Good luck, I'm a tax attorney that works with this stuff and it gets complicated fast! Look into irrevocable trusts and "Crummey" gifts (court case). Every state is different on what you can keep from a spouse. Family law unfortunately is a mess but estate planning can be a useful tool to get around the family law bias madness. I can confirm that guys in their 20’s are screwed despite having an education. My graduating law school class is a great example. Every woman got a job out of law school, even some who did not pass the bar exam. However, many guys who did very well and passed the bar are still looking for work. I was able to find temporary work in a finance/accounting firm where everyone above me was a woman. My manager was a woman who only had a bachelors in business.
