Yes, of course, fruit is healthy. Ketogenic diets don't imply fruit is "bad" but simply that overconsumption of let's say a banana, instead of a few blackberries will kick you out of ketosis as fructose in fruit is stored in the liver, rather glucose which is stored in muscles. So you're following something closer to the Paleo diet, which does involve some ketosis too. "Ketosis" isn't the diet per se, it's a state expressed more or less based on a diet. For you, I'd recommend (based on what I se…

I've done the ketogenic diet periodically before for a few weeks at a time, but this time it has been over a month. Light ketosis can happen with 24 hours of fasting, the difference of following the diet is that you become "keto-adapted" meaning your body begins to prefer ketones over glucose as its primary source of fuel. If you do it right and enter ketosis you can experience the benefits quickly. Have you tried fasting and/or the ketogenic diet before?

Yeah, don't eat trans fats. However, meat has trans fat. 1g of trans fats /28 g of fat in grass-fed steak. The point is this type of transfat is CLA (which improves cancer risk). Just clarifying it, in case you misunderstood me. Cheers.

Thanks firstly for the data resource - it looks great. Also, great info. I agree with everything you've said. Have a great day.

Yes, you're correct when you say there haven't been conclusive dangers directly to insulin resistance, etc... I should have elaborated on my reasoning why. It's been shown that diet soda correlates to metabolic syndrome and obesity. However, this may appear confusing because there are no calories. The idea is that it desensitises your palate to natural tasting foods and thus indirectly has one seek after more pleasurable foods with sugar, etc... So my mistake, I should have elaborated. However, …

I didn't say plant-based as in vegan or vegetarian. I recommended a lot of fat intake (saturated/poly/mono) etc... I'm a fan of keto. It's having a base of plants/vegetables is important for a cognitive function for a large majority who won't drop their carbohydrates to 5%. Anyway, thanks for the comment. Have a good day. Happy keto-ing!

Hey, thanks for your comment. "Why would you not post sources?" I have posted them now upon your request. "Especially the part about just blanket telling people to avoid gluten" Avoid doesn't mean eliminate - this is specifically for people who are sensitive to gluten and yes, perhaps I should of mentioned this. It's clear now that gluten irritates the gut. Watch this video by Dr. Mark Hyman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLJSmJ0bMlk "basically stopped reading when you list sweet potato in reg…
