I agree, sure it has regressive aspects, but both parties are aware of what they are entering into.

Wow, that's a powerful quote. This is a tricky lesson to learn, in academics or at work the general norm is more you put in, the more you get. This is not the case in relationships, i think this mindset is what leads to so many successful women trapped in dead end relationships.

Oh cheers, thought perhaps it was code for something else, like pickmeisha.

This is very well put, i also this is about emotional boundaries. If a man in a relationship confided in a male best friend, its socially acceptable but if said said best friend is female, it can infringe on emotional cheating territory, and visa versa. Definition of friendship is very fluid in my society, and can include varying levels of physical intimacy.

This, on my dayss, but tbh i can empathise, what good is a high paying job if you have no one to share it with... Hallmarked movie are my guilty Christmas binge, where i allow myself the delusion of a happy every after, as supposed to the negotiation it is.

I love this list, curve anyone whos into nietzsche even kafka tbh. Personally i am huge fan of dostoevsky, he soothes my soul , i preferred notes from the underground and the idiot over brothers karamazoa, i wouldn't go as far as saying it makes them misanthropic. It is difficult to find a dude who read philosophy objectively and isn't a self-righteous asshole, who's head is far up his own ass. Unicorns really.

Honestly, this idea is more prevalent than you would think. Or perhaps I have interacted without boundaries one too many times.

Even if you tell her, I dought she would leave. I mean you would have to be in rought place mentally to legally bind yourself to this man. Creeps are creepy in all facets of life.

Is this emotional cheating? Idk, i mean if friend was a guy this would be okay right? Besides its unrealistical to expect a romantic relationship to be your whole emotional support, its easier to talk to a stranger since they have no real effect on your life. Where is the line between confiding in a friend vs emotional cheating? Also we are only getting the girlfriends perspective, which can be tainted aith insecurities, its just one prespective.

Ahhh the ego, works in weird ways. You dont really really want him back, do you really want to be with a cheater? your ego is hurt you want to create a situation where you can stick it to him. Forgiveness is the key, forgive yourself for being stupid, shake your swlf off and try new stuff. Keep trying new stuff till you are a new you.

Yup relatable, but to be honest I curve conversion away from any topic that displays my knowledge, mainly because I don't feel comfortable in the "teaching" role, I'm genuinely like exploring topics im not familiar with. Statistically women but more educated than men, so to expect a potential partner to be equally yolked might not be possible. But yh stimulating conversations, emotional/financial intelligence are non negotiables.

It's hosestly appealing to me to, but I worry about not being enough. In the sense 2 people can provide better than one (finical, emotional, different prespective), a good male role model is an important as a good female role model.

A year and a half, okay so I have definitely been putting too much pressure on myself to be over this. Wish human emotions come with a factory reset.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/02/20 05:32 PM
11

Oh, stay stronge you'll get through this. My situation isn't as complicated and pretty much over. It's like a state of congnative dissonance, just conflicting and opposing thoughts. I am actively trying to get rid of the pedestal. This really has very little to do with the person and more about my beliefs about relationships and obsessive tendencies.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/02/20 05:25 PM
7

Problem with this is that you attach people based on who you are right. Last thing I wanna do it jump into a volcano from a fire. Decided I'll spend some time working through my beliefs before I go and try to build a friendship circle.

I only reliased in retrospect. It's not like I valued my self respect/dignity and left. There's real shame, for allowing this to happen.

Oh I STRUGGLED with this. A thing that helped me was, to link a action to the impulse. So every time I would get the urge to creep, I would switch my hair band and from wrist to the other, and change my thought.

Honestly, I kinda wanna defend her. We are told never give up, try again and again, you gotta put the work in, while this works in school/ work, sociaty forgets to mention its not applicable to relationships. HOPE is a double edged sword, maybe she hopes 20th time would be different, like an experiment changing a variable each time, didn't eddison make a light bulb 1000 times before it finally worked. So much time and labour has been invested, its too painful to cut your losses and take the L. S…

Imo, going back isn't a good idea. You have created a pattern of behaviour with that man, it would be challenging for him to see you as a new person. It may also lead you to revert back to old ways. Maybe you only want to go back because the rebounds sucks. Better to learn from this experience and be a better partner in your next relationship. You're young, meet new people they'll teach you more about yourself, find your purpose in life.

I understand these men are too old to server their full sentences. But I feel oddly comforted knowing their legacy is ruined. A sense of karmic justice for the ladies.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/01/20 10:32 AM

That's food for thought. The pitiful thing is, men mostly get bored and leave even after a woman makes herself small. I'm a former pickmeisha, in the process of revamping. Lastly do you have any good book recommendations on this, there's a lot of garbage out there, I'm tired of reading half away through a book only to find out I have wasted my time.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/20 11:42 PM

Thank you. But walking away might not always be a option (kids, finances) or simply because a woman wants to work on the relationship and not walk away. How to set boundaries in those situations?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/20 11:19 PM

Hello ladies, I'm pretty new to subreddit and to this philosophy generally. So I have a few questions: 1) what does OLD mean? 2) leveling up physically is pretty obvious but things like "setting boundaries", "practicing emotional intelligence", "self love" or what a "healthy" relationship looks like, are so vague. Can you shed some light on these topics?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/20 10:06 PM

Oh my god, this is too relatable, is this is reflextion of poor boundaries or gaslighting? How do you break the cycle?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/20 09:51 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
