Yeah, online harassment in video games is absurdly common. Really anywhere online, whether it's Twitter, Reddit or Tumblr, harassment is just something you need to accept or leave. First I would like to say that no one's an idiot for believing this story. Second... what would they have done to punish the first grade boys who did this?? They got suspended. That's a pretty serious punishment in first grade. I get that it's a terrible thing they did if this were true, but these people want to get the police involved... on first graders. In particular, men are encouraged to take whatever they want. Thus women are no longer viewed as people. Instead they are viewed as objects to please men, to be taken. Yeah, privilege is another one. I get it. It does exist. But the people that use it often fail to acknowledge their own privilege. Eighty percent say women are favored or the process is neutral. The problem I have is that a person can go to trial, the "victim" can say they wanted to have sex or even initiated it, and then it doesn't even matter. Someone can go to jail for 15 years for a crime that didn't actually have a victim.
