You summed up this Times article http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/04/15/the-right-dose-of-exercise-for-a-longer-life/ I'm not sure why people constantly demonized running. You can lift and run. The benefits of both are obviously there and are beneficial. However, both plateau overtime.
