Yes this is very common now, of course high status men are in demand but there is so few its not realistic for most women to marry up simply because they make more, not that the men make less. Both the men and womens value is unchanged in this case, men still make X amount, women make more but men don't care so their value is mostly the same. Being A provider is almost as important as being THE provider except for the women you would classify as "gold diggers" but these days that is a negative t…

There are exceptions to everything, that doesn't make it a true in general which is the point of this debate.

Some people mean "less" given optimal conditions. Some others mean "less" given the average conditions. Since there is disagreement would it be acceptable to take a mix of both? In optimal conditions men/women are possibly equal, ignoring things like testosterone which gives men a scientific advantage regardless of experiences a few people have had with women. In average conditions definitely men want more.

What age are people in these studies? I think the answers from a younger person with more free time outside of work might have a different answer than someone retired.

Reminding your SO in a subtle way that you have options This is kind of how RP gets a bad name sometimes. Yes maybe that is a strategy, I don't follow it enough to know for sure. Ideally they are reminded without any effort on your part, but that is easier said than done so they have to fake it until they make it, and most never make it.

Decent was my guess as well but she also falls into that category where all internet virgins have the highest of standards when rating. The same kind who would say many celebrity women are "not that great" which may be true when comparing against the best but if you put them in a room of real life women they will stand out on top still. Ironically I will also say I never thought Maria was that great either, if she grew up in a different family she could easily be on par with the maid.

Are there any pictures of her pre-kid? When this story first came out he was like 10 already, just wondering what she looked like in her "prime".

Well then however long it takes, its a potential red flag and if you are unsure about the whole thing it could easily be the thing that changes your mind about the relationship, in either direction. In that case its not meaningless, it means something, up to the person to decide how much.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/19 09:54 PM

You are correct, but if you have a lot of options you need to make some quick decisions based on some "superficial" qualities then N count is just as good as any. If you have time to spend with them go for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/19 08:55 PM

Well lets put it this way, its not the only filter, it goes with other things too. I would say a large N-count mismatch in either direction is a red flag, if its the only red flag then you can let it slide, but its 1 of many that go to a tipping point of "yeah... this isn't going to work". I guess, its equal for most other reasons you may not date someone long term.

it's just less important/telling than other factors I would assess in a potential partner It's generally up there high on the "am I compatible with this person", that is after you pass the test of getting to a point to discuss that question in the first place. It is a quick way to skip finding other traits about the person that it may take months to do. Yes in a way its like stereotyping but you can't spend months dating and getting to know every person you meet and need some high level filters.…

http://www.freshlyfeminist.com/come-as-you-are-2/ Anyways how this might relate to the topic, I've heard personality and other things are a big factor in how women are attracted, so a guy passing the visual test could fail others, those are the breaks in this case. Men on the other hand can have breaks but it takes a lot more to trigger them. Girl doesn't have the best personality? Well she is still hot I can deal with this for a short time. She has a horrible personality? Okay she may not be …

As far as I can tell, the study was done by using MRI scans of people's brains while looking at porn, and they found both men and women were (equally? Idk) aroused. I have not read the book "Come as you are" but have heard about this. For sex women have breaks and accelerators for their arousal. The porn might act like an accelerator and there is nothing equivalent to breaks here so she gets turned on. The same situation with a guy she is visually attracted to, may do all sorts of things to put …

Came here just to say this. The guys answering the question love the idea because it never happens to them. The guys who get hit on are thinking "why is this a question, women do it all the time".

Not sure if this is a serious question but I'll answer. If your only goal is to simply maximize your attractiveness to women, you are probably not motivated enough to reach this goal and will fail some point along the way. If you actually enjoy going to the gym maybe you can reach this goal, but will keep going because you enjoy it. As for the other levels, beyond what is the most attractive for women, natural lifters will never reach that so they will just keep trying in hopes to get closer, so…

Sounds like everything went as expected. The guy had the minimum qualifications to get a date from an attractive female, he did. Beyond that they just didn't vibe well so it didn't work out. That is kind of the point of dating.

Strongly agree with this. It's not even that I need a super intelligent woman who makes good money, a college degree just has a high correlation to "They can have a 5+ minute conversation with me without saying anything stupid"

The best part is this was advice for women to succeed with men. "If you do all these things, you will stand out... but still be 1 of 20+ if you date me".

It's not the same, if you have been married 5 years (together even longer) and there is an STD you now both have it unless someone was cheating. If there is a pregnancy involved then only the woman will ever have it and more importantly, the chance of pregnancy remains the same each month for years and years assuming other factors remain constant.

What is the point of showing them? Aside from hurting their ego and making them quit the app for an "unfair" rating? Think its just a matter of con outweigh the pro.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/19 04:21 PM

Some type of rating could work but I think it would need to be totally hidden from the users, possibly just based on swipes? For example, rank everyone by % swipes in their gender, the top 10% of that is a 10, next 10% is a 9. Then only present matches based on similar ratings. This helps scale the imbalances, lots of women get swiped right on so maybe they need a 95% success rate to get rated a 9, while a guy may need 70% for the same rating. The end result is equal distribution. Keep in mind t…

I think most people here have the same answer, but actual responses vary depending on how they interpret the question. The extreme cases the OP outlined I think the "hot" ex is preferable as the uggo just makes you question everything about your new partner and possibly yourself. If the extremes were not so extreme I think everyone would prefer the uggo in that they are not actually an uggo but maybe 1 point below yourself. I'm not even sure that is true, it just happens to be that the target demographic is men having trouble getting any women, let alone a LTR. I think its pretty safe advice to stay away from LTR at least initially but that does not mean its not the ultimate goal. A biologically successful male has children, if those subs are late teens/early 20s then they have plenty of time to not worry about this. They are just trying to learn, if you want a successful job you go to school first and work your wa…

Not a follower of RP but from what I gathered half of their philosophy is how to KEEP a girl once you have her (hence the married RP subs). So for a true believer this question is asking "would you give up your strategy to keep a girl for your dream girl". Makes no sense.

Some men here believe that a woman just needs to be not fat and not crazy to get a keep a high quality man It's easy to say this but when your that man and have 2+ women like this to choose from, then everything else does matter. All the little things that normally people don't care about suddenly become pros and cons and variable depending on the person as everyone has different wants and needs. The high level generalizations get you a first date but lots of factors beyond that.

Am I the only who would consider this if I had a much better deal than the partner? For example they only met up with a guy maybe once a month for some fun while I did it several times a week with more than one person. The threat is simply that this could easily change but if those were guaranteed, I assume a guy who is a celebrity could pull something like this off. Gene Simmons for example probably had this deal and even a much better version of it than I'd want at minimum.

Regardless if this is true I bet there is at least some diminishing returns. The better the guy the more attention he gets. Once a woman hits a certain threshold she is as good as any in that category + men who have no chance will start to back off. Now that I think about it, its probably true. Just a generalization but lets say on the 1-10 scale men will go down 3 and sometimes get lucky and go up 1. A woman who is a 7 has the best range of guys (6 to 10), going up they start to lose that low…

PUA 101 that many people don't realize is to first become desirable to women, almost in a way that you don't need to "pick them up". From there you learn to approach and get exactly what you want.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/19 05:47 PM

A different question, but one that comes up in the FI community a lot. If your married is your net worth what you have divided by 2? We have labeled Bezos and others before him as having a certain net worth, or in this case the richest man in the world. Even if they were not getting divorced how can we call him the richest man in the world? Richest couple would be more accurate. In a way she should be on the forbes top 100 long before all this.

You are saying a selfish person gets whatever they want, and a selfless person just says yes because its the nice/selfless thing to do? Sounds like a good match, where is the motivation to stop this cycle? Oh yeah, porn is bad or something like that...
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/18 07:18 PM
1

Long time ago I read about this topic and this sounds accurate. Some women approach and some do not, if you want your pick of the best you gotta sort through both the ones who approach you and the ones who do not by approaching them. If you never approach you might still do pretty good for yourself but could always be missing out on that one you don't. To be a successful PUA it only makes sense you are so desirable you don't have to pick up at all.

I have not seen this used in an example before but this is a legitimate reason why shit tests exist. 1) To see if the guy is high quality and 2) See if he is interested in her and will work a bit even though he has some easier options. The first part of this can be done without a test sometimes, OP failed the latter one. But as you said its more of an incompatibility than a fail if he actually wasn't interested.

I think most everyone here is looking into this way to much. A big factor is simply with any two people there is always some decline in sex and even more so when you add kids to the mix, so its a combo of age/newness/family and work occasionally gets in the way too but younger people often have jobs too so lets ignore that one. Life is not movie/tv, relationships don't always have as much sex as most believe they do, it just seems the grass is always greener when your having a dryspell. So take …

Haha then there's that. Long time ago I once had a friend who have a different experience with that, the more naturally attractive ones didn't care as much about things down there so the correlation you said isn't always true. Of course you never want to risk the worse of both and only one you can filter out early on.

Pretty much goes back to the typical thing you here in this sub about 20% of the guys getting 80% of the women. I suspect that the 20% is not refusing to do it at the same rate the remaining 80% is at least when they get their rare chance to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/18 05:09 PM

OP, are you asking for yourself? Honest question, how would you rate yourself? As someone who meets all the requirements you listed I'd say it depends on a combination of the guys attractiveness and how much the woman has those qualities you listed. Without those 2 pieces of info its hard to answer the question, because it varies on who is answering and who is asking.

I actually think RP can be about getting married or at least indirectly so. The problem is many people who read that stuff are single and have bad success with women, getting married is not really on the radar for them. For many marriage is the end game, RP is just about how to play the game and do with that knowledge as you wish.

I think the answer is somewhere in-between. The fact you are singling out tech guys here is making some assumptions and stereotypes. First, this is bay area tech which at least the well known companies recruit the top people from everywhere. Maybe on average your claim is true but the simple fact is many people get worse with age. So if you are 1) Average to begin with and 2) Improve yourself from 20s to 30s you get the double benefit of increasing your age independent SMV as well as your age dependent SMV. Basically the average guy (not top level Chad type guy) has more room for improvement while their competition gets worse as the years go on. Also it is dumb to consider 18-23 year olds at a certain point, just because you can't g…

I kind of assumed emotional affairs were more related to distance/logistics. These days I would associate it with an online affair mostly, you meet someone who lives far away, etc. If you actually see each other in person at least occasionally and its truly an emotional affair, it just seems like a case of two people afraid to make the first move physically (ie the amazingly beta OP).

I actually think this question is a bit irrelevant. Things that "should" die out kind of already are, its a slow process though. Sure it still happens but its becoming more of a stereotype and less of what really happens. Here are some examples - Men paying for everything, a bit less common and "splitting" the bill seems to occur more. - Permission to marry daughter, saw a post on this a few weeks ago, seems most are against it and it doesn't happen as much as we think it might. - Rings, new t…

You are correct, they may just by RP by default and not need a self-help forum. The forum is to achieve a goal, that goal is to be high quality. Of course most of the participants won't be there quite yet (or ever for that matter) so they are less than high quality in the meantime, that doesn't mean everything in the forum is wrong. It's like saying fit people don't need /r/fitness. Yeah, they don't, but if you want to get there it doesn't hurt.

My biggest moment was seeing BP describe some of their philosophy which sounded too much like RP but in a roundabout way. Kind of like what you said, they don't want to discredit themselves so they try to make it sound different, when its really not, or just false information. I hate debating the false information part though, the reality is that some person may do X and claims it works, but really its because they have Y and Z going for them and don't realize it.

Okay so one big problem with this nobody mentioned is at what point do you leave the review? Probably when your done with the person, and why are you done with them? Probably because its no longer working out and you know their flaws, your no longer interested in them or vise versa. Even if it was just a simple hookup, maybe one person wanted to do it again, or you did it a few times and got bored, etc.

In your opinion what is an example of doing this without complaining? Only asking since peoples interpretation of that is very vague. To some, simply addressing an issue the other person doesn't want to solve is considered complaining from their perspective, no matter how you go about doing it.

What is the end goal here? To find a woman for LTR/marriage who doesn't mind if you one day become low value? Sorry to disappoint you but all of them care about this to some extent. All your tests are doing is filtering out the women who are quick to notice your changes. If you are in an LTR they don't have to be quick, it may take them years but they can still lose interest some day.

Most things discussed on this sub the imperative is based on a stereotype but in reality there is a lot more grey area. I think your looking too much into this. For a woman being marriage material is an all around good thing. Like most people, men get smarter as they age, so their revised assessment of you is really "Yeah this woman is a catch, wish I realized that sooner". And what is a starter wife? Is that even a real thing? You'd have to be a pretty big douche to think of your wife in anyway like that, men can be bad but few are that bad, those should be easy to avoid and have other red flags.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/18 09:06 PM

Honestly I think most are just trying to improve their chances with women because they get none at the moment. Plus if they are young like many are they would not be interested in marriage, its just because they are young, not because they are against it. The reality is the more women you attract the more likely you'll find one you really like and then you will want an LTR. Even if they say otherwise, I don't think they are really against it. Improving quantity indirectly improves quality, if yo…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/18 05:33 PM

Kind of what I was thinking too. These strategies the OP mentions are a means to an end, not the goal itself. Simple example is the dread levels thing, you want other women to be interested in you so your LTR takes you more seriously, not so you can bed every woman who is interested in you. The fact /r/askMRP and /r/marriedredpill exist with a decent amount of subscribers contradicts the OPs first bullet point. The remaining points imply the first is still valid.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/18 04:36 PM

In some cases you may both be right. But yeah if getting married at 30+ is "settling" then it means you didn't get what you really want and are someone elses leftovers. There are exceptions but at a certain point being too picky becomes being not good enough to get what you want, of course for self confidence saying your picky is much better.

I like this answer, you can even stack the deck and make the upper class person more desirable, someone who actually does get a lot of women and it would still work. The way you phrased it sounds like the white guy could be a beta or something but I know you probably meant both guys were at least equal in that categorization, whatever it might be.

It goes back to another comment, women are used to getting better on STR/ONS so the expectation is they can have the same with an LTR. But basically unrealistic is accurate here, only because they had a taste of unrealistic so it now feels like settling. If you never had it (like many men do) then its simply unrealistic and you shrug it off just like every other unrealistic thing in life, like wanting to be rich or playing pro sports.

Glad you mentioned that which is what I was about to comment on. Consent doesn't need to be enthusiastic but there should be more enthusiasm at some point during foreplay.

I could be wrong but didn't RP start first? And BP was started strictly to criticize them? I tried to look into the origin of the name recently and it appeared this way.

I basically agree with you but just wanted to point out this is kind of the next logical step in what society has already seemed acceptable. In most cases regular abortion is financial abortion. The general trend is that society/government will pick up the slack for any bad parents. It's been decided that an unborn child is not a person, has no rights yet we still say a full grown adult who has freedom of choice is financially obligated to this non-person with no rights, with no say in the matte…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/18 11:55 PM

Replace men/father with women/mother in your sentence and do you still hold the same stance? Keep in mind that implies abortion is not an option/illegal or whatever. - If your stance is the same, that's fine. I think this discussion only applies to the pro choice crowd. - If your stance changes, why do you think men/women should be treated differently here? Why is this an exception for gender equality?

I like this answer. The fact is for many people succeeding can be hard. My guess is they learn what works from subs like those and realize that just isn't the type of person they are which leads to MGTOW.

In this case why is settling a bad thing? If you "settle" and are still 1) happy and 2) not looking to upgrade, is it even called settling? If so why does it even matter? Also disagree on the "worse than women" part, as far as people unhappy with their partners its about 50/50.

I don't think that is a requirement, by definition they are not beta either if there is no alpha around.

The status is limited to subgroups usually, so yes a guy who bangs a bunch of girls you don't want to can still be alpha of some group you don't ever want to associate with.

Are there any statistics about trends and women going to the gym to lift? I'm pretty sure it has gone up a lot in the last 50 years, but is it still growing or did it just have an initial spike and level out? The whole "I don't want to be bulky" should be solved after 5 minutes of research on the internet, the info is more available than ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/17 10:15 PM

People who lift don't always like them that skinny even if they are fit looking. And just because they were in the yoga room doesn't mean they ONLY do yoga. I also think that was a bad slideshow for the example the poster was getting at, #7 for example, not really the female equivalent of a gym rat.

I think this pretty much answers it. If your a good catch but not confident it implies you may not be as good as you seem. If your a bad catch and confident it just makes it more obvious how bad you are, to a potential mate.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/17 05:57 AM

Exact age probably doesn't matter, it's disposable income to pay for acceptable quality. Younger you sometimes have unrealistic high standards and less money so you can't afford the $5000 for top quality. As you get older money goes up and standards go down, when this happens it suddenly becomes a real option to consider.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/17 02:42 AM

Yes the numbers put this in perspective. Average guy is by definition 50% and these girls are top 10%. You can't just upgrade 40% out of no where.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/17 03:19 AM
2

I'd like to say I'm above average but for me these 5 would be near impossible, so the average guy had no chance what so ever. Anyone imaging an average guy they know capable of doing this probably has more going for him than you realize and isnt really average to begin with.

So the trick is to occasionally pee on the seat at night on purpose so she eventually gives in and lets you keep the seat up. Then you can blame it on being sleepy and not trying to pick a fight on purpose.

There are some valid points here but many missed the obvious. Given the example numbers for salary it essentially means a high earning man who gets married and has kids with stay at home mom is simply no longer a high earning man anymore, they just get downgraded to average.

This. You can't argue with the facts. Also keep in mind he's like 70 not exactly the age most see as attractive so you really need to compare him to 70 year olds living a busy stressful life or a younger version of himself.

Sex is power for women, same as with money although historically for men. Their strategy is maximizing this for personal gain. For anyone their offspring is usually an exception to anything selfish, if anything you want to pass it down a generation so you reach them the same lessons as if it was to benefit yourself. In this case it's don't give away sex (or money) for nothing, only for personal gain.

Hot. Never seen a bad one in person at least, sure you can find some bad examples from a google search but you can find anything if you try hard enough.

That sounds about right. I've never used it but it seems as if the low match people might have even worse actual results. For example you swipe for 100 women, end up with 5 matches. Not bad it seems but where do those 5 matches end up? Each woman you matched with might have another 10 guys. So she ends up really only interested in the top 2-3 of her ten which probably won't be you. If women can be picky and looks are not everything they might be easy on the swipes but a lot more picky after the …

I agree I don't see this too often. However, when I do it's the result of a relationship started at an earlier age, like high school and somehow lasted past the point of failure. Its usually the woman who is more attractive though. The question the OP asked I really don't see enough to think it's a pattern or worth debating.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/17 12:05 AM
1

Picky yes but that matters more for LTR, it would be nice having a few more options in the meantime though since not everyone wants LTR at any given time. Think of it this way, have you ever been at a place where there are almost exclusively hot women? You don't all of a sudden raise your standards to find only 10% of them attractive because that number MUST be 10% for some reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/17 02:53 AM
1

I think this happens on smaller numbers too. The top 10% probably have a age gap when divorced, maybe it's only 5 years difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/17 01:05 AM
2

Maybe in normal circumstances but many people have periods of lower standards, either after a night of drinking or after breakup and want to hookup with anyone who can get them hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/17 01:01 AM
1

Where is this? I think I live in one of the cities that is probably on the list but there is still a ton of fat people. Maybe if I was from the south and moved here I might not think it was as bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/17 12:57 AM
1

I think there is a better chance for most people to move up a point or two in the eyes of others depending on their preference if they were not fat. Or at least dating someone with a lower number wouldn't be as bad, personality might just matter a little more than it does now.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/17 12:52 AM

I would say definitely no, both can be happy. This kind of observation of others is not specific to RP/BP either. Anytime you hold and live your life by a certain philosophy and are happy its very easy to imagine anyone who is opposite of that MUST be unhappy. This is common with politics too.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/17 01:06 AM

This makes a good point, historically evolution for most species involves some type behavior we might consider amoral. If it was not for that behavior in the first place we may have even reached this point in evolution to be able to question our morality.

Maybe because they have pretty friends and only one of them can be the absolute best, so the others feel they are lacking something. Best can either be defined as best looking or the one who attracts the most quality males, whatever is likely to give them low self esteem.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/17 06:31 PM
2

That is certainly and option for them and people do that already. I was originally replying to a comment that said nobody should do it and I was simply giving reasons why some people choose to. Now you say let people do what they want, currently that implies most of them take the males last name. They are not being forced to do that now.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/17 09:41 PM
2

Well if they don't like paperwork don't get married, that itself requires extra paperwork on various things even without the name change.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/17 07:52 PM
2

That's the point, for the woman then they have the same name as their own kid. It's not just having the husbands name, it's having the name of everyone who lives in that household.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/17 07:39 PM
0

What names do the kids get then? It's so the whole family can have the same last name. No kids or not thinking marriage is forever then you have a point. My wife didn't take my name until we had a kid several years later, she was always planning to it just wasn't a priority until then.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/17 07:01 PM

Very true, the more they vote to take away the necessity for men to take responsibility the less they can criticize them for exercising their freedom.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/17 06:15 AM

I don't even see why people would want to do that. At least go for like 25 year olds or something. Aside from the obvious relationship stuff how do you spend your time together? Do you ever have to interact with her friends and their boyfriends who might be half your age?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/17 06:07 AM

Yes these types of thing make me wonder what the girls are really like. The single girls in their 30-40s, what kind of baggage do they have, why are they single, is there something wrong with them? And the younger girls going for these guys. When I was at various stages in my life it seemed like all the women I knew were mostly into guys similar age as them (not necessarily me). There is never really a lack of quality guys at any age that going up in age will fix the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/17 02:52 AM

1) Up to the organization, if they thought so then in this case yes. 2) Yes 3) See previous answer 4) Probably, would be no different than other crimes allegations. Surely this type of thing has happened before with a less controversial crime. What happens in those cases?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/17 02:44 AM

This is the society we now live in, luckily don't have to deal with that stuff anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/17 03:08 PM

I agree with this. There are people who definitely have an advantage in the looks department who may not have to try hard, life isn't fair in that regard. But the number of people who actually have a big disadvantage in this that they can't do anything about is very few. There are a lot of ugly people who could at least be average if they cared to do something about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/17 03:16 AM
2

After thinking about this I think a middle ground might be best, maybe a slight lean on one side depending on the males preference. It's really an issue of the grass is greener. Its a desired trait when you don't have it but too much will push you to reverse your opinion. In the extreme case neediness is good up until its bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/17 09:00 PM
1

It could just be that men in general care more about looks so when your seeking men the cost/reward of spending more time to look good pays off more than if you were seeking women. For attracting women it might pay off more to focus 100% on making more money or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/17 08:32 PM

Aside from any hormone changes there are some other aspects to it. Most fundamentally working hard to achieve results, you get what you work for mentality. Sure genetics have some factor for gaining muscle but the transfer of that between one generation to the next is very insignificant compared to things like wealth and class structures in society. There is also the health side to it, a lot of lifting is superficial but in general you are healthier than non-active counterparts. As you get older…

Yes, the stereotypical "trophy wife" isn't exactly the opposite of lazy. Although it may get annoying after a while the thought of them not doing anything productive aside from looking good isn't an initial consideration. Women don't really have an equivalent of this for their husbands so by default the expectation is higher for women.
