Not sure how long ago this was but today's prom tickets in middle class suburbs can go for $75-100. Especially if you're just going as friends rather than as a couple I would definitely expect you to pay for your own ticket. It would've been nice if she had told you the price beforehand and made it clear but still you shouldn't be salty that she asked.
