Here's the thing, imo: the idea of nexting lies on assuming a few things are true. 1 - there are many fish in the sea, or many women out there to meet 2 - attractive men with self respect have many women to choose from 3 - you can make yourself more attractive with hard work because what makes a man attractive is not always what he was born with If you work hard on yourself and build a comfortable level of confidence, you'll find that you will no longer have to look for advice on if/when you sho…

most of the posts seem hostile The definition of misogynist is someone who hates women. I'm pretty sure trp talks about accepting people for who they are. I've never seen a post say, "I hate women" and receive a positive response. They talk about using the scientific method to approach the truth, and discourage using insults, shame, and emotion as leverage in an argument. I'll admit, I've seen a few people on TRP that I would call a misogynist, the truth hurts, but they are usually upvoted and r…

Something to try: warm up before the game Before you hit the bar or put your game face on, go out and talk to as many people as you can. Go to your college campus, a coffee shop, a different bar, the grocery store, whatever you need to do to warm up...just like sports. Do it until you are in the zone, ready for combat. At 5'10 and 120lbs and average at best (maybe worse) facial aesthetics, I always feel inferior. I've also got no real skills or hobbies. You say you've been working out. Work out …

Who cares? You met her friday. You'll meet someone new next friday that isn't involved with your friend. Sounds like typical bs to me, that she wants to have her cake and eat it too. On the down side, she may have just been angry and thats why she made with me, she may just be hanging on to me in as a back up. But then i start to think "she's a shy girl who's only had one boyfriend, she doesn't seem the type to do it" but that's open to discussion. Hahaha...you got some work ahead of you.

OP said he remembers everything clearly from that night, except the incident the girl is talking about. If OP said something like that, the girl would have complained about what he said, not him touching her on the arm. I agree that OP is fucked, unless he gets a lawyer and get all current claims made in writing. What the girl has described so far, or at least what the boss told OP, is not illegal nor could it be considered sexual harassment or assault. I wouldn't want to smooth things over with…

it's not about pride, it's about avoiding people who are batshit insane who threaten your job, livelyhood, and reputation because you touched their arm at a social gathering. Talking to this girl CANNOT go positively.

He touched her on the arm, and she ran away crying then claimed he assaulted her and you think TALKING to her would go well?

Why would anyone think that because someone is sober it makes their feelings less valid? If you read OPs post, he says that his boss and the girl who was "assaulted" claim that OP touched her on her shoulder or arm. Pretty sure touching someone on the arm or shoulder for the first time is in no way assault. The girl said nothing about being taken advantage of, just that OP touched her arm or shoulder at a company outing.

I'm a little confused. I know men get shafted a lot when it comes to this kind of thing, but I'm failing to see anything wrong with touching someone on the arm/shoulder. Get that shit in writing, pretty sure it's not illegal to touch an acquaintance's arm or shoulder. Talk to HR, talk to a lawyer. Your boss needs retraining.

Do you even know what negging is? It's not some buillshit Mystery invented. It was simply something he brought to light. Negging is essentially "busting someones balls". THATS IT. It's not manipulation, or sexual harassment. Thats like calling guns a bane on society because some idiot shoots a kid. Not something you should use on EVERYONE, just to knock self-entiteld people off their pedastals...LIKE IT HAS BEEN DONE FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS

I want to say one more thing about feeling weak and small and vulnerable. They call guns "equalizers" for a reason. I'm not telling you to buy a gun, my point is that humans would have never survived on this planet if it wasn't for our ingenuity in overcoming our disadvantages. Godspeed.

In my opinion, you can't stand on the backs of others and claim to be righteous because you're not in a position where you have to interact with them. Blinding yourself to those beneath you is unempathic, a trait shared with sociopaths. You may not be a slave or a master, but you're still on the chess board. While there is a choice you can make to do the right thing, simply interacting with others thrusts you into court. You can choose not to play, but others still move against you. Do you defen…

When you got the oneitis, it changes your brain. You'll realize and accept that your ex is bad for you...but you still can't get over her. I think it takes time, dedication, and hard work. Gotta have self respect, and the strength to endure anything.

Work. Work out. After even just a little bit of working out you flex your muscles and they feel tight like you could punch a hole through someones head. That helps me feel masculine. I used to be called "scrawny" all the time, but I just started working a little bit each day and I'm not jacked or anything but I get complimented. Take a martial arts class, get a punching bag, whatever you need to do. Never feel small. Never feel weak. Fear is the mindkiller. Also work on yourself so you can handl…

I did a bit of coding when I was a kid (qbasic on a crappy 386 i got for $11 and some html in high school), but spent a lot of my time just working shitty jobs. I think I'm going to do this. Already got through everything on Khan Academy now I'm checking out code academy and I'm about 60% through their java script tutorials. I actually kinda have fun doing it, so I'm going to stick with it. I've talked to a lot of people and every single person I talk to seems to know someone who taught themselv…

whats the difference between "slutty" and slutty? It sounds like you're asking, "What proof would you need from a bear in order to be convinced he is absolutely not a bear?"

I guess I assumed either he or she was exaggerating his level of being overwhelmed and not telling the whole story. A man can have social anxiety and still be confident, but if he was genuinely so flustered trying to pick out a shirt that he called his mommy...then yeah...

This kind of thing is always really interesting to me. “I have the hardest time making decisions,” he said without a hint of shame. “Today I got so overwhelmed shopping for shirts that I had to call my mom.” He said it without a hint of shame. He doesn't give a fuck, he is confident in his insecurity, but she suggests he should at the very least lie about it. don’t we all have our own, unspoken 10-point scales? Be honest — you do, and so do I. Mine happens to weigh heavily emotional intelligence…

when i was really bp i remember telling myself that I liked to look at women but didn't want to have sex with them. Of course I was so noble I could separate my feelings of lust from admiration of beauty. I was so insecure I found myself wanting to just look at women rather than interact with them because it was easier, didn't have to put up with shit tests and rejection. Now i'm like a olympic sprinter, my feet register the starting gun before my brain does...or in this case my penis.

I love the beige phillip rule that everything is your fault. After I found out my ex was cheating on me I felt it was my fault but I was a beta about it and eventually turned my frustration around and blamed her. Now looking back, it was all my fault but I'm prepared if anything like that happens again. I was too invested, and let her walk all over me. It's like a fight, should have seen that right hook coming but I called it a sucker punch to make myself feel better. Only when I actually learne…
