Imagine if men started throwing around slut as liberally as women throw around incel, and there would be a massive amount of news reports on the surge of misogyny and sexism online. What do you mean by "started"? I don't think there has ever been a time when men haven't thrown around words like "slut", "bitch", "cunt", and "whore". Bad breakups, accusations of cheating, turning down a date, wearing something revealing, even just disagreeing can incite those words to be thrown at women. There has…

Ope, you're right. That's honestly kind of what I meant, just dig more into his experiences from his view.

Big agree, and there's a lot not seen on camera too. Even the family walking on eggshells is understated and glossed over, but the fact that it's present at all speaks volumes. I don't think dad was a bad dude and there were a lot of external influences that led to the murder. But I feel like Jamie picked up on those subtleties within the family. Then maybe he googled something about men being catered to by women (since he didn't get that catering but he watched his dad get it), and landed in mi…

Instead, they focused on "red pill and incels bad" while completely ignoring why the red pill and incels even exist - because Chad gets all the action and leaves a bunch of damaged women in his wake. If that's all you got out of this show, you completely missed the point. It step by step showed you exactly how boys become like that. It also showed how home family influences are major contributors. Did you notice how the mom and sister cowered to the dad and put all their energy into keeping him …

That's not how clinical depression works.

The point isn't which foods are healthy (which many times are also more expensive) it's that depression makes people irrational and the inability to get help for it means people cope in whatever way they can. I promise, no one with actual depression is thinking about WHAT they're eating to cope, and definitely don't have the energy to hit the gym to make up for their intake. It's a whole different animal than just feeling sad for a day.

Switching political parties to republican while wanting legal prostitution feels like an oxymoron. Taking away women's rights to reproductive autonomy is not the way to get legal prostitution.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/25 02:55 PM

Joking about taking away bodily autonomy in order to point out societal hypocrisy, is an entirely different thing than it being put into action and heavily supported by the people who face no consequences from it. There is no way you don't understand the difference.

When my ex threw me around the last time, he took my phone and keys and hid them, and cut his own arm with a kitchen knife so if I did call the cops I'd be arrested too. When his 2 year old woke up from the commotion and he was distracted, I remembered I had a spare car key in my purse, grabbed it and ran out the door. My neighbors had previously made it clear they'd not help so I went to my aunt's and reported it the next morning. Had I called that night I'd have been arrested, despite not touc…

This is the perfect analogy. Men like to jump to #notallmen when the reality is a potentially hot stove.

My husband and I sleep separately for the same reason. He flails so much I can't sleep plus I'm a light sleeper. It's never been about arguing, as we rarely do that; it's about both of us sleeping well so we can function.

I met my husband playing multiplayer Borderlands 3 with some mutual local friends. We have multiple consoles in the house and (when my hands allow me - I deal cards for work) play co-op games when we can. It amazes me that people still assume gaming is single player only.

I didn't say men at all, I said people bc anyone can be raped. You ignored everything I actually said in my comment. Many people who have been raped also get accused of being liars and have to live with that on top of the assault itself. As I've said before, that's part of why most rapes are never even reported. But I feel like I'm talking into the wind since you're not actually reading anything anyone is actually saying to you that doesn't align with your own views.

That is the thing you took from my comment? You realize a lot more people get raped outside of jail than in jail, right? And yes, for many of us, multiple times. My point was that it is extremely traumatizing and there is no comparison to being merely accused.

A ridiculous amount of rape victims do not get justice or help. Most actually, since most are never reported due to the victim blaming and shaming that happens when they do, not to mention being accused of lying. Do you seriously believe being assaulted + all those things is as bad as being accused?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 03:18 PM

You only say you'd rather be raped bc you've never been raped. As someone who has, I'd take jail time. The lasting mental and sometimes physical effects of rape are brutal. And that's the case for all genders.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 02:41 PM

This might be the most ridiculous thing I've read in this sub and there is a lot of ridiculous here. Your post makes you sound super controlling and insecure in your own relationships, which makes you think it hurts everyone else's relationships as well, which is simply not true. I say all of this as a monogamous, married woman: This is a you problem. To most of us, it's really not that deep. Honestly, it sounds like a you problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 03:01 AM

Let's be real, everyone likes boobs, period. And I've seen way less clothing on women all over in public spaces, than the wait staff at Hooters wears.

Eh, that just has to do with the differences in the way men and women think. I've thumbed through quite a few threads about it and the men either react how you've explained, with their logic rather than empathy and understanding, or absolute rage that anyone dare assume they in particular could possibly be dangerous. There's not much in between. You've shown more empathy and understanding than a lot I've seen in those threads.

While I understand where you're coming from and that makes sense, I've never been sexually harassed or assaulted by a woman. That's why I don't view it as misandrist specifically. I don't believe all men are dangerous. On second thought, you're right. The conclusion is misandrist. I think my brain automatically went to the negative connotation - misandry = hate men - instead of the part of the definition that says 'ingrained prejudice'. It is definitely ingrained prejudice, based on lived and pe…

I can't believe I'm agreeing with a red piller but here we are! I don't agree our fear is misandrist since it stems from our lived experiences, but I do agree than many men just don't care about the why and would rather brush it off and say we are paranoid and ridiculous. I appreciate the real discussion you've provided!

You went straight to literal on a hypothetical. But going on literal, a bear is very unlikely to attack unprovoked. Whereas some men have been known to attack unprovoked. Enough to make women more comfortable around a bear in a secluded area than a man. Not knowing whether the man we encounter is one of those, is enough to make us choose the bear. The hypothetical is exaggerated yet so many men can't (or refuse) to grasp the deeper concept women are running out of breath trying to explain.

Men act different when they find themselves alone with a woman. And that is where the fear comes in. I have been inappropriately grabbed, touched, kissed, etc in a public break area at an old job just bc I was out there alone with a regular customer. Had it been a secluded area it could easily have turned into much worse. And that's just my personal experiences. We experience a ridiculous amount of sexual harassment regularly enough to make us afraid of being alone with a stranger. Hell, most ha…

Funny, bc our reaction is directly linked to our lived experiences as well as other women in our lives. You could stop any woman on the streets and ask them if they've ever been sexually harassed in any way, or assaulted, almost every one will say yes. And THAT is why our default answer is being terrified. It is a direct result of how we have been treated by men throughout our lives. People like you, blowing off our concerns, are a big part of the fucking problem.

Here's the thing - we have tried. We continuously try to talk to men about why we react the way we do around men. Your comments have proven, yet again, how easily it falls on deaf ears. And that is why hypotheticals like the man v bear exist. And even that doesn't seem to get through to many of you. The simple fact that most women would choose the bear is us screaming how unsafe we feel around men we don't know (and many times should feel around those we do). It got us exactly where we already w…

Right but you literally said "bottom of society". YouTube shorts are absolutely not indicative of real life. There's honestly so much going on in your response, I don't even know where to start.

That's cute that you think sexual harassment is something to just shrug off. And that I'm being disingenuous. That is dismissive of the experiences of most women and girls across the globe. It honestly tells me everything I need to know about your mindset. And as a rape victim myself, I'm definitely not minimizing rape. I'm pointing out that it's way more common than men care to acknowledge. What's really wild to me is that you've ignored my entire point, which is that murder is far from the onl…

It is exhausting having to repeat this over and over. A lot of women have spoken up on this post about the fact that it's not just murder we are worried about, and it's been glossed over and barely acknowledged in the responses. It's like the people responding need us to only be afraid of murder, so they can say our precautions are ridiculous, blatantly ignoring the fact that there are also a bunch of other threats attached to our worry.

Right. I have never in my life met a woman who has never been harassed assaulted or raped at least once in their lifetime. Hell, I have been groped and kissed just for being in an enclosed break area (which was also open to customers) at a job, by customers, just bc my break happened to put me alone in that area at that time. We have very damn valid reasons to worry and take precautions.

I'm not sure what you're crying about since it's pretty obvious you actually just hate women. Your opinion (which is all you're commenting with - no real discussion, just vitriol) is irrelevant compared to objective facts and lived experiences of women. Why are you even here if all you want to do is ignore everything real women have said in these comments? Why not just have sex with other men since you believe women are all lying and not worth your time? Actually, I don't even care. You can shou…

"Nonsense" huh? Have you ever actually listened to any women irl? The best way to ensure no woman will want to have sex with you is to invalidate her actual experiences and feelings on such matters. Like your entire comment just did. You sound like an actual red flag. Source: am a woman with many family members, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances, who are also women. I've never met a woman, who has never experienced any of the issues I mentioned in my comment. Our actual real life experiences…

Okay, I'm game. Due to the fact that most women (close to all) have been sexually harassed, assaulted, and/or raped at least once in their lifetime, many are simply not comfortable watching a women be dehumanized and violently pounded by a man (or men). Lesbian porn is generally less violent and focuses on the women's pleasure. Many women also watch gay porn. None of this makes them necessarily bi. Women compliment each other to lift them up, since self esteem issues are drilled into our psyche …

Honestly, go with whatever makes you most comfortable to fully open up. I've had counselors who weren't right for me (had an older obviously religious woman with angel figurines everywhere) and just switched to a different one. Their job is to listen, not judge, and help you find the root cause of why you feel the way you do and help you figure out healthier ways of dealing with it. It's super important to find someone you can trust, man or woman. A woman may be able to help you see the other si…

I'm not generally one to suggest someone needs therapy, but you need therapy. This is an unhealthy level of possessiveness based on an assumption (that all women cheat or trade up if given the chance) you've made up in your head. You have these thoughts so you assume she does too. You want a woman to 100% worship you and not even think about any other man. Please don't date until you have been in therapy for awhile. Your delusions will ruin every chance at happiness in a relationship. I'm not ev…

Women have kids in their 20s and teens as well... Also, people don't always look their age. I know a 24yo man who is almost completely grey already. The fact is, people make judgments and assumptions on people they know nothing about. That fat girl men won't even look at might be a goddess in bed with an amazing personality. That model married to a short fat dude, he might be hung like a horse and the life of the party. Judging people by looks is simply ridiculous.

Alternatively, (and likely more factual), 15% of those baby boomers are perpetually closeted. Variations in sexuality is more acceptable than ever before. Flat statistics don't take into account the changes in society.

It's the community name, 'seduction' that throws people off I think. People see seduction as techniques to get sex and nothing more, when that is not it's only meaning and use.

I was a lot like silkat in the past too, just wanted to thank her and you, dr. v, for acknowledging this. I dont talk about my past often because of the negative stigma society places on girls lile me. I never dressed provocatively or made it obvious how I was but if I wanted something I went for it. And I believe that gave me the experience needed for future mindblowing sex and further understanding of how the opposite sex works! :) Society's view on women doing what men do is skewed and unnece…
