Well that was my thinking as well - that she's just using that as an excuse to turn me down. It's actually not a shock, but I thought that still might not be a big enough of a reason for her to turn me down (the universe part)

Completely agree with no dinner dates thing - it's just a difficult set up for any kind of kino and escalation, while it also feels somewhat uncomfortable eating with someone you just recently met.

I do agree that the date could have been better (in terms of escalating) , but I wouldn't consider it a complete failure. Well I did give here an option between two days, which I reckon is a better way to go as it provides girls with some flexibility instead of just stating one specific time which can backfire as they might not be able to make it for whatever reason. Yes, my worry is that I sounded butthurt but I didn't want to be playful when such a bs excuse is given..it would sound submissive…
