Isn't this like saying that gender studies isn't either? Also: I think it's complete bullshit that any discipline only spreads ideas and doesn't evaluate them at all -- that's called a cult. There is a significant difference between men and women. Hell, there's a difference between merely masculine women and men. I've seen it between myself and "masculine women". They're all the same. I hate to say it, sort of, but it's true: testosterone (low or high) makes the man.

I don't see what religion has to do with mutilation except that it's the worst excuse I've ever heard. There's a difference between a rite of passage (men in other cultures get circumcised later in life) and just mutilation for aesthetics sake. I understand that Jewish people feel they circumcision somehow brings men closer to god but all it does is take a piece of self that was NEVER anyone elses' to take.
