1	Azimuth Check I encountered a couple land nav courses that were tough, swampy, and guaranteed to ruin a cadet's ego, especially on a pitch black Virginia night. That being said, I agree with this comment in general that land nav is easy. So much so that i have always suspected that some of the guys I went to Ranger School with failed the land nav on purpose so they could quit (in week one) without having to admit "lack of motivation."
