Botswana still has the 2nd highest occurrence of rape in the world.

Condoms are less effective, and that is when used correctly. I have a few friends who were the result of just using condoms.

6 years ago, at 23, I had go go to Planned Parenthood to get an IUD because my regular doctor said "what would your future husband think of you" because I had long-term bc. Getting your hands on birth control should be the easiest thing in the world.

Women were given the right to vote in certain states immediately following the ratification of the Constitution. Some freed people of color were as well. It all ended around 1808, and that's because Jefferson and the Democratic Republicans were in power and single women and people of color kept voting for Federalists to support abolition. https://www.nps.gov/revwar/about_the_revolution/voting_rights.html

To play devil's advocate, theoretically both men and women could make it forever without touching the seat. However, most men choose to urinate while standing. Without that, women would never have to touch it. Also, men need to put the seat down to do the brown business. So, in a place with 1:1 ratio, the seat should be down more frequently than up anyways. But I work in a OP-ed bathroom and don't care that I have to put the seat down after dudes, I just care that there are 2 dudes who piss all …

A more apt comparison due to popularity and time of release, as well as pervasiveness in pop culture, would be GI Joe.

Very correct! My comparison was unfair. I didn't think it through. Downvotes don't bother me, I welcome civil disagreement and I grow from criticism. I also eventually want to get into politics here in the US and there is always a huge number of your constituents who view you as breathing garbage possessed by a demon so I better get used to it haha

I am not trying to be aggressive, I'm not sure why you're being hostile. The people who say women need to go report rape and get checked are putting responsibility on the women. A doctor doesn't know you're sick unless you visit, that's not blaming a victim that's being responsible for your own health. That's societal pressure by parents, including fathers, who tell their sons to man up. Stop that culture and that problem is solved. I've been trying to do some quality of life research but am str…

I'm sorry but I'm confused by your post. Are you saying women supporting paternity leave is hurting your cause? I understand corporations don't like the idea of paternity leave, but that's why it's a FIGHT not a sit around and hope idea. I hope I wasn't blaming a victim, that was not my intention. Saying which sex is better off as a whole is like comparing apples and oranges when, for the most part, our quality of life in the US is great for both sexes. These issues we are fighting to change wil…

Thank you so much. I agree wholeheartedly with every issue you mentioned. Again, I'm beginning to call myself an Egalitarian. However, here is where my brain hurts and I can't find an answer: for every issue men have, women also have an issue. Custody battles, battles for rights to even have a kid. Men get longer sentencing in prison (detestable) while women get kidnapped for sex trafficking (yes, I know boys get kidnapped as well, but it does affect girls significantly more statistically). Men …

I have had several jobs. First was in college at a hospital surgery clinic as a data entry student position. Female boss who only liked her niece and nobody else. All 8 doctors were male, all 10 secretaries female. The male doctors shit on us and their secretaries constantly while our boss tried to flirt with them and reprimanded the secretaries and us for displeasing the precious doctors. Second, a warehouse. Bottom line: sexual harrassment. Got asked to go out by a male employee because he was…

I am ignorant on the situation in other countries so I am going to isolate my experience to the US. Quality of life? I don't see a drastic comparison, but do see a few things that impact health in males I know, namely their "I'm too tough for doctors" attitude that landed my father-in-law in the hospital for kidney failure since he wouldn't get help for kidney stones. The US also has the worst childbirth mortality rate of developed countries. If there is more I'm missing, I would love to know. P…

Have been doing some Wikipedia surfing and it seems rather nebulous. Seems to be the most tangible cultural effect would be the promotion of feminine traits and the disparagement of male traits, which I can see, though then we can stray into the "man up" and "men don't cry, bury those feelings" culture. They claim a gynocentric culture is only concerned with feminine issues and not the issues facing men, which I can see in terms of number of political issues revolving around women such as reprod…

I'm interested in this idea of gynocentrism in the Western World. Can you explain that from your perspective while I do some research? What would an Androcentrist culture look like, and do we have examples of it? If we can find the happy medium between the two, maybe then we can promote true egalitarianism.

You keep saying "sons" like men as humans in their own right aren't reason enough to fight. I won't ever have kids but I want to fight for men's rights. I think more people are fighting and "taking up the banner" than you think. You cite male allies as the reason for the feminist movement even existing - doesn't that say a lot about why the fight needed to happen? And why was it a fight? Because there WERE scumbag men who actively opposed women's rights, and many who still do today. Just like sc…

I actually had to look it up so it's not my memory! I agree, it's infanticide. It should be called euthanasia. I can see merit in a one-in-a-million case that a severe handicap or condition wasn't caught in-utero, but the concept turns my stomach.

You mean the two philosophers, Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva? One of which is a obviously male? And their reasoning is for cases in which severe health/ability issues were not caught during pregnancy?

So women have to fight for women and men, too? I would like to see both sexes fight hand-in-hand against all equality issues. I think concerted efforts are always more successful.

Well matronize is never used, either. It's like how we say "Hey, guys!" when we walk into a group of people, male or female. But implying patronize is the only word with a negative connotation is asinine when matronize has an identical connotation, we just use "patronize" for both genders. It's not that we hate men or something.

I think it's probably out of use but that is definitely a definition.

These are not feminists, much like ISIS are not Muslims and Incels are not men. They're the cuntyest of the cunts, they just happen to be louder than the sane ones.

Actually I'm womansplaining that you're actually incorrect about patronize and matronize. Patronize first means to shop at a business and matronize means to be a matron over. Matronize can also be used as "womansplaining" as patronize can be used as "mansplaining." This albeit not very reliable source compares them, but I saw Oxford Living also has it being the female version of the derogatory "patronize". I didn't actually know this until the other day so thought I'd chime in!

"Unnecessary" is a disturbing choice of words. It's almost as if people should be together because they value each other as human beings and not as services rendered...? I was told my whole life to be a lady, let the man hold the door, let him pay, but by fucking god I am my own person with two arms and a job and I've never ascribed to that thought process. Hopefully exposure of the toxicity from MRAs and feminists in tandem will help society rise above these detrimental and superficial preconce…

Absolutely. As a woman this is a huge moral quandary for me. I'm 100% not having kids but there is no getting around the fact that the making of a child is just not an equal event. My fiancé and I discuss this topic often and there is never a satisfying answer. Edit: except that every fucking human needs to control their fucking reproductive junk. Birth control, condoms, 24/7. Dudes, always be in control of them. Chicks, always use birth control. IUDs rock. No excuse in 2017 for unwanted pregnan…

Now I live in WV, he lives in Ohio (where I'm from) and I expected the courts to be worse here. But as a teacher, I've been shocked by the amount of fathers that have custody over moms just due to employment or closer relationships to the kids. It's strange that such a backwards state would have a more advanced view on custody. Granted, though, it is tough when a parent works 40 hours. Daycare is expensive and school lets out before work does. It's asinine that not working and being supported by…

That is seriously unfortunate. I have a friend who just got married last week. They already have 2 kids, the first was an "accident" and the 2nd he didn't want but, surprise, now he has 2 anyways. He could totally have gotten custody considering she uses marijuana and doesn't have a job and he has a solid job with enough free time to care outside of normal 9/5. But he chose to marry her unemployed psycho ass and pay for her expensive shit. I don't know how people can be so blind, but it doesn't …

Why did he buy her a German car? And, theoretically if they did get divorced, why could he not have custody? Because of his work schedule or just general inequality in the court systems? Could he not downsize his life and accept a different job if custody is a priority? Not trying to be negative, I just feel perhaps encouraging men to tell their partners "no" is important. Tell her no early on about something to make sure she's not psycho, be on the same page about finances, and don't have kids …

I completely agree. Men are already hesitant to come forward due to social stigma, though. Why not encourage victims to come forth in the same breath that we emphasize the absolute depravity of false accusations?

I think that the news outlets could handle it in a way that doesn't discourage women from coming forward. Issue apology while simultaneously drawing attention to the seriousness of rape, rape statistics, and be sure to touch on rape of both genders.
