As a Japanese, I don’t really get the “ppl in Japan don’t have sex” stereotype tbh lol

I've wondered the same thing about bisexuality. Especially because then it would involve the "intersexual" component that others have mentioned. So in other words, how would, according to RP, a man/woman's attraction to the same sex also affect their intersexual relationship? Does bisexuality change the intersexual dynamics somewhat, or does it not change anything?

Based on my own experiences and what I've heard from most women around me, I would say that women's age preferences are usually more fluid than those of men. As in, the older the woman gets, the older her target becomes. This may be because women generally prefer men older than them. This may also partly be because younger men would stop dating older women anyway (although, in the country where I live, younger men liking older women is actually pretty common). For instance, when I was 18, I woul…

This is true to a degree. After all, people "dress" when they go outside only because other people will see them, so no one truly dresses only for themselves (otherwise, like OP said, why wouldn't they stay dressed at home?). So obviously, people have some sort of target audience in mind. But many men miss the fact that women also dress up to make other women jealous. Women are competitive. We are conditioned by society to believe that we are inherently better if we are prettier. We often size e…

I apologize if it sounded like I was accusing the OP of being offensive, or if my question somehow offended you. That was not my intention.

Why would I be offended? Are you implying that the OP's post could be interpreted as offensive? If so, why?

Except for the drug testing, that's like, the majority of corporate workers in Japan lol

What have we learned about a previously oppressed group, now that they have been given various freedoms? That they were human....all along? Like I don't really understand the framing of the question. It's like asking, now that black ppl have been given various freedoms, what have we learned about them?

I definitely see where you are coming from. But I also think that the "econ language" can be used to support both the "rage" and "anti-rage" type arguments, or any type of argument, really. You can adhere to the idea that all relationships are transactional in nature, and still have healthy human relationships. At the end of the day, people (even scholars) manipulate models and concepts to further build on their own biases and worldviews, whatever those worldviews may be.

I'm 23. I never play games, because that's a waste of my time and the guy's. If I like them, I let them know. If I don't, I let them know. I move on with my life. So do they. Also, it's so interesting listening to other ppl's experiences on this sub. Personally, I have never heard of any of my friends or acquaintances "playing games" or "playing hard to get," but I do hear about guys (or girls) not taking "no" for an answer.

I don't see why men don't want to be seen as good ppl either. But in any case, it seems like you have seen/heard of many women who were capable of saying hurtful things about men's personalities or dismissing their sexlessness, and that is unfortunate. Those people are trash, and unworthy of anyone's time. I understand that personal experiences can be so central to shaping one's mindset, so it was interesting to read yours, which was completely different from mine, but valid nonetheless.

I can see that. Attractive people, in general, tend to get away with more, while unattractive people have their personalities scrutinised. That's true. Kind of straying, but do you think men are more candid about rejecting women based on appearances than women are? If so, what do you think is the cause of this?

Thanks for your clarification. In that case, I agree, women should not lie about their rejections. It was initially hard for me to grasp, mainly bc I assumed (based only on my experiences, admittedly) that most women are completely aware and candid about the fact that they reject men based on looks. Ofc, they would never say that to the guy they are rejecting (because that's just rude lol), but to other friends (male or female). But maybe your experiences are different.

So, first of all, I understand how getting constantly rejected can be hurtful. Of course it is reasonable to feel saddened by that. And I absolutely agree that men aren't "purely sexual creatures." That's ridiculous. We all want to be loved. On the other hand, (and correct me if I am wrong), you almost seem to be describing women as being completely in control of their attraction, as if they are shopping for clothes or something. If that is, indeed, the case (and at least for me, it isn't), then…

Completely agree. There seems to be this notion that career-driven women with certain standards are automatically self-centered, domineering, or just plain undesirable, but that's not necessarily true at all. Women, like men, can actually develop decent and attractive traits from working hard and focusing on self-development. Who knew!

I dunno, I feel like they would just say "nvm" and get away with it. But still better than allowing them the pleasure of seeing me disturbed/angry, I guess.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
