It wasn't romantic advice. It was a general talk about vulnerability and shame. And I think I'm being missunderstood here: I know that being a whiny baby is not attractive. I'm talking exactly about the same thing that you are talking about: That I don't care about being perfect. I just have the feeling that this alone triggers some women to lose attraction. Not whining, not seeing her as my mother, just simple, plain owning my flaws.

I agree with you. Oversharing is not the problem, since I have no intention of sharing real personal stories with someone I just met. I just don't want to lie about things. I don't want to pretend to be someone I'm not, just to come across as "alpha". I'm afraid of heights and I'm not ashamed about it. That kind of stuff. I don't want to fake being bullet proof, because I'm not. I realize that a woman I'm dating is not my therapist. But I don't want to be a random douche that's so full of himsel…

In my opinion setting boundaries is important. Learn to say no. If someone is upsetting you, tell them in a calm and nice way. Stand up for yourself. Be the real you without trying to impress or please other people. I know, easier said than done. Here are some resources, that you may find helpful.
