If a child is produced from a sexual encounter I believe the father has as much of a responsibility to provide for it as does the mother. Just because a woman decides to not abort or put up for adoption the child does not eliminate the father's responsibility. If people could be counted on to "do the right thing" and support their child it would not be necessary to have child support laws. I agree with you regarding adoption. In many circumstances putting a child up for adoption is the responsible thing for a person(s) to do. I do empathize with the situation that men are in. However, these laws were designed to protect the well being of the child and that is the only truly important thing. It is a terrible thing that some women decide to abuse the child support laws and I hope these laws are changed such that they can better protect fathers.
