if the father opt out, the mother has still a lot of time to either abort, give birth, take care of the child or give him/her up for adoption. She will take this decision based on psychological, financial and physical grounds. Govt. can set up some "advisers" in the city for who can help women take the necessary decisions. Her choice, her body, her responsibility.

What I was trying to say is this is for censensual relationships, if a man or a women is raped, then it falls under another "sexual harassment and rape" category and will be dealt as a criminal case. Of course, then too, a man should be able to surrender. I hope I am making some sense, English is not my strength , so forgive me.

thats not what MRAs are fighting about. MRAs believe that men don't have any rights after post-conception and everything depends on the woman(like abortion, adoption, safe heaven etc). So it creates a serious imbalance in the legal rights or options for both gender. And feminist say "oops! life is unfair! biology is unfair! deal with it". MRAs aren't fighting to stop abortion.

I just don't want to bash feminsim and women altogether. I think it gives MRM a very bad image. Since "feminism" is already dominating in this world, we need more people to accept MRM. And things like Paul Elam's BAVB month, or Warren Farrell's "date rapes" are misused so out of contexts that no one is even trying to listen to MRA. Majority of people right now are against giving men an option to opt out, do you think people will ever accept a plan where by default the man has opted out? Isn't that too much to ask for the current scenario. Maybe we can push for Opt in if Opt out become legal and mainstream.
