Tbh, there can be an online disconnect and little initiative from the guy’s end with OLD. If the guy isn’t putting a lot of effort into the conversation on OLD apps, then it’s definitely not you 😅 Do you have MeetUp groups in your area? Those have been useful for meeting other people of similar interests in your area, including possible dating prospects. I’ve made friends through events there and some of them have met their S.O. the same way. It gives you a chance to see if there’s a connection …

The timeline is such a lie, especially since Olivia had been pursuing him for years. He doesn’t want to make it look like he cheated (which he definitely did with hookers). All the comments on the Seth Meyers video were so supportive of John, I couldn’t believe it. No famous woman would be lauded like he is after all of this.

Why is she laughing at her husband’s idiocy? Nothing about not preparing for a storm is funny, especially if they have kids. There was a hurricane/tropical storm that hit here last weekend and I was so proud of how prepared my partner and I were. It ended up just being a bunch of rain (the weather stations had us freaking out) but it’s nice that we were prepared for the worst.

They’re meek until they don’t get what they want out of a woman.

He also wanted Scarlet to give up her career to be full time housewife and mom. Obviously, she disagreed and they divorced. It’s no coincidence that Blake’s career has taken a backseat since they’ve had kids. There’s also tea that he really really wants a son and is disappointed to have only daughters so far.

I feel like attacking people for their lifestyles (i.e. "you're so vanilla") are more of a reflection on the person who said it. Why do you care? I'm sorry I don't have to overcompensate in fear of being labeled "boring" because I'm confident that I'm not.

If anything, it just highlights how bad the infrastructure is here in the U.S. 😂 (that mostly men designed!)

He uses the Leonardo DiCaprio strategy of dating where his girlfriends are never older than 30 (25 for Leo) despite the fact that he's aged like milk.

Thank you for sharing such a sweet story. Your grandpa sounds like a gem and I’m sorry for what he’s going through right now. It’s hard when a loved one has dementia — my grandma doesn’t recognize any of us grandkids anymore.

Longtime climber here too and it seems to be split. There are some dudes that are as OP described. But the other half are dudes who dedicate their whole life to climbing and have no goals/life outside of it. A lot of male climbers are also deeply misogynistic but are just good at hiding it lol. I remember some drama with famous climbers where a famous male climber ridiculed a famous female climber and posted stuff on Instagram body shaming her and a lot of douchey climber bros joined in on it. A…

They probably teach their sons a lot of entitlement and nothing else. Just that their God's gift to women and they should be lucky to know such a smart special boy like him.

Overbearing moms are such a red flag that he will probably not help around the house. A couple of my exes were so dependent on their moms, they still live in our hometown all of these years later and will probably never live further than 30 minutes away from home.

Moms who are obsessed with their sons are so weird and gross. Meanwhile, if there's a daughter, she's just an afterthought.

I have a similar story. I was close friends with a girl from age 15 to about 23. Nothing bad happened but we just got involved with different communities and hobbies and stopped talking. I’ll always love her. But when she lost her job in the pandemic, she started an OF and I was pretty wary of that. She claims it’s empowering and a way to make money. I’m pretty sure most of the guys subscribed just fetishize her ethnicity (Chinese) and it will definitely hinder her from getting a high paying job…

I seriously also think men are jealous of how intimate and emotionally supportive female friendships are so they make up stuff, like how we are all catty and secretly hate each other. I’m sorry your best bro has never hugged you or said he loves you but don’t make it my problem, man!

Lol I never hear of the other way around. “No woman wants a man who...” Because we’ve always known that men would rather lie to get with a woman than change himself for the better. So why should women have to change themselves?

Lmao like search engines aren’t free. I didn’t know how to clean out a sink drain when I was 18 but a couple of video tutorials online taught me how to do it on my own. No excuses!

Lol same here! I loved his video on that creepy “dating coach” on TikTok who talks like he’s never met a woman in his life. And the scrote was so upset that he made a rebuttal video that was just unanimously shitted on.

I always find that when predators/murderers are men and the victims are (mostly) women, the audience will blame the victim for "being so stupid for falling for it". I was reading about Ted Bundy and it turns out that he would fake an injury and ask a woman for help and they, being super kind, would attempt to help him only to fall for his trap. It's made me even more paranoid about men who approach me.

This is why I advocate for body neutrality, which, by definition is "a philosophy that you should focus on what your body can do for you rather than what it looks like". Just focus on being the best version of yourself, physically and mentally and do it for yourself. I'm sure body positivity meant well in the beginning but like a lot of movements, people will distort things to fit their provincial narrative.

Most men aren’t even funny. They just quote stuff like South Park and Rick and Morty. Being funny requires creativity and wit, a combination I don’t see many men have.

Nah, everything feeds into the male ego. My ex was a CS major and is now a software engineer and always thinks he’s smarter and better than everyone around him. He dropped $40k on a sports car that he didn’t know anything about, that is messing up and of course he doesn’t know enough about cars to fix it properly so he drops even more money on that (it’s still not working properly). He hates the car now. Oh, and he still doesn’t know shit about cars and won’t invest the time to learn about them …

I hate when mothers have lower standards for their sons than they do for their daughters (or just super low standards in general for their sons). “I cook three meals a day for my 25 year old unemployed son while he plays video games all day. His room hasn’t been vacuumed in five years but he wiped his ass today. He’s still looking for Mrs. Right but I don’t think any woman will be good enough for him. He’s pretty picky :)”

I also liked how he became super attracted to Leslie for her personality and being a rockstar at her job. He appreciated her for her talents, not just looks.

It’s really messed up the amount of people I’ve known in my life whose fathers either (1) never met them (2) are a deadbeat or (3) are extremely abusive where their adult kids want nothing to do with them. It’s ridiculously common. But right. Eff the mothers who have the strength to raise kids by themselves because the sperm donor dipped out.

I hate how so many movies and tv shows popularize this mindset too, which obviously influences women from a young age. Just once, I'd like to see a female character just peace the hell out as soon as the guy shows the first red flag.

He’s a civil engineer and has been in the workforce for a few years. So at least there’s that. :/ I will never understand why he wasn’t the one to propose. Imagine being with a sweet, beautiful woman going to grad school at an Ivy League and still being like “eh, idk yet.” Even after 11 years.

I wouldn't even say "loneliness". It's more like "I would rather spend time alone than with some LVM who will never treat me the way I deserve to be treated". I'm seriously so glad I found this subreddit! <3

I totally agree, I have two cheating LVM exes myself who I completely ignore and would never talk to. I was just saying that for Jen, her and Brad work in the same industry and probably know a lot of the same people so it’s a little different. I don’t think it’s bitter at all to not be friends with your exes, I’m sorry if I was implying that. It wasn’t my intention.

It was almost 15 years ago and she moved on and even got married again, even though it didn’t last. I think forgiveness helps with having a peace of mind. I imagine they probably talked it out at some point too, idk. I think it’s cool as long as they don’t get back together. It would also help her from a professional point. Hollywood can feel like a small town and she’s definitely bound to run into him or have mutual friends, etc.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
