOW. Matter of fact I thought it was silly. But it's not my life so whatever. However with something like this being official policy the only way to ensure your innocence IS to simply not interact with woman at all. They become a liability. You end up with the same rules we have when dealing with children. Never ever be alone with them, always talk to them with another person present, assume they'll sue or try to press charges at all times. It's simply safer for men to separate thems…

We haven't yet, doubt we will forever. But we're both confident that our problem solving methods are pretty good right now. There are a few issues on the horizon we've fought pretty hard about. To the point we both said "fuck it, we'll cross the bridge when we get to it." For that stuff I'll probably recommend that we go see a therapist for better POV. Lay out our reasoning and see what happens. And yeah, it's gritty and we get right down to it. But I wouldn't want anyone else.

There was a story about how these two people would fight constantly, then they got married and decided not to fight. My wife and I fight. All the time. Or we used to. My parents called us "The Bickerson's." We got married anyway. Why? Because we never fought about the same thing twice. Once we argued about something, that was it. We resolved the issue and moved on. We're both strong willed, and willing to argue for what we want. We both like that in the other person, so an argument isn't a big d…

To be fair to everyone, I think this is most people's reactions. No one wants to face the possibility that their loved one isn't as fully committed to the relationship as the other person. If we're being honest, there are times when in my relationship we switch between who is more into whom. Sometimes I'm in a mood where I just want to "become one" with her (which means intense physical contact. Her laying on me, or something similar) and vice versa. It's very very rare though. Aside from the money, you have nothing to lose and more the gain that you realize. Other than that? Nothing really. Because of the tax reasons the disadvantages are high. Let me put it a different way. More men self identify as a gamer is our opinion, but we can prove through the use of academic studies that the gender levels are almost evenly split. If a study were published tomorrow that confirms our opinions, then we'd have a study to point to. According to current research, females play video games as much as men. Different types of games, but that distinction wasn't made in the article. Partly why it's an opinion editorial and not actual journalism.

I agree, but that's our opinion. My point was simply that Marcotte throws out this accepted bits of wisdom, as if they're real, when we can point to current studies that show them to be false. It's especially harmful to her when she bases an argument around it.

Still doesn't invalidate anything. Farmville made 235 million in the first three months of 2011, of that 9.9 was ad revenue. That means that whomever is playing it spent 225 million. That's nothing compared with GTAV (including online sales) sales of 2 Billion+ However simply because it's farmville doesn't mean the money they spend isn't real, or the time it consumes isn't real. The gender gap in video games is mostly a style gap. Still that doesn't invalidate female's that play more traditional…

I like that she throws out there, that there is a gender gap in gaming as accepted wisdom. When a simple google search reveals that 45% of gamers identify as female, and 52% male. Almost half and half. Not really a big gap. From what I can find, it seems that at least in Col. 70% of medical marijuana users are male, 30% female. Not sure why that requires a feminist paper, as both parties are perfectly able to acquire a MM card.

Universities/colleges shouldn't be in a position to enforce criminal law. I mean, if a university conducts an investigation (which I think ought to be left to a legit police force) can they use that evidence they find in a court case? This is all just a ploy to get the female vote and paint republicans as anti woman. This reminds me of my dad a bit. He's always going on about how Obama is a Muslim (or he used to anyway). I would jump on his ass every time. I'd say dad, Obama isn't a Muslim. He isn't. Obama has plenty of legitimate faults to criticize. Don't listen that bullshit. You're better than that. MHRM is all about equal opportunity, as opposed to equal outcomes.

You mean woman might act like Margret Thatcher?
/r/MensRights18/01/14 01:00 AM

Hands down, woman. They treat them terribly.

They should. Response ought to be proportional.

Okay, everyone listen up. Focusing on one problem doesn't in any way demean other problems.

Amazing. Can't use the same tactics against feminist woman of color as you use against everyone else. It hinges on you being on the lowest rung of the ladder. Still, thanks for the entertainment Mandi.

It's like the goat in the twitter futurama episode. One end vomit, the other diarrhea. What one end ejects, the other end eats.

I've had a beard for five years. Watching other men wax, or shave it off has absolutely, zero bearing in anyone's life.

No worries, it's all good.
/r/MensRights01/12/13 04:00 AM

You didn't come off as a dick. Did I? I didn't mean to. I really don't think people have an excuse not to exercise three times a week for at least a half hour, and to eat properly. I still don't do that, but I don't make excuses for myself either. I mean, I know deep down it's an excuse. Why bother? And yeah, that's the pic.
/r/MensRights01/12/13 03:25 AM

I don't have one. Same as everyone else. However making up bullshit excuses to fool myself seems like a waste of time. I'd rather just smoke weed and watch some stupid shit on youtube.

Slightly off topic question, but why do people care about trolls?
/r/MensRights11/11/13 01:47 PM

Thus my idea that "patriarchy" is a core concept of radical feminism but not of feminism. If I'm wrong I'd like to be told so though, especially if it's by one of our feminist members. Also, I'd like to know about people who believe in "patriarchy" and do not identify as radical feminists. I'm curious myself. I suspect that there is a branch of feminism that would actually agree with the issues that the MRM are concerned about.
/r/MensRights10/11/13 08:52 PM

Yes, because the real victims aren't the people in prison for no reason.
/r/MensRights10/11/13 07:57 PM

I've come to think that the overall goal of the MRM is equal for all people regardless of gender.

Care to source that? I've never heard of feminist theory only being applicable to radfems.

This is one of my favorite debates. Any arguments against letting males control their reproductive futures are the same ones, used against abortion in the first place. I just enjoy pointing that out.

I'd be pissed too. I'm 100% secure I'm not a rapist, in the same way I'm 100% secure I'm not a terrorist. And yet, here I am, upset by it.

I got into that discussion with a teacher once upon a time. My response was that since Hillary stayed with him she must have condoned his behavior. Who are we to say that they don't have an open marriage? Maybe she picked them out for him? We don't know.

I don't get it. You do a lot of high quality work, you get rewarded. How that work comes to be, is your choice. Why is that a male dominated definition? What would the female dominated definition be? Sleep your way to the top, like she suggests?

As a rape victim myself, having anyone lie about being raped is offensive to me and undermines the seriousness of the crime. It's the boy who cried wolf. It perpetuates the rape culture. You say it's easy to get away with rape, which begs the question. How many times have you gotten away with raping?

Aside from being a total cop-out. Are there groups that have it worse off than woman as a whole? Yes. Does that mean that woman's issues, and rights shouldn't be addressed? No, of course not. The amount of oppression (if it could be calculated) has no bearing on whether or not we ought to address the problems. Or at least it shouldn't. Advancing men's rights, doesn't infringe on woman's rights. It infringes on their privliage. Same as sufferage, or the civil rights movement, ect ect. Giving (I d…

Absolutely! By no means is my opinion anything other than that, an opinion. I personally enjoy having my opinions challenged. Honestly, at what point does a human fetus become "human"? Conception? Birth? Viability? There isn't a good answer.
/r/MensRights02/07/13 02:12 PM

Its a fetus until its born. A human fetus, sure. I think erring on the side of caution is excatly why late term abortions are illegal.

To you it's obviously human. To me, not until birth.
/r/MensRights02/07/13 10:08 AM

If it wasn't paywalled, I'd have posted it. My question was, he talks about martial rape is if it isn't illegal or a crime that can be prosecuted. While the laws don't reflect that (in the states anyway), but he may be referring to the 10 or so states where martial rape isn't prosecuted in the same way that rape is.
/r/MensRights29/06/13 09:55 PM

From the abstract meta-study. (2006) THERE can be little doubt that the specter of false rape allegations has significantly influenced the development of legal doctrine and its enforcement. The fear of false allegations has been used to justify evidential rules in cases involving sexual offenses such as the corroboration warning, the retention of the marital rape immunity and continues to influence police and prosecutorial decision-making From Wiki Marital rape, also known as spousal rape, is no…

What's sad, is that CPS is so busy dealing with this stupid bullshit, that the kids that actually need it won't get that help. Partially because the "parents" are so fucking awful that the the kids would become wards of the state, and the state doesn't want to pay for that shit. It's all fucked up. This is why men, need men's rights. So we're not investigated by CPS because we have dicks, and some people are uncomfortable with that.

The danger is in how you define discrimination and/or racist speech.

A fair criticism, and a serious problem. I kinda wish people viewed it like I do. I've been hit on by trans people, non-trans people (cis, I guess?) and to me its just flattering. So what I'm not into that? You don't know, and I admire anyone's courage to just walk up to someone like that. Its not easy, and it must be doubly hard for trans people as the threat of a beat down while rare is ever present.
/r/MensRights20/06/13 04:13 PM

I agree with you. There needs to be a safe way to communicate if a person is trans, and the other may not know it. What to do? It's a tough question that spawns a million other equally tough questions.

But don't you see, no matter what you do you'll always be worthless or childish. They don't like you because of your penis, and they will never be happy that you're alive. They're so far down the rabbit hole, they don't even like the idea that somewhere there are men, and they're not locked in a cage. What's confusing is that, these voices are the ones in pop culture, but god forbid you confuse this style of feminism with "actual feminism."

I do garden. I also love to cook, and sew. I prefer the garden though, I get a lot more out of it emotionally. I mean, I'm helping another life spring forth from nothing. I know it isn't unusual, but that doesn't mean it isn't fucking cool as shit. I also enjoy cleaning and arts/crafts.

Men are paychecks. Period. We're disposable, and utterly worthless as creatures. How we came to rule to world, and each and every position of power is beyond me while changing the culture to diminish all women, considering how worthless we are.

That's really the problem. A good middle management does what you're saying. I just don't see that in my experience. In the example I used, I see an awful lot of middle management making one route, then spending the next three weeks on Reddit, then planning another route. I see some room for improvement. However when all those things work, it's like magic.
/r/MensRights13/05/13 08:56 PM

Clearly someone has to do it, which is why middle management is great in theory. In practice I've found them to be a drain on any company.
/r/MensRights13/05/13 08:44 PM

They are, but middle management doesn't do that. They farm it out, or in experience they farm it out. Sad fact is, most management can be easily replaced.

A perceived threat is a lot more powerful than an actual threat. An actual threat, require specific steps. A nebulous threat (like a war on terror) allows for more broad reaching actions. When someone says they've been treated or otherwise harassed by an MRA, my first thought is okay, how did you know they're an MRA, what's the evidence, how do we know you're not doing it to yourself?

I meant obviously inappropriate stuff. Not the gray area. If you're confused as to what is or isn't obvious I suggest you ask your HR. They'll have a pretty good idea, and they may have some literature on the subject. My point still stands, cons have policies against harassment. I feel like they're enough, and we don't need more.
/r/MensRights25/04/13 03:27 AM

Most cons have rules about that stuff. Frankly touching and inappropriate comments aren't okay. Now as far as what's appropriate and inappropriate, I think we're far enough along to know. Looking at? That's fine, even if its unpleasant. That's on you. You dress up for attention, don't be surprised when you get it.

I think the third wave is more sexist towards woman than anyone. It makes them out to be this weak second class citizen that can't possibly compete in a man's world. And as if to reinforce that, they make every woman out to be a victim or potential victim. That woman are so stupid, they can't possibly be allowed to lead their own lives, and must be corralled like cattle so that the big bad world doesn't somehow victimize them further. Just by being born they're already victims. Personally, if I …

They're clearly different things. The mother son baseball thing is a better analogy. And if a little boy could only bring along his aunt or another guardian, but the school wouldn't allowed then yes it should be banned too. The best solution is let whomever go with the kid. Its not like that'd ruin the dance or baseball game, or any activity.
/r/MensRights17/02/13 03:35 PM

The problem isn't the single mother, it's the school being extremists. All those parents and children wanted was a special memory with each other, and the school had to make it about gender.

And frankly it should happen. Sexual compatability is important for a healthy reationship. Then again I come from the Dan Savage camp where we as partners ought to do our best to sexually satisfy our partners. If a woman had a problem with me giving her oral, and it was a big huge deal for her sexual satisfaction I see no reason why that couple shouldn't break up (assuming that it's a big enough deal, ect, ect). I was going somewhere with that, but I lost it. However that's a good point, perhaps we should differentiate between statutory and forceable.
/r/MensRights14/02/13 04:56 PM

It depends on the state as to how the consent laws are set up. In some places they have the "Romeo and Juliet" Clause. Which just means that if the age of consent is 16, that if you're dating a 16 year old, you can have sex but only if your age is within a certain range. The idea is to prevent teenagers from being prosecuted for dating someone they go to high school with. A more in depth article isn't going to be awful.

I am too. If either of us gets the gumption we should let the other know.
/r/MensRights07/02/13 04:27 PM

I think part of it has to do with society's refusal to really talk about sex with children or anyone that isn't close. Father's don't want to know what I've done or had done to me with/by their daughters.
/r/MensRights07/02/13 04:26 PM

You make a great point. The intent of the person really defines what is or isn't pedophile behavior. A gyno checking out a 6 year old's vagina is fine, but me do it, is sketchy at best. (where I have no medical training and no reason to check out a 6 year olds vagina.)
/r/MensRights07/02/13 04:24 PM

To be fair asking a six year old what her vagina smells like (not in medical setting) its pretty close. If a man did that, he might have some trouble.

It's not unfair to woman, it's unfair to the partner that wasn't smart enough to get buissness/money matters in some kind of contract. Both men and woman can fall into this trap.

The thing about porn is that there is great variety. Sure, there is stuff that I find distasteful, but that's the beauty of life. That we're all different and bring different things to the table. Shouldn't our differences be seen as a strength instead of a way to seperate ourselves?

Most of the gripes that really opened my eyes were from FtM transgender persons. Part of being an MRA isn't totally about the male sex so far as it's biological. Sure there are some things that are biological in nature that puts favor in either sex, and sure we try to level the playing field for all genders no matter who or what they are. But that stuff seems small in the larger scope of things we're trying to change. Namely attitudes and laws. Personally I could deal with the attitudes if the l…

There IS a lot os sterotypes in video games. But it isn't just woman. It's every character. It's the product of lazy dialouge and writing. Or just the way the genre of game is (like Max Payne. The characters are all supposed to be charactures of what people are like). However all that said, cutting down on the sterotypes wouldn't hurt anyone. But then again games aren't meant to be a reflection of real life.

I'm no scientician, but I think there may be more to why we evolved. maybe. In all honesty emotion and reason are two haves of a whole.
/r/MensRights14/01/13 02:46 PM

Simply put, reason/logic and emotions are incompatable. If you base your knowledge on emotion, no amount of reason will sway you, and vice versa. I had a disagreement with my wife. She feels that 'narritives" are totally acceptable forms of scientific evidence. So I told stories from my own life that conflict with popular thought. They both can't be right, as absolute evidence. I used that as a stepping stone to make my point that post-modernism isn't science and shouldn't be given the gravity t…

The problem is people keep trotting these out dated studies. It'd be like claiming phrenology is a legitimate science. The hard sciences have the luxury of being able to build work on a few papers. It takes a shit load for social sciences to even come to a conclussion on the terminology.

I think they make that assumption that we're all straight, Christian, white, males because they've been told to. What's funny is that is the internet, none of those things matter. The only thing that matters is your content. I don't see many posts or comments here with someone expressing their appearance, ethnicity, religion, sex, or much else (aside from relationship status. I do see a lot of that here). What this community seems to value is content.

Learning how to communicate has been hard for my wife and I. And I don't mean "blame the man" communication, I mean talking and expressing our needs. Seems pretty simple, but it's hard to do well. At least for us. Good luck.
/r/MensRights16/12/12 05:33 PM

That's a good question. It totally depends on the person. Some people need someone around to be positive and pick them up a bit, I prefer to be left alone. There is no single solution, that's good. But if someone is willing to talk about it, it's probably a good indicator that they're either drowning, or they like someone else being that positive person. It's hard to tell, the best thing to do is listen and ask what they need.

I've met more than my fair share of those dudes. Usually in gyms. Honestly they don't give a shit what you do, so long as it doesn't effect them. I'm not gay, but I am a big supporter of LGBT rights. I think the underlying problem isn't about unrealistic expectations. I think that's half of it. I think the other half is the archaic notion that men or woman have any gender roles. Men ought to be no more the provider than woman. In fact the title of provider isn't limited to any gender, and I don't think we should allow it to be a gender issue. I would say for the "average feminist" like my wife, or my wife's female friends, they know some of the stats but may not know they're wrong or misused. I think it's just a lack of information on their part. However for people that are actively involved in feminism, not only should they know better, but they should know better than to intentionally spread misinformation. If they were intellectual honest anyway. I imagine it's hard as hell to spend a good chuck of your day writing a blog only to …

I think it comes down to equal opportunity or equal outcomes. I think everyone ought to be given and equal opportunity to secede or fail as they choose. If there are unequal outcomes then, I think that points to areas that need attention as to why. If white males tend to score better on things that require linear thinking, my first reaction isn't that we need more woman in the field, or that math and science are geared towards men. My first question is more fundamental, is there a biological or …

There was a picture on reddit yesterday, maybe the day before of an African-American girl reading a book and another African-American blowing cigarette in her face. It was training for a sit-in so she wouldn't react negatively. That's the message I got from it. Yeah, the assholes should stop. But they won't. So we face adversity, and become better for it. i like the trolls here. I think it's a good thing. We have an opportunity to prove that we're above that silly high school drama bullshit. We …

"The more shrill they get, the more we win." We need to remember this more often. I also think it's isn't necessarily bad that there are trolls here. They help us refine arguments, and offer us a chance to see what arguments are against us. I think it's whatever we make it out to be.

Keep in mind that I agree with you totally. However, it colors the entire discussion, and other discussions. People get on guard against them and get pissy and defensive when someone disagrees, they assume someone is trolling. Like I said I agree with you, but that's something to keep in mind.

Me too. I think we forget we're all human, and we all have our own experiences which flavor our opinions. I've never been married to a harpy bitch who took me to the cleaners, I've never been accused of rape or sexual assault. I don't have any vitriol against those people any more than I do for anyone I actively work against. I just want everyone to have an equal opportunity. I think that the biggest difference between most MRA's and most Feminists, it seems the Feminists want equal results, and…

You'd be surprised how much of this there actually is in the world. I'm sure it's partially confirmation bias, and I'm equally sure I just didn't notice before.

The crutch in his/her argument seems to be 1) Take control yourself, not to trust your partner to do it 2) If she's willing to not tell you she must be a bad person to begin with, and you shouldn't be sleeping with her. What I get out of this, is not to trust any partner ever, with anything that might be important. That seems healthy.

Oh shit! If you check out my posting history, I was just "talking" to someone about that. It's in a thread about twitter. I made a comment, someone refined it, and I said "I agree on all points." Then someone reminded me to only post things that add to the conversation. Beware he may be on your tail as we speak!

I don't think any of us can "win." I say I'm for woman's rights, and men's rights. So to some I hate my own gender, and for others I hate all woman. Neither one is the case. I like both genders just fine. Maybe by being confusing I get people to think for a second without relying on stereotypes. Maybe not. I don't know. We're all in the same boat, and I see no reason why people who believe in equal rights wouldn't be working together with the same goals in mind.

You're right. However to me it's that and more. I felt it was silly to say, well I'm for X's rights! Are they not human? Why not equal rights for everyone? Why one group? I felt constrained by the title. I feel like my rights shouldn't come at the expense of someone else's rights. I may not have put that into to words well. In fact I probably didn't. I hope you see what I'm trying to say. If not, I'll try to express it more clearly.

I don't consider myself a feminist anymore, but I used to. I now identify as a human rights activist. I want everyone to play on an equal field. What you do with that is up to you, but I don't think woman should be more equal than men, or men than woman. I don't care about the outcome, that's up to the individuals. I want everyone to have the same chances.

Actually MR was one of the first subreddits I subscribed to. I just don't post often. Most of the time people already say what I was going to. Nothing to add, nothing to post. I posted this, because I wanted different perspectives. I already know how I feel, but getting more opinions isn't a bad thing.

How in the name of all that's holy would it make someone worse? I think my worst breakup was when I was told that I'd never amount to anything worth while. I told her! I've got a community college degree, and I work a dead end retail job. Told that bitch.

I've had that done to me, and done it to others. It sucks, but at the end of the day you've got to do what you've got to do. I hope that they find whatever they're looking for, and are happier for it. I wonder how the Blanche DuBois-s of the world get by. Why rely on someone else when you've got yourself to rely upon?

Perhaps I'm an asshole. No, I am an asshole. Maybe in this instance I'm showcasing it. At any rate, there are LOTS of woman out there who aren't worthy of me. I do have a laundry list of things I expect in a relationship. We all do. I happen to know mine. My wife fulfills these obligations of mine, through no fault of her own. In fact I seriously doubt if she could name any of the things I was looking for when we started dating. I'm not going to date anyone I wasn't intellectually interested in,…

I haven't had a close look at modern feminism. I don't know a hellva lot about it, which is why I'm asking questions. What is the stated goal of modern feminists?

Perhaps, but that's a part of sociology. Sometimes results are ambiguous. Discounting feminism simply because it's based off of sociology/woman's studies isn't okay. Human right's are always important, be it for woman or men, or both. Discounting them out of hand does nothing to help anyone, any where. There are plenty of examples of sexism in our society for both sexes. Where my wife works is mostly female, so when they need something heavy moved she calls me. She doesn't call me because I'm a …

Ah. What do they propose to do about this/these things? How is society set up to benefit men over woman? People are going to make off-color jokes. Nothing can be done about that, and I'd like to think that we realize that rape isn't anything to laugh at, but I'd also like to think that we realize that we can find humor anywhere despite the subject matter. EDIT; I'm results oriented. If there is a problem, and we can identify it then we should be able to come up with at least one plan of action t…

I agree that we need to drop the anti-feminism stuff, but honestly I don't know much about the idea of a patriarchal/rape culture. Is there any hard science on the stuff? Are those things real? Do they make a point?

I have found that what seems like a majority of articles about MRA stuff seems to concern itself with feminism, or rather how they view MRA stuff. It saddens me to see so much of that stuff. Isn't there some common ground between the two groups? I've said it before, but I think dividing ourselves is counter productive. We're fighting toward the same goal, equality between the sexes. I see no reason why we can't simply agree on a majority of things. In fact the only reason against it would be the…

Article aside, single sex education has shown to improve test scores in both male and female classrooms. The problem is, a lack of socialization with the other sex. Uniforms also tend to help test scores, and education in general.

Fact is gay men are looked at differently than gay woman. Sometimes the issues become both sexual orientation, and gender. For me, I think it's important that we're aware of both. If someone posts something that's on the fence between orientation and gender, I don't think it's a bad thing. At the very heart of men's rights, woman's rights, LGBT rights, are all the same. Equality. I said the same thing earlier today on a feminism thread. I think labels like men's rights, or feminism, or what have…

What if he was super good looking and excited her sexually? Would she still find it inappropriate? How should men respond? Are we supposed to know that we shouldn't ask woman back to our room for coffee, if we're in an elevator, if it's the middle of the night? What if it were the middle of the day? What if it were a stairwell? Does the beverage make a difference?

It's the same with any particular rights groups. There will always be the fringe who would prefer that, that particular group is elevated above and beyond anyone else. Aside from a few assholes, most of the people (men and woman) I've met who are interested in, and fight for men's rights are really just about equality. The sex of the person doesn't really matter.
