I’ve gained plenty of research and analysis skills throughout my degree and have also made great contacts through a placement and my own volunteer work. Although my research on incels may not be directly applicable to jobs, the skills I gain from carrying out such a project and speaking to people will be useful. Hi, you’re right that they’re quite different and apologies if it seemed like I’m saying it’s all the same. I’m mostly saying “similar ideology” in order to appeal to as many people as I can. Hi, I’m studying Gender Studies and I decided to pursue this topic as I felt it was an interesting way to look into masculinity and the internet. I have people in my life who have previously been involved with incel culture and I wanted to expand on what I knew from their experiences and gain a better understanding of a community and form of masculinity that I’m not as familiar with.
