At one time people also thought blacks were worth less than whites because we "are dark." There are still antiquated cultures that are against gays because "it's not natural." Also, to add to your original question, I do think that some red pill traits may have drawn me to him in the first place. I can only speak from personal experience and that has not been my observation. If I had to guess, I would say there are also more people having abortions. It can seem skewed because you can keep an abortion secret but a woman with a child can't hide it. Just about all of the situations I've known first hand have been from not wanting to use a condom and poor use of birth control pills, which is why I think an answer to preventing it is for technology to develop more advanced methods.

In this question, "progressive" was meant to imply forward thinking and "traditional" for wanting to go back to the way things were or remain the same. Communism was a progressive idea in its day because there was a desire to change the status quo, but it failed to do so positively. Also, being traditional doesn't necessarily mean anti-progress.
