What can be done to change the cycle? I have a feeling that collectively they do not want to break it. There are exceptions, but one person isnt going to change an entire culture overnight. For something to change, it would have to take decades.

Im talking about male circumcision here, which is done for health reasons, as well as cosmetic reasons, and now you are telling me about female circumcision. Talk to me about male circumcision. Dont change the god damn subject. Its literally not even close to the same thing between male and female circumcision. All you have to answer me is this: Why is male circumcision bad? Give me the answer to that, then we can talk.

Disagreeing with someone is fine. But I feel like they think I'm stupid because my opinion is not the same as theirs. That my opinion is not worth reading. I started reading this subreddit to see what are the important issues that as a male, I should be concerned about. As a circumcised male I don't value this topic very highly. It was brought about to rile these guys up over a non-issue.

Id like to point out that at the point that someone is a baby, someone IS responsible for making decisions for them. Whether that includes circumsicion so be it. If you are personally against it, you have the right as a parent to decide to withhold circumcision from your son. There IS a decision being made, and ethically, and legally, it is acceptable for parents to decide. Ive seen uncircumcised ones, and think they are ugly. Thats my reasoning at least. Its MY opinion. I dont know whether other circumcised guys feel that way or not. We dont really talk about this.
